What can I say, it is a Safeway store! They have a great selection of wine and liquor, and they have the typical Starbucks inside as well. The store is clean and well laid out, and the staff has been friendly.

Both of the guys behind the meat counter are douchebags that just stand around and look at you crazy when you ask them any questions about what they have in stock. Fred Meyers will always have my vote, variety in the meat dept at Safeway sucks, is way overpriced and looks like the clearance stuff thats a day old. Save your time and visit Fred Meyers everyone!!

(Edit: THEY FIXED THE FRIED CHICKEN RECIPE, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! The fried chicken is back to normal, AND ITS A GOOD REASON TO SKIP KFC. Way more affordable and it heats up amazing in the oven if cold. Thanks everyone at Safeway for hearing us out! I chenged the review for you!) They CHANGED THE FRIED CHICKEN RECIPE! As of Tuesday, March 21, the amazing, better-than-KFC chicken is TERRIBLE now, it tastes like Haggans Fried Chicken. I believe Safeway either stopped using Peanut Oil, or they stopped pressure frying. Either way, you can also tell by the breading. Its the same as Haggans and Fred Meyers now, and it has dark, black speckles in it. Totally different from before. We used to come HERE for the chicken and skip other shopping locations just for this. We would end up buying our groceries here JUST because we could bring home their warm, fresh-fried chicken. PLEASE, BRING BACK THE OLD RECIPE, it's the reason we used to shop here in the first place!!! 😔

Sundee is 💯% the worst employee my family has ever dealt with. She completely disregards anything you say, she curses under her breath and complains about serving customers any chance she gets. They have this new "theft control" female with frizzy brown hair and a pony-tail who literally stalks honest customers through the aisles... she couldn't be more obvious, I'm not sure who hired this high-school hall monitor 😆. Ra'shaad is awesome, he makes us enjoy the whole visit, as well as the new manager with the light brown hair and upper lip mustache. Michelle is amazing, she deserves a management position. Believe me, we're 24/7 regulars and we like to treat our store staff like family. We keep up with the service and have been shopping here for over 10 years. Thanks for everything you do, Safeway, we love you, please keep our opinions in mind... you're family to US, and your pricing has kept us warm through the winter. 😊

I love the Sunset Safeway, especially first thing in the morning. The staff is always friendly and even if something comes up they always handle it with grace and professionalism. Special shout out to Jacob W. who is always willing to go above and beyond to help customers find whatever they may need.

Make sure you push the prescribing dr option if you need help from the pharmacy...multiple times I'm left on hold for over 20 minutes. I had to have a new medication sent to this pharmacy and was told the first pharmacy needed to contact them which is bull if you are a regular to the safeway pharmacy heaven forbid they have to call another pharmacy..anyhow the pretending to be a prescribing dr got them to pick up the phone fast which is terrible i have to lie to get the service i need ..always snarky over the phone . But will say pleasant in person . I get things are hard and many places understaffed but cmon some people have no choice and have to go through safeway

Freshly made, delicious sushi is available here that we enjoy every week. The store is well stocked and the employees are nice and friendly.I often buy a rotisserie chicken here. If they are out in the hot selection in the front of the store, go ask the deli counter. They usually have more available.I also like the convenient prepared meals on the right side near the front of the store. It is easy to find something to take home to heat up or pre-made salads.I often buy flowers here.

I would rate higher if it weren't for the fact that I ordered my daughter's cake for Friday, but got it Saturday.I even asked the gentleman if Friday was too soon, since it was Thursday. He said no.When I had the picture dropped off, the bakery was closed. So no one knew anything about the cake. Leaving them too uncomfortable to leave the picture with unknowing hands.Then the bakery calls me on Saturday asking about the picture.I tell her that I had ordered it for Friday not Saturday and she seems totally unconcerned or even apologetic about that fact that my daughter's party was ruined.Oh, but they still tried to charge me $6 for a photo cake that had no photoTheir cakes are absolutely amazing though.They need to bring back whipping cream icing

They claim to be open until midnight but lock the doors at 11:50 so don't waste your time by choosing to come here for a quick stop to grab drinks from the cooler in between job sites if you can't be here before then. 11:55 with plenty of time to be in and out before closing, it's a no go and met by a somewhat rude employee (can't say they all are, in fact none had ever been towards me previously, but the one I experienced tonight was) I recommended an edit to better reflect that actual store hours but who knows if it will go through, so just a lengthy heads up to future late night shoppers

Compared to other grocery stores in this area, this store was lacking brands or products that I typically purchase. I left with five items on my list and the need to stop at another store. The milk seems to always be outdated. And those that aren’t outdated spoil before the expiration date. A lot of money has been wasted on milk. On the other hand, they had some items in stock that other grocery stores did not. Some of their prices were a little better than other stores while others were not. For instance, Rana pasta sauce is sold for $3.49 at Fred Meyers and at Safeway it was marked at over $9. Perhaps one store was not priced correctly. Anyway, I alternate which store I purchase groceries from because inventory and prices can vary a lot for each store.

Very clean store and love the location. Starbucks is inside which is a bonus. Always nice to shop here and then gas up with points. Love this location because they have parking for veteran. How cool is that?

If you shop here, make sure to check your receipt carefully everytime.Edit: I have had multiple issues with being charged the wrong price and it never gets resolved.Edit 2: They never did get resolved. The customer service for those types of issues aren't great. But I did start shopping there again, using the app, and I haven't had any issues in a while. Perhaps they fixed some of their problems.Edit 3: The app does still have issues with the digital coupons.

One of the best grocery stores in the area. Lots of discounts through the app. Starbucks inside store. You can order pickup with short wait times for delivery. Veteran parking, handicap parking, and designated pick up parking available. Great location.

Parking for food delivery agents, online orders, and handicap right up front. Traffic can be kind of hectic on Sunset way and Orleans during rush hours.As far as the store within, great deli, bakery, produce, dairy, even spirits all have a great selection.One of the few places we can find Almond Joy Coffee creme.Staff throughout the store is usually very friendly and helpful

I like safeway, but..My grandma was here shopping recently and when she was leaving a cart apparently locked up right on the edge of the street, she nearly toppled over it into the road and was really shaken and angry about it.I understand theft is a problem, but if you dont do something about your locking carts, you could very easily end up being responsible for seriously injuring sombody..

Big time ticked off that I shopped here...went home, and the English muffins and bread I bought were expired today. Wish the walmart in town had a better food department. But this experience today has made me swear off safeway for my food purchases in Bellingham.
