During our recent trip to Washington State (from across the border), we visited several Petco stores to take advantage of their fish tank sales. We ordered online and picked up a couple at this location. Very friendly and helpful staff based on the brief interactions we had. Store looked clean and has ample parking outside. We definitely will be back for future aquarium sales!

Do not shop here, several things are wrong with this company and location but here are my two biggest problems1. Vital care programI was tricked into this by a staff member who said I could opt out of the program at any time, which was a lie. THEY DID NOT TELL ME IT WAS A YEARLY AGREEMENT THAT I WOULD HAVE TO FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL FOR IN ORDER TO GET OUT. I've tried talking to a staff member at this location and they told me to contact customer service. Customer service told me I couldn't opt out of it due to me being told it's a yearly program (which I was not told about). My main problem with the program is that it's 18$/month for 2 pets for a company I don't want to spend more money on anymore and when I get charged the bank flags my account as fraud and locks my card (which I also told customer service).Do not enroll in vital care unless you know you can't opt out and you're okay with that2. FerretsMy friend had gotten her ferret here and the same lady we had talked to about vital care was helping us with her. The ferrets tank was covered in poop, there was hardly any bedding in there for her to hide in or play with and she was the last one in the tank so she was all alone which isn't the greatest for ferrets who need 3+ hours of socializing and exercise (6+ if they're alone like she was). We were told that if we bought her we would have to keep her in Marshalls kibble for a year as an agreement between the ferret breeders who make the kibble and Petco. We were told that by doing this we would get our vet bills paid for until a year has passed of ownership of the ferret. After we had bought her we read the ingredients and the fine print of the agreement. Half of the ingredients she can't even digest (ferrets are carnivores only, they can't eat plants) and the kibble had things such as sweet potato and wheat in it. She decided to feed her ferret different kibble and eventually we'll do raw meats too. The agreement between the vet bills being paid does practically nothing to help us because according to her, Marshalls only pays for very few things (very rare occurrences).3. Staff membersI've had some very rude staff experiences but nothing is worse than a staff member omitting information in order to line the companies pocket, especially when it screws over the customers. The same lady who helped my friend with the ferret and me with the vital care omitted information and lied to us about what's actually in the agreements and what's not and what we can actually do about things.Do not shop here, their staff doesn't actually care about the animals, they just act like they do, instead they just want to do anything to get you to spend your money just for them to be able to keep their jobs and make sales.

We were there to buy food for Kashmir and to find items for a puppy we are getting soon. The selection of harnesses, leashes, beds, and crates was thin. Sizes were hard to determine, color choices were slim, and everything was everywhere.In addition, the food purchase was two small bags since a large Pro Plan Senior bag was unavailable.And I never got my emailed receipt.

Pretty standard Petco experience I feel. The staff is super helpful and will help you find whatever you’re looking for. I feel like I go here for a lot of the little stuff that I can’t find at other pet stores. They also seem to carry a better selection of small animal supplies. Their clearance bins are always worth checking for toys and shirts and coats for your pet.

Get the Vital Care Premiere card, it helps you save every month on stuff for your little buddy babies (until they pass away) and when you go to cancel it, it's Not a pain in the butt, it's pretty smooth sailing. Everyone is Very kind.Great animal selection that is well tended over, and multitudinous variety in toys, food, enclosures, lights, trinkets, excellent go to.If you guys could pay your employees a Bit more it would go a Long way, it Always seems to be a skeleton crew, meaning I usually only see 2 people in the whole store. They work Really hard, give them More money please! Otherwise I'd give 5 stars. Because the employees all Definitely deserve 5 stars!!

I ALWAYS shop at Petco over your competitors. I came in to look at Dog Food to change my girls food, I read labels and searched for 45 minutes or more. I finally found one, Merrick, it was $86, I don't mind the cost I want her healthy. I get home to set up an auto ship with Petco and it shows the price of the food is $30 cheaper IN THE STORE. How can this be, I was just there? I came to your store to review brands, there's no way I would've been able to order it and pick it up. I tried doing it online, but I wanted too look at ALL my options. I did set up my auto ship, with chewy. YOUR games of order online and pick up in store, cost you a 20 yr customer.

I’ve spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars at this particular petco and I’ve never had employees be more disrespectful and at any other store in my life. The first time it happened with one employee i left crying but i let it go, I’m a fish fanatic and have hundreds of fish and multiple tanks, cats, dogs and i also rescue other animals big and small.. being able to shop for my pets is important to me. I had Premier Vital Care and used this Petco multiple times a week. The last interaction i had with a woman working there she threatened me that she would see me the next time i was there and i called the manager and he didn’t care at all. I haven’t been back since. Loyal customers and good customer service should be of utmost importance and now a loyal customer cannot return. It’s sad all around.

My best friend and I come here often. There tend to be some great deals that occur you just have to keep your eye out for them. For aquatic plants they have a great selection between my friend and I we have gotten roughly 7 different plants from here and they all are doing well in our tanks. I purchased my tomato frog Persimmon from here a over 1/2 a year ago and she is doing amazingly still. My best friend also just purchased two medium hermit crabs from here and they seem to be in good shape so far. Honestly this store seems to actually properly take care of their animals and all the workers there are very nice and helpful!

