Took my boy to get groomed with Mary today. She did a fantastic job! She did great on his nails, his coat is shiny and soft and smells great, and his breath is much better. She is also so kind, and you can tell she really cares about the animals she is working with and wants them to be comfortable. We will definitely be going back for future grooming needs!

2 instead of 1 star because the staff really tried to accommodate a tricky situation. But the tricky situation was mostly caused by pedantic rules created by corporate lawyers.I knew my dog is skittish going in. Though I am quite sure he read my bad mood prompted by a proof of rabies vaccination requirements that were not communicated to me anywhere until after I followed directions by walking up for a nail trim. It's a completely reasonable requirement, but the impromptu search for the document online started my dog getting restless. Then came the requirement that they attach their own leash - corporate rules did not allow me to just hand my leash over. Corporate rules also did not allow me to put their leash on my dog. By now my dog was terrified at a stranger just approaching his neck with a leash (not aggressive, just recoiling in terror).I am once again understanding of the staff having to not take him today. Then they told me that if I bring him back he cannot be medicated in any way, even with a veterinary prescription.At the end I am once again appreciative of the staff cleaning up after my dog peeing in terror. But the Petco lawyers have made it abundantly clear that my dog is not welcome in their store (unlike my veterinarian that made reasonable accommodations). Your perfectly normal dog may be just fine there.

Paige gave my standard poodle the best haircut of her life. My poodle girl looked so beautiful and she was happy to be there. We’ve had bad experiences at other places which left my dog scared of the groomer but now with Paige! I’m going to bring my other poodles to Paige from now on too.

We've been taking our two dogs to Mary M for a couple of years now. Mary has been wonderful with our dogs, especially with our cocker spaniel who tends to be anxious and needs some extra patience. She also is very observant and tells us how our dogs did, if they struggled with anything etc, which we appreciate.It can get very busy midday to afternoon on the weekends, if you have an anxious pup, morning appointments are a much calmer time.Overall, the Petco Grooming experience has been positive and convenient, It really helps that we can make and reschedule grooming appointments through the Petco app and we get 20% and 8th grooming free through their rewards program.

Do not bring your dog here. Maybe these groomers are working under tough conditions and that makes them uncaring and honestly kind of mean. I don't know. I just know that they were were adequate/basic for the services I asked for but made a point of being uncaring and demeaning to me-(just because my dog is new from a shelter). One of the ladies actually said " This is not the right place for him." when I asked what that meant- they said I needed a year to bond with him before I brought him back. ( And this was said in the most demeaning tone)Well don't worry. I will never treat him badly by bringing him back there.I could say more--I was talked to as if I had done something unforgivable-when I only committed the "crime" of paying what I thought were professional groomers to give him a wash plus leaving a tip. So don't worry ladies. I will never be back-I will make sure I choose groomers who are real dog people and kind.

Second negative experience i’ve had with a petco groomer in a row. Last time was at gig harbor so I decided to give this one a try. My dog has been getting groomed his entire life (he’s 8) and i’ve never had issues with other groomers adequately being able to groom him and haven’t had issues with petco groomers from other states outside of Washington where i’ve now only been to Gig Harbor and Bremerton. Of all the times it’s never taken less than 3-4 hours, Rain finished the dog wash, hair cut, nails, teeth, blow dry of a huge golden retriever in less than 1 hour and 20 minutes. It looked exactly the way I would have expected. The cut wasn’t even, his ears were matted, he was still damp, and he looked like he got zapped by lightning. She said we tried our best. She read a note from the last groomer that he has trouble standing still and decided she just wasn’t going to try. Which I would be okay with if it were consistent across his life but being only the second time in his more than 50x being groomer this has ever happened and bother were at lazy groomers working for the same company 10 miles apart I’m not buying it. I’m gonna pay $120 elsewhere thanks.

I had an outstanding experience with Paige at Petco Grooming. She did an exceptional job with Finn's grooming, demonstrating incredible patience and understanding throughout the process. Finn looks and feels fantastic, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Paige's professionalism and skill truly shine through in her work.

The people seemed nice but I wasn't very pleased with the haircut and then I found my poor pup had a bleeding cut on her paw and they did not say anything about it.

After waiting 2 or 3 months for an appointment, finally got an appointment. Not only they didn't return my phone calls, they close the department. Showed up for the appointment and Mary refused to Groom my dog Rosie because her nails were to long. If this the way they treat their 2 or 3 year customers, for forget it! I would express myself about Mary, but I don't want to embarrass my dog Rosie! The worst....Went home and did myself!

Mary is the best groomer we have ever been to. Gus just loves her. It is important to me that Gus feel comfortable and not stressed during his visit. Mary understands that he doesn't like the dryer and let's him air dry. She is so interested in the animals comfort!

Mary is astounding. We have a senior Sheltie with health issues, and Mary is wonderful at taking those into account. We actually changed stores from Gig Harbor to Bremerton (which is an additional half hour drive for us) so that we could keep seeing her.

Now that Shannon is no longer at Petco, I'm looking for a new groomer. When I showed up, they acted surprised that I wasn't informed Shannon wasn't there anymore - that would have been nice. Then I arrived a few minutes early to pick up my dog, and was unhappy to find that the groomer had gone to lunch so when there were issues with the cut, there was no one to tidy it up, and it was something that I had addressed in great detail when I brought her in. Annoying that you have to give a tip at the cash register before seeing if they did a good job; plus it requires an extra trip into the groomers when you have to get in line to get the paperwork, get in line at the cash register and then get in line again at the groomers to finally get your dog which is being held hostage until you show the receipt. Why hasn't someone thought of handing you your paperwork AND your dog at the same time??? I can't imagine that the risk of someone walking out without paying is high enough to warrant the extra time and interaction in the store, especially during a pandemic. Probably a lot more efficient for the staff, too, to hand you paperwork and dog and move on to the next customer.

Mary is AMAZING with my boys Frito and Solstice. Frito can be a cranky boy, but he loves Mary. My baby Solstice is over 90lbs and has anxiety and she worked so well with him to accommodate and help him feel safe and comfortable. She has such a loving and caring way with my boys. She is a true asset to the Petco Grooming team.

I take back my previous comments. The service I have received for my pets (4 dogs) is in no way what it was. Seems like they replaced most of if not all their staff. They refused to groom my 11yo Labbie because he was limping (he has Arthritis in one hind leg) and was breathing hard (he is a bit of a porky) and told me to come and get him. They would not take our word that we know of these issues and that he would be ok. We have used Petco for years and never had an issues with our dogs. I am disabled and cannot bath them myself and I will be damned if I take them to Petco again.

Shannon is always so friendly and answers any ?s that I may have about Pixies grooming. She grooms her the exact way I want and is so gentle and know how to get Pixie to not be nervous for her grooming appointments

Great staff...good at what they do. Pride in their work...they are like extended family...good people. My doggie loves it there. I know the care and treatment she gets there is extending her doggie years. All good stuff.
