Great spot, kind of trendy. It has nice tasting coffee and tea. It's very clean with comfy chairsThey have a nice outside area as well. Cool interior!Parking: Easy to find a spot because it's on the fringe of town and a neighborhood.

Checked out their outpost in Everett first, and enjoyed the Bellingham outpost today! Cute space, delicious looking pastries, they even have take home biscuits for sale to make at home! Ordered drip coffee but there was only like a half of cup left so he offered to make me an americano too if I didn’t have time to wait which was super nice! I also took a cookie to go with me and it was excellent! Soft and chewy, but not crumbly or too soft. Good chocolate flavor!

I was excited to visit Narrative Coffee in Bellingham and see how it compared to their Everett location, that I loved! They nailed it again. The Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich was excellent and the Ritual Mocha was silky smooth and delicious. The space is much smaller than Everett but made it a bit more cozy and more like the perfect neighborhood coffee shop. They also have a big covered outdoor seating area if you prefer to be outside. And, being just steps away from Bellingham's smallest park, the Broadway Overlook, you can grab a coffee and enjoy it with a great view of Bellingham Bay and Squalicum Harbor.

Cute spot if you're looking for a drink, snack, or meal and don't need to worry about a budget. The atmosphere is clean and kind, it's at a solid location, and shares a building with the store next door. Good place to meet people or go on a date or get some work done. One bathroom and a larger room for meetings or larger parties. Tiny single person tables, not much in the way of seating.Be warned, everything is expensive. The drinks/food/pastries are priced to the point where I won't be returning because it would be financially irresponsible. Wish I made enough money to come here often, but hey.

A nice small place for coffee, tea, or light brunch fare. Good balance of flavors in the soup, ingredients all felt very fresh for our Salmon Lochs Microgreen Hot Honey Biscuit, and most of the food and drinks are caringly crafted right there. Also a decently sized semi-private room in the back for a group outing or meeting.Shares a building with a pub style place, so a good place to visit at any time of day I wouldimagine.

Ah Narrative. I’m so glad I visited the shop while I was Bellingham. One thing that’s really big for me when visiting a local shop is feeling the sense of community, and this one did not disappoint. I loved that I felt like a Bellinghamster even though I was just visiting. Thanks for the awesome service and welcome Sergei and Micah! Now let’s talk product, and I have one word: fantastic. The food was incredible! I highly, HIGHLY recommend the French toast. It was crispy and soft while dressed with fresh strawberries and whip adding a refreshing taste to the warm bread. The coffee is also so smooth. I typically dress up my lattes, and this time I didn’t feel like I needed to do much at all.Good coffee, good food, good service, good community equals an excellent local shop to support and make a staple in your day-to-day eats as well as your next visit to Bellingham!

Cutting to the chase: this coffee is the real deal. Strong and roasted to perfection. And yes, expensive.I wish top quality didn’t cost so much…but alas. Needless to say it won’t be a regular occurrence to imbibe here but I will be delighted on those special occasions.Ps- they have ritual chocolate from Salt Lake City which is also divine, yet pricey.

I am sooooo thrilled that Narrative has opened in Bellingham. The staff are friendly and clearly very passionate about coffee. I got a tasty cappuccino and I’m excited to go back soon to try the food and enjoy the space. They did a great job with the vibe and decor.*update* - returned and had an awesome biscuit sandwich. We also got their take home cookie dough and it’s amazing!

Cool little coffee shop! A had the peach tea which I’m not going to lie was a tad pricey however I was amazingly surprised at how good it was! It seemed like they really took the time to make sure I got what I paid for. Will definitely come back and try other things here

Books and covers - somewhat nondescript outside, fantastic inside! Lots of nice little and large design touches, and loved the big tasting wheel at the back.Narrative is yet further proof that Bellingham is a coffee mecca. Great selection program to obtain and feature top quality roasts.Barristas greet locals by name and are incredibly attentive without being over friendly.Espresso shot dialed in and milk steamed just right to a stable, tasty foam.Well thought out food program that goes well beyond their excellent pastries served fresh and warm.

My first time here. Monday morning. I was shocked to be told that my 12 oz Americano was $5. I felt that the tip options on pop-up payment screen were irritating at best. I don't feel there's any need for tipping on a counter-service where you have to bust your own plates and sit at a picnic table outside. Drinking my $5 coffee beverage out of a chipped cup was also pretty annoying. There is no way that they did not notice that this chip was on the edge of the cup. It was huge. Thank goodness I'm right-handed.

Stopped in this morning while bumbling about Bellingham for the first time, and wow! I went simple with "just" the biscuit (stunning!) and a lavender mocha, and it was all utterly delicious. Great, friendly staff and a really fun location too. Go soon!

Good service, good enough coffee, music a bit too loud for a morning coffee.Only gripe, and a big one, WAY overpriced!More expensive than some of the best coffee shops in some of the most expensive cities in the world. $6 for a cortado? Sorry, I don’t mind spending money but can’t justify coming back here for the prices. Didn’t feel good with the prices and then a recommended 20-25% tip on top of that for a short espresso drink. Bummer as it could be a place to return to otherwise. Local friends feel the same

Walked in to get a coffee, didn't know the hours, but the door was open. Didn't even get a greeting, just sorry we just closed... lock the door maybe? And someone was inside still enjoying a beverage... kinda bummed but oh wellWho closes at 2pm anyhow 😉

The quality of -everything- is just amazing. I was like, “Omg finally good brunch food in Bellingham!” The mushroom hero tea with milk and honey is the best drink I’ve ever ordered anywhere. The people who work here are super cool and nice.

Love the drip coffee and the space. Staff is warm and friendly. Lots of light and clean aesthetic make this a nice space to relax or work from. Dealbreaker for me though and the reason I won't be back is cost of drip coffee and no free or discounted refills. If you're going to charge a premium $4.50 for a cup of drip, then give a free refill or charge a token amount for refills like $0.25 or $0.50.

My husband and I were very pleased to find Narrative coffee and have very much enjoyed the coffee we have purchased there, however, the last two mornings have been very disappointed with our experience. We ordered an 8 oz latte to go and both mornings have been very dissatisfied with the barista (a gentleman in a beanie). He puts less effort and care into making a latte then we do when we make them at home for ourselves, friends, and family. He steams the milk and then just dumps it into the latte without putting any effort into making latte art. When you pay over $6 for a latte, at minimum, I expect the barista to take enough pride in their work to attempt latte art. He didn't even try. Quite frankly, at that price, I expect the barista to be an expert at latte art and for it to be a given when you order a drink. In retrospect, I wish I would have handed him back the latte and asked for my money back. We've been to coffee shops all over the world and have never experienced this kind of service from a high end shop that takes pride in their work. I am not sure I will return to this establishment given the lack of care put into making such an expensive drink. I don't mind paying a premium when you receive an excellent product and service, but that is far from our experience at Narrative.

Super torn on this place! It's delicious, but way overpriced. I ordered a 16oz iced vanilla latte and it was $7.75 (before tip). I don't mind paying that much for a unique specialty drink but this was a basic drink with regular cows milk. Chocolate chip cookie is very good ($4).
