Came in a few days ago. The staff there were awesome. Super friendly and had a really good selection. I'm an experienced fish keeper and the gentleman there had a lot knowledge that impressed me. Keep up the great work. I'll definitely be back soon!

This place has some pretty helpful staff, and the lady who runs it really knows her stuff. We have purchased about 20 fish/frogs and a few rats here so far.I often feel like I'm asking too many questions about fish but they pretty much always have an answer here! They've saved me a few times with key recommendations and tips, and helped me get my tank set up properly.They're happy to make special orders of fish and supplies and get shipments regularly/quickly. Prices here have been on par or better with any other pet store I've been to.One caveat to the 5 stars is to be careful of snails! I'm sure I'm not the only person who bought plants here and ended up with unwanted snails in my tank. Be sure to inspect and treat plants from pretty much any pet store beforehand, because they're a pain to get rid of!

Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Clean store. Wheelchair accessible downstairs. We never made it upstairs. They have a bug selection of fish. sell used tanks. The variety of birds was pleasant and the animals seemed happy.

I love supporting local businesses, and this is one of my favorite places I love going to. I frequently visit to admire the fish, and to purchase things for my bettas. It’s nice seeing how much space they have in the tanks too! The staffs are friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. I just wish they have more smaller tanks available in store. I’m glad this place exists because the Petsmart nearby doesn’t know how to care for their fish.

Dont know what happened to this place. When i first started going there back in 2010, it was awesome. Over the years the quality of the livestock took a huge dive. The last time I went there about 3 weeks ago, the saltwater tanks were covered with red slime everywhere. Was sad to see. The staff was super friendly so that counts for something.

Awesome pet store with great staff! The owner is amazing and knowledgeable in many areas. But don't worry if you have a breed specific question, guarantee someone who works there knows the answer. Side note: They don't sell dogs or cats but advocate for adoption from our local shelters!

Great staff and a good selection. Staff is very knowledgable and if you can grab the owner for a bit you will learn a ton. Haven't had a single fish or plant purchased croak.

This store is my go-to for all things about my betta sorority, they are definitely knowledgable and are willing to help. They've made some great suggestions regarding medicine and tips for care-taking. The store has a wide selection of products, reasonable prices and everyone always has great attitudes. I had a break out a couple months back that killed off 4 of my originals(bettas) and this is the only store I trust to buy bloodworms from now on. Will definitely always come here.

Sweet, honest customer experience. Love to go in with my dog and just see the rest of the cute animals! They don't mind at. They know their products and people! And they groom! My dog comes out calm and smelling fabulous. Not shivering like some other groomers I've taken her. Come check it out. Experience it yourself.

One time I went there and the small animal and fish help was great...once. We had a slightly larger, sort of nerdy gal help us (not trying to be mean, those are compliments!). So we went back, and the same gal was nice, but everything else kinda sucked. High prices (but i know it is hard to compete with big box stores), super long line waits, and poor upkeep of the rat cages. And oh god then I made the mistake of trying to talk to the groomer a few times. This woman is harsh and rude, and the couple of finished dogs I saw leave while I waited in line were an ABSOLUTE JOKE. This place is okay if you need a specialty product or questions answered about a pet, the staff did seem knowledgable. But avoid the grooming like the plague.

I was referred to the store by a snake owner friend and also Another pet store because I was in search of quality frozen mice for my kitty. I was a little hesitant to handle them but the employees there were very helpful and friendly and bagged the mice for me as well told about the price break! I will be back for my kitty's weekly treat :)

I had a very bad experience today with customer service. Multiple different people are giving me different prices for the same items on different days. Very frustrating and then they are rude when questioned. The animals are high-priced and not kept well. They mark up there live feeder insects three times, I suggest going online and buying them yourself they get their live insect feeds from Reeves cricket farms and other farms in bulk no tax no shipping.

Where do I even start. This is a horrible place and they should not keep any pets AT ALL. I went to this pet store because they were the only pet store that sold rats in my area since petco and petsmart stopped selling rats. I got a medium rat sold to me as a pet. Well he bit me and I called to see how healthy their rats were and if I should be concerned about getting sick or anything. I am fine. Didn’t get sick. But the woman I talked to said that I should not have been sold a medium rat as a pet seeing as they are older and generally sold as snake food. She encouraged me to bring him back to be fed to a snake. I did not take him back because I already bonded with him. He is a fine pet and only bites with reason. But any pet will do that. But they should not have sold him to me In the first place.Now when I got him, he was sick and starving. I got him less than 2 weeks ago and he has gained so much weight and is looking much healthier now. He also had an upper respiratory infection which is being treated.When the girl put him in a container for me when I was buying him she picked him up by his tail and dropped him into the container that I bought for him. Literally dropped him. She could have broken his tail, or hurt him more by LITERALLY DROPPING HIM.I am so disappointed in their lack of care to their rodents. With my care he is now much more energetic and loves cuddles.When I left the store the sales clerk had the audacity to look at me with a concerned look and said “please take good care of him.”It really makes me want to buy all of the rats they have there just to save them from the abuse they are all enduring there.

