We recently went to the Rhododendron Species and Botanical Garden, in Federal Way. Then we visited Whitney Gardens and Nursery, in Brinnon, yesterday - and found it to be absolutely wonderful! Even the drive, to Whitney Gardens, along the north shore of Hood Canal, is incredibly beautiful and memorable. The gardens are compact and meticulously designed - with sweet little surprises around every corner. The owner and staff were so kind and helpful, too. We loved it so much - we’re going back next week.

Located on 101 this place is very easy to find, access, and exit. It's worth the stop even if it's only for a walk-through. Many amazing plants with huge old rhododendrons. They ask for a $1 donation for a walk-through. The staff is very knowledgeable with no pressure sales. There's also lots of the usual garden tools and supplies. There's a gazebo in the front to hangout with free wi-fi. Although not designated or designed as such, a lot of the garden is handicapped accessible. If you found this review to be helpful please consider adding a thumbs-up. 👍

If you find yourself driving the 101 near Brinnon, you would be remiss not to stop at Whitney Gardens & Nursery. They have acres of gorgeous landscaping that envelopes you as soon as you arrive. My husband and I took a day trip there a couple of weeks ago. We were amazed by the beauty and tranquility of the grounds. Though we had heard only glowing reviews, I don't think anything could have prepared me for the experience. If you are a PNW gardener looking for an adventure or even just a Rhodendron enthusiast, put Whitney Gardens on your to do list. You won't be disappointed!

Beautiful walking nursery designed with a natural atream. Even in mid April, lots of blooms...just a dollar but no pets allowed unfortunately or I'd come frequently.

Gorgeous property, friendly and knowledgeable people, and of course the dogs! Now Fred and Sugar (was Fred and Ginger) - Sugar is the new little puppy. They're known for their Rhody's but they also have a remarkable selection of evergreens, more types of camellias than I've seen anywhere else, azaleas, and everything else. I love this place.

Such a beautiful and amazing place! Can't wait to actually spend money there. But even if you don't want to buy anything, take a bit of time to stroll the 7 acres. It is incredible this time of year, and I would imagine most of the year.

Great staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Plants are reasonably priced and there is a huge selection. It is a very peaceful setting to walk around in the gardens enjoying the rhododendrons or enjoy their free Wi-Fi in their gazebo area.

A beautiful almost seven acres property in Brinnon, Washington. Mature trees and landscaping, a huge garden with water features, rhododendrons, azaleas and other ornamental flowers and trees. Beautifully maintained. There's plant and tree nursery attached. A must see if you are going to Hood Canal and beyond .

This is absolutely the best place to find the largest selection of rhododendrons. It's been there for decades and some of those rhododendrons are three stories tall, not the ones for sale of course but the ones planted in the ground a long time ago. Love this place and there's a good burger place after you've been there nearby.

Beautiful grounds. So many varieties of rhododendrons, azaleas, camillas, and other trees and bushes! Also had a nice gift shop. We went when there wasn't much blooming and it was sprinkling a little, but still really enjoyed our time.

This nursery has a wonderful selection of shrubs, trees, rhodies, and perennials at excellent prices. There's also a beautiful garden you can tour and two of the sweetest golden retrievers you'll ever meet (Fred and Ginger.) Whitney Gardens is so well worth the drive to Brinnon!

Amazing gardens lots of great plants, it was worth my drive just to see their garden. The drive getting there is also very scenic. It made for a great morning outing. I especially liked the Japanese Maple displays and they had many harder to find cultivars.

I adore Whitney Gardens. The nursery has so many different varieties and colors of plants. Especially Japanese maples, rhododendron, and azaleas. The gardens are beautiful and you can enjoy them as much for their beauty as you can for inspiration before visiting the nursery. The staff is very helpful with everything from plant selection to loading and protecting your treasures for the journey home.

Beautiful paths with signs at plants so you know what you are looking at. Great, friendly staff. Fred and ginger (resident goldens) are friendly. Beautiful place to shop or just explore, sit on a bench and enjoy nature!

This is a hidden gem! One of the most delightful small gardens I have visited. Several of the vistas rival Buchard. Every plant is lovingly labled. We visited during spring and we were treated to azaleas, fruit trees and wonderful rododendrons in bloom. They have a splendid nursery and nice little garden shop. Great spot for siting song birds. Highly recommended.

The gardens were beautiful and peaceful. Since I was looking for a specific plant, I found it was a bit chaotic to have to keep searching different areas for the type I was looking for. They weren't grouped together. Overall, worth a visit though.
