I'm not a handy person and get easily overwhelmed in hardware stores, but every time I come in the folks who work here truly go the extra mile and are down to troubleshoot whatever problems you're facing. Today I went in for help unjamming a part stuck in my lightsaber, and instead of feeling completely silly, I got help drilling the piece out free of charge. Will definitely use this store for all my hardware needs in the future!

Another very pleased customer. I'm usually approached by staff who help me find what I need and offer sage wisdom a long the way. They always seem to have the odds and ends I need to complete a project and alternative ideas for me if they don't. It is such a solid, good experience.

Competency and overall quality of floor staff appears to still be high however the competency and disposition of management is extremely poor and appears to be in continual decline. Have shopped here for years to support what HS used to be but am now better off shopping at nearby corporate chains (Fastenal, Lowes, HD Fowler, etc) for better selection and prices along with the same or better management than Hardware Sales. Perhaps it is no surprise that Amy Siniscarco was able to embezzle over $1M funds at Hardware Sales under their watch if this is the new normal of management competency.

Hardware Sales's part rep Curtis was able to purchase an item for me from a local distributor that was wholesale only, all while 5 minutes before they closed which fixed my furnace and gave me heat for the night. Thank you Curtis!

Mike Packard is the person to see at Hardware Sales if you need a knife sharpened. He did a terrific job of hand finishing a serrated bread knife that another sharpener had worked on with machine.

If I win the lottery, this is the first store I would go to. It’s also the only hardware store that I would ask advice from the staff and feel confident that they know what they are talking about.You could send your wife in here with a random flange or bolt and tell her to ask someone to help her to find the pieces you are looking for and they will.Seriously one of my favorite places to find new tools I probably don’t need or small things to finish the projects I’ve been working on for years.

rude staff, store is unorganized and hard to walk through. it’s dark and confusing staff isn’t knowledgeable on the items and unkind when you ask. store isn’t kid friendly staff where very rude and unwelcoming made my son uncomfortable aditionally lots of sharp stuff places on bottom shelves i’d worry if i had a toddler. things are also extremely overpriced here, just go to lowes or home depo i don’t believe anyone is helping bellingham by supporting this business; the people that own this store and work here think they are better than everyone else and treat people very bad and they have been stealing shopping carts from other local businesses that may not seem like a big deal but shopping carts are costly and the other businesses must pay for the ones hardware sales steals which is funny since hardware sales is so strict about shoplifting, it must only be ok for them to steal, i think these people got rich running an honest business and maybe back in the day it was a good place to shop but now they are unkind and expensive and act like because they are a local business that they are so much better than any other store

I brought a screen in to be rescreened. I was told that my metal tabs would be fine to be reused and it should be very easy. When screen was competed cheap plastic tabs replaced the sturdy metal ones and the plastic pieces placed in the corners of screen no longer allowed it to fit in window. One tab broke off immediately and screen folded. Cheap job, poor quality repair. I will never use Hardware Sales again. 35 year relationship out the window. Disgusted.

After 6 years of shopping casually at Hardware Sales, today the team did an absolutely amazing job of customer service- and it's earned my business for life! I needed a new chainsaw, and the team went absolutely above and beyond to ensure I found the most correct tool for my property. Not only did they take their time with walking me through the various models, they made sure I understood starting, stopping, maintenance, and adjustment. HUGE thanks to the team at the lawn and garden department! The only thing worse than spending too much money is not spending enough... But perhaps a pushy sales person is worse? ZERO push from these guys, just a realistic look at what I would- and would not- need for my purposes. I ended up spending over $700 with them on a really nice tool, and I'm relieved to know I've got exactly the right tool. And these guys will be there when it's time for service. Thank you Hardware Sales!

The big box stores have not been helpful. Yesterday, I stopped by Hardware Sales. I was inquiring about a water valve for my dishwasher line and Davey in plumbing, quickly showed me exactly what I needed. From now on, because of this great employee service, I will always shop for hardware at Hardware Sales.

I can’t always afford to shop here, BUT if Lowes or HD don’t have it, they definitely will. I imagine they have nearly the same overhead as a box store (with a much higher employee to customer ratio) which leads to the prices being a bit higher, but when you need something you need it. If I am on a project and I am stalled out with little time to go hunting I just pay the convenience tax and go straight there. Unless it’s Sunday….and I forget they are closed…then it is brutal and I swear a little.My one gripe with this place is that you really don’t know if you are going to get the “sweet helpful” person or the “gruff done it all I have things to do so here it is” person when you stop someone for help.

My favorite store in Bellingham as I could wander the aisles but their consistent tendency to help always sends me in the direction and support I need to handle an old or new (to me) task with the supplies required at a decent price.