Everyone here is super friendly and there is always an answer to any question you may have regarding your pet. They have a pretty decent variety of products and even sale used tanks upstairs. I'll be back soon. Would go here over the Petsmart 2 blocks down anyday. Highly recommend.

I have shop at this place for years before and after the new owners and have notice it kinda depends on who is there and the service your going to get. If the new owner is helping you then you can expect ok service if you don't mind being help by gothic looking really pale female with mutable face piercing and her breasts hanging half way out of her top. If the younger female staff members are helping you it can be even more of a toss up. You might get good service or you might get some little underage girl trying to flirt with you if so just turn and walk away. Also there prices are really high you can find most products on amazon for half the price even with shipping.The previous owners were great except if you know something about fish and disagree with something they say then it becomes a pissing contest of knowledge back and forth. Don't make the mistake of saying well the guy at other pet shop said.Also don't fall for the oh this small critter lives longer if it has a friend it is better if you buy two of them. sale pitch

I was really dissapointed in the service I received today. My friend and I were here to buy a rabbit. We were ignored many times and not given any information, we had to search for other staff because one staff continued to walk away and ignore us. This one Staff member was refusing to sell us the bunny so it could be used for a photo shoot while raising her voice at other staff saying they can't sell it; this photo shoot shouldn't be happening because of the extreme stress from over stimulating the rabbit. While waiting we walked around and noticed poor conditions in the rats and hamsters; they had many had cuts and many Syrian hamsters where housed together which is dangerous and causes fighting. This used to be a great place when I was a child, but has gone down hill. I'm really passionate about the animals here and always dreamed of working here but it's painful to see the disrespect and lack of care about the animals well being. Id hope to see better costumer service to people wanting to care for animals. I uses to volenteer here but things have gone down from three years ago, the manager a sweet women with many piercings always helped me and answerd any and all questions, place for pets needs more people like her because the service I received today made me not want to come back while a certain staff member was on the clock, or ever.

Today’s my first time stopping by to check the shop out & needed to get some bugs for my bearded dragon 🐲💕Walking in id say it’s a pretty clean pet shop 😍 One side of the shop is mostly fishes/aquariums. But they also have many other animals, they have multiple big giant beautiful macaws birds that been dropped off for rescues to lion head bunnies 🐰 ,baby guinea pigs 🐽 , sub adult pretty medium size chameleons, leopard geckos 🦎 , beardies 🐉,chinchillas,stick like body insects, ferrets & hamsters 🐹 ..I Definitely enjoyed my time here❣️Tbh I felt Carla is truly an amazing pet shop owner & seems to actually care about her animals & customers. She also has a great smile 😊 She Hooked us up with some advices & I will be coming back soon 💯♥️ Thank You 😁

This is a good place to buy fish, as they have a wide selection and the owners are knowledgable. HOWEVER, the staff has always been very rude to me, and even yelled at me the first time I ever came in the shop because I alerted staff to a dead hamster. I did so in a polite way, and was informing them so it wouldnt make the others sick, or have to be seen by any kids. As for the pupppies, watch how they interact with them, the staff just pushes them around. The rodents are overcrowded, and the guinea pigs and rabbits are always terrified of people.I prefer to shop locally owned stores, but in this case, I cannot support what they are doing. They are really just trying to make a quick dollar on these animals.

This shop is full of knowledgeable staff, food, toys, and equipment for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. I live nearby and visit often to get supplies for my conure, but also just to spend time with the various birds and amphibians they have. As far as I know, they don't deal with mills or breeders, but take in pets that need homes. They also offer some grooming services and may offer other services as well. They are well-experienced with more exotic pets, which can be difficult to find.A Place for Pets is one of my favourite places in Burien and I cannot reccomend them enough!

Sold me animals that were sick, still needing help and even when i called the vet she had lied to me about what the doctor was doing. Only a matter of time till this buisness went under atleast she can put her focus on her mental health that karla always seem to complain about, aswell as the animals who were neglected.