Me and my wife made an appointment for our dog Kuzco to be groomed. We went over what was needed to be done with the groomer because his coat needed work. We specifically said “DO NOT SHAVE HIM COMPLETELY” anyone with common sense knows not to shave a Siberian Husky completely bald. My wife was in tears in the car after seeing him completely shaven. We specifically asked if he were to be shaved (Not Completely or bald) to have a even trim… I was so furious I tried not to blow up at the groomer (Will not mention her name) to be professional and instead told the cashier about the issue which she was very polite and got the assistant manager for me. She completely apologized for the treatment my dog received and we did not have to pay for the grooming. However I am just still very upset and will now for months have to not take my dog outside because he was completely shaven and honestly makes horrified to take him in public due to us receiving backlash on shaving a husky. Extremely disappointed and very emotionally hurt. We will no longer be using petco’s grooming services any longer. The photo of him before not shaven was him just before his grooming. The groomer stated that I shaved him because he was matted but find that false and he only had compacted fur. We brushed him before he went to the groomer and was just fine. Sure there was knots but it is completely UNACCEPTABLE my dog and me had to go through the trauma of seeing him completely shaved bald

It was extremely dark in there. It was really hard to read the labels with only half the lights on especially back in the reptile area. It’s great the store is trying to save money however maybe some additional under shelf lighting or something in the corners that are dark. Anyone with vision issues or disabilities will have a much more difficult time shopping. This isn’t disabled friendly at all.

The employees at this store are always friendly and helpful. The store has a nice selection of dog, cat, small animal, and fish supplies. The prices are on the higher end, even compared to Petsmart, but the store does offer a lot of premium products, especially food.

We called to see if our Petco had Feliway spray in stock; a lovely lady checked and assured us that the spray, as well as collars, and diffusers were all available. Quick pick up and check out. This is a nice store with helpful staff.

This store just started processing Happy Returns, so I wasn't there for "PET" stuff.The Happy Returns process can take a few minutes, especially if the cashier is really busy.The employees are great, and they quickly ask for backup cashiers when lines form.Note: When we had house rabbits, this was our go-to place to pick up food, bedding, toys, and treats.

The website wouldn't tell me how many bags of dog food was in stock. Was trying to get some royal canin for my schnauzer.I went to the store after finding out that they won't answer the phone because they only had a couple people on the floor.I go into the store to the dog area. Go to the royal canin area, and no schnauzer food. Ended up walking through the store two times trying to find assistance and ended up going near the fish area and found two bags of what I needed. I don't know why they don't put all the royal canin in the same area and why it's always low inventory. Staff was friendly. The store was clean. The prices.. Omg America has suffered with inflation. Nearly $70 for ten pounds of dry dog food..

Wild. Spent my morning here waiting for a hamster. Someone wouldn't have peed on me of I was on fire. 7 different people and couldn't get a single person to "small animals" for 30 mins. Hire some people for crying out loud that want to work!Their grooming department is a joke. They told us to come in at 2pm on Sunday. We are on our way to bring our dog in, called because we were running ten minutes late, and the front desk girl says, your appointment was at 1:30. No, it was at 2pm, because that's what time YOUR team told us it was. Then, she says, "well, you misheard her." No, you owe use an apology for the mis-scheduling that your team should be held accountable for.

I think this is wonderful place. I haven’t done a lot of shopping here for my cat, but I’ve enjoyed wandering around this nice store while my partner gets supplies for his birdies. He introduced me to Petco, and I became especially glad that he did when I searched all over town for Arm & Hammer Absorbex cat litter.I had tried two of the other Arm & Hammer varieties of clumping cat litter, and I did not like them (too easy to leave the box along with the cat! Not a happy experience if the cat gets into my bed!) But I liked Absorbex very much, and the manufacturer kindly gave me $60 worth of replacement coupons. The trouble was finding a place that carried sufficient volumes of litter for me to be able to use the coupons fully.I called all over town (B’ham is small, after all!) And one of my last calls was to Petco. Not only do they carry my preferred litter, but they had the size I needed! Po-ou was true to his word, saving their last box for me, along with instructions on how to follow-up if needed. When I went in, I was helped by Kim who was wonderful. The staff were so helpful, good-humored and just terrific.And at the end of my saga, I was rewarded with an amazing sight: A huge metal container filled with giant Lamb Chop stuffed toys—and I do mean giant!—at a steal of a price. Having fantasized that my mom named me for Shari Lewis, I had to indulge, and Lambie is now happily ensconced in my home.What a great store!

Only issues would be finding more than one person to help with fish (I've been there a few times where there's a bunch of us standing around waiting for our fish) and the amount of dead or sick fish....always important to remove them asap when they're dead

The lady who sold me a hamster sparked my interest in proper hamster care. She wouldn’t release him to me until she was sure he would have everything he needed. So, shout out to her and Petco! Every animal deserves this questioning and lecture about their new home. Especially when it comes to hamsters. I had no idea that these little cages sold were actually BAD for them. I researched more and stumbled upon a YouTuber named Victoria Rachel & Munchie’s Place. These people know what they are talking about. Do NOT buy a hamster without doing in depth research. I do not recommend anything less than a 40 Gallon Tank for your Hamster. What is sold in stores as “hamster cages” is not what is best for your hamster. Thank you again to the woman over seeing the small animal area. You are a true animal advocate. I recommend this store for purchasing hamster products such as bedding, food, toys. Be weary of what you purchase as a home for your small animal.

So because I live out of town and don't get here very often i made the mistake of waiting more than 30 days (i have my receipt and just wanted to buy stuff that fit) basically they wouldn't let me exchange it for anything. Too many other places that will take my money i won't be supporting them in the future.