A friend recommended me this store. She told me they have everything you can imagine/need. What I didn’t expect, aside from finding everything I needed, was just how great the service would be. Until that day I had not realized just how much I’ve missed having real honest to goodness “service”. Nowadays you go into a store and the staff point you in the direction of what you ask for and leave you there. They don’t care if you find it or not, or if it’s even the right thing. Not here. This will be my go-to hardware store from now on. Thank you for having what we need and helping us find it!

Three things are true about Hardware Sales every time I visit:1) I can never find what I'm looking for on my own.2) But they do always have exactly what I need3) And a sales associate will always be able to find it for me.It may be a confusing maze (and I kind of love that... it's seriously fun to just wander if you're not in a hurry) but the inventory and customer service here is on a scale you just don't see elsewhere.

A frequent stop of mine. Usually the first place i look for things. Staff is friendly and can be a good help (and importantly are able to be found). Only giving 4 stars as more and more stock has become imported or i have found some sub-par brands replacing ones i used to buy here (the reason it is no longer my first stop for some items). Unfortunately due to this, i have to swing by a different store, or check online for some items (as a note for folks reading reviews i am very particular about things i buy, especiallly hardware and tools).A good selection of nuts and bolts etc, larger than most other hardware stores. Mostly imported, but i have not found an alternative domestic supplier for most of those.Rental shop i would seperately give a 5 star rating. I do not use it too often, but have been happy the times i have rented from hardware sales.

This is the go-to place for biz needs. They have an extensive inventory for all sorts of things you might need to run your biz: landscaping equipment, rentals (everything from ladders to heavy machinery), pressure washing, nuts and bolts and all the small misc pieces that keep your machinery running smoothly, absolutely anything you might / will need is here. They have excellent, knowledgeable customer service staff as well.

Truly appreciate the personal service. Always willing to help. The will call / pickup is really a blessing right now with COVID. Such nice, helpful staff! they have items we can't find at local big box stores. Don't plan on shopping anywhere else. Highly recommend!

Amazing diversity of stock plus amazingly knowledgeable and helpful staff. I needed a specific bolt to repair grandchildren’s seesaw. Young lady kept looking for correct thread. Turned out it was metric and she figured that out! Far superior to the big box stores

I cannot say enough about this family owned hardware store. This is one of my favorite stores of all time. If you do home improvement you need to visit this store. You will be amazed of the amount of things this store has. If you can't find what you're looking for be sure to ask. The staff is knowledgeable and can provide ideas for whatever project you are working on. Many of the employees are ex tradesman with lots of experience. Go here before you go to any big box stores.

Great place to get supplies and tools. They have lots of odds and ends. Staff are very helpful and the store is filled with them.There's a building supply shop and they rent tools and ladders.There's also a chainsaw repair shop.

I love this place. Better selection than generic hardware stores, and the staff is actually knowledgeable. I was looking for an obscure valve for a pet project of mine, and a worker went out of his way to go checkout what was in the back and present me with a cheaper option that would do the job.Highly recommend this store to everyone.

I went looking for women’s work clothing for my job. When I asked why there only had men’s clothing stocked. I was told “that’s all that is ever requested” and “women just wear the men’s stuff.” (Not true - women’s work wear has a very different cut and fit and sizing) When I threw out that thinking was a tad bit sexist - the manager just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Wow - completely dismissed on so many levels - I will never shop there again. Maybe they’re losing market share cause they’re ignoring 50 percent of the market.

Good selection. OK prices. A lot of employees. Was nice at first, got me to where I wanted to be. Also, the lady working upstairs was great. But the feeling wore off. The layout and good selection of products seems to be great for the wanderer. But some of the employees seems like they want you in and out. I wasn't sure if they wanted to help or thought I was stealing. Made me feel nervous. Got a "Locals Only" vibe.

Although I have not shopped at this place very much because I am usually not the one doing the buying, I have been to this store on many occasions! This place also is reviewed all the time over the years by many of my grandpa's and uncles. Nobody has ever said anything bad about hardware sales. From what I have seen the customer service is always very informed and will help you get exactly what you need. They are prompt and they are very knowledgeable. I feel like as I am in there visiting that these people really have a good idea of what in the world you are actually doing. That is exceptional when most of the rest of the world has not a clue. If you have to ask me to rate the expertise in the quality of and knowledge of the service at hardware sales, I would say it is a 5 star service! Good job guys it seems to me you have an excellent understanding of what things are being sold for and not just a package. But the actual concept! Good job I am certain from what I hear you guys aren't hardware sales for NOTHING!
