We are very pleased with the bathroom vanity Grain and Shine made for us. The quartz counter top is lovely and the cabinet seems durable. It did take a bit longer than we were first told, but Dave did a great job installing it. We ordered in early January and it was ready by the 29th. It was well worth waiting for due to the quality of product and thorough installation.

After a significant amount of research on having my cabinets and countertops replaced, I’m so glad I went with Dave and his team (Grain and Shine Countertops) for numerous reasons. As you can see from the pictures, my kitchen is a unique shape so I needed someone very capable to make the countertop slabs fit together. Not only can I not even see the seams, the amount of detail Dave put into his work is remarkable. As any old home, nothing is completely straight. Meaning, the backsplash had to be adjusted very carefully to line up, without any gaps. Dave went above and beyond to make sure this kitchen was done perfectly.He made sure to pay attention to the little things, as if it were his own home.All in all, I’m very satisfied with my choice of Grain and Shine for the quality, the price point and the professionalism. I will be recommending this team and using them for my future home remodel projects.

With much thought and research We decided to go with Grain and Shine and We are sure happy we diid the out come was amazing we went with the shaker style cabinets and Granite for our counter tops and both worked great for us. We had done our homework and no one could beat Dave's prices. To save money my husband decided he would put the cabinets in him self, but when it came to the crown molding he was not comfortable and asked Dave to step in and Dave was great about it. Dave also did the installations to make our cabinets functional with the hardware that they needed. After the cabinets came in and the granite was ordered I had another request and asked Dave if I could order another piece of granite for the fireplace , he smiled and said yes. He was very accommodating to us. He was kind and pleasant to work with. We would highly recommend him.

Grain and Shine Countertops is THE COMPANY TO CHOOSE for new countertops, for tile, for remodeling a kitchen or bath. Dave Hewlett is the owner. He works with you every step of the process and is involved directly with making sure the process proceeds as he expects it to. He is very knowledgeable. He can envision what the end result will look like in a way that a novice homeowner cannot. He had great ideas. He knew where to place a seam on our countertop to insure the flow and beauty of the design. Three other companies were going to cut it in the most visible spot for their own ease of making it. It would have been a major mistake. Dave knew where not to put tile to increase the beauty of the final product. He levelled some new cabinets on an unlevel floor. Dave does some of the work himself. He has an employee to help him with tile who does eccellent work and is a pleasure to be around. Dave hires a countertop company to make the countertop. That company has excellent employees also. Dave was right there making sure all was right when our countertops came. He was not satisfied with how one piece looked and he had the company remake it 2 times to get it just right. Our kitchen project took us a couple of years and we went to probably all the local companies before choosing Grain and Shine. We found no other that would give us a cohesive process where one person would follow through with the process with you. They were all involving several not really interested employees doing a portion of the process. Thank you Dave.

Dave misled me on the color of granite he was installing. Now that the remodel of my business is complete, you can really see how out of place and bad blue looks in a room full of browns and woods. He told me black with silver flecks that would match our existing counters. Couldn't have been more wrong!Also, Dave trash talked my former landlord that I have a good relationship with.If you do business with Dave, make sure you don't go off of his word on colors!

I called Dave after reading great review for him and Grain and Shine. We live in South Whidbey Island, and that is VERY far from Bellingham, WA. We went up and met Dave, and in one meeting we chose everything for the kitchen. His cabinets are fantastic and beautiful. The countertop expert that he works with is professional and prepare to install without any errors or drama. Our kitchen is stunning and efficient to use. Dave included all of the inserts, pull outs and extras that I asked for!!! He came all the way to Whidbey, to install and then to follow up. Cannot ask for more.

Came in and recommended granite to me based on granite already in my bar. I wanted black. Dave knew this. He said it was black with silver specks. That was a lie. He knew what we wanted, and gave us something completely wrong anyway. He sold us something with Blue Labradorite. 100% not what we were led to believe we were getting and could not clash with our rich wood decor any more.We told him "hey there's blue labradorite in this" and he said "oh really?"Dave doesn't know what he's doing.Then, "if you don't pay this invoice in 10 days I'll put a lien on your business" is wildly unprofessional. I don't think they work with commercial businesses much at all so you might want to find another company in general.Your check went out Dave, our accounting department doesn't just do things same day. That's not how businesses work. Show some restraint and professionalism.Edit; Dave is now claiming he never met me, but I was there when he measured and gave him our contact information personally.Yes we wanted discount remnants, but we wanted BLACK.
