We ordered food to go. We ordered chicken pot pie, a sandwich w/chips and a side of potato wedges. What they did was throw a small amount of wedges in with the sandwich and did a 50/50 mix with the chips. This is not what I asked for nor is it what I paid for. When I called back to speak with a manager, a woman, by the name of Lily.W, was handed the phone (this happened to be the same person who took my order) and she proceeded to argue with me that Colophon did nothing wrong. She said that she was not willing to do anything to fix the situation aside from come in and get a couple more potato chips. I thought this was very unprofessional of her to argue with me and a very wrong way to handle the situation. I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid with my auntie but I will not be returning. Just a god-awful experience.

One of my favorite restaurants to go to. They are a little pricey but is absolutely worth it. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is very comfy and relaxing. While all the food is amazing, if it is your first time coming I would recommend the African peanut soup as it is especially amazing.Parking: There is street parking and depending on the time it can be difficult to find a spot without having to walk a bit but it is possible.

Absolutely delicious clam chowder and molasses roll! The raspberry lemonade was so refreshing! Great service as well. Definitely coming back the next time I visit Bellingham😁

This cozy cafe is a perfect stop for a day trip to Fairhaven! We found it from a blog post and are so happy we did. Colophon is actually located in the basement of an olive oil tasting room (be sure to grab an oil and vinegar from there too 😉)The food was great and their potato wedges were fresh and well-seasoned. We had a cappuccino, the veggie burger and the bacon cheddar burger. All was served quickly and fresh. We absolutely recommend!

Stopped in for brunch, five of us walked in with no wait. The food was solid and service efficient. Curious to stop back in for happy hour!

Over the course of nearly three decades we out-of-place Texans have made a point of visiting Fairhaven’s Village Book Store and the adjoining Colophon Cafe whenever we’re in the region. The cafe NEVER disappoints. They’re always surprising us with wonderful new specials and twists on traditional dishes. The service is always so caring and swift. And the atmosphere is, well next to one of the coolest book stores in Upper Left USA!Parking: Paid parking along the surrounding streets

Came across this café while walking around the Fairhaven district. We chose an outdoor patio table which faced a courtyard, very relaxing and scenic for lunch! Service was prompt and friendly. Our group of 2 decided to share their featured Raspberry Spinach Salad and a Smoked Salmon Melt. Our server was nice enough to take the initiative and split the order, so it arrived in half portions. Unfortunately with the melt, the bagel base loses its crunch. However, it still tasted good. The spinach salad was refreshing, but we had to ask for the bread that came with it (baguette or whole wheat). Partway through our meal, the server actually realized the raspberries were missing from our salad, and brought them to us. The were fresh and plump, but it was interesting receiving them "on the side." They have some different portion offerings of their salad and toast/bagel options, so it's nice for those who want a lighter meal.

Great place to eat after walking the "SouthBay Trail". The sandwiches can be ordered by "halves". I had the B-BAT... Really tastey, bread was fresh as well as the bacon and vegetables.Great atmosphere to meet friends or family with food.

A lovely restaurant right on the Fairhaven Village Green. Dine in or dine outside weather permitting, either or, you are sure to enjoy a wonderful meal with terrific service. We live in Fairhaven so it's a short walk from home. A glass of wine and some nibbles on an early afternoon is so very "civilized"! Sitting outside watching the families with their children play in the park, or maybe a wedding is in progress, possibly a family gathering on the grass, it's all very safe, comfortable and SOOOOOOO Fairhaven. We shared the Smoked Salmon Plate and the Cheesy Sriracha Spuds, they were both excellent. The spuds don't look like much when they arrive (see photo) but they taste terrific! Downtown Fairhaven has so much to offer with it's other restaurants, small shops showcasing clothing, souvenirs, cooking oils, ice cream, antiques, locally made art / ceramics etc. to breweries and an amazing view, it has everything once could ask for. Shop local.

It has been years since I have been here - and it is even better than I remembered. There wee so many things on the menu I wanted to try - the soups looked amazing! A little warm today for that, so a chicken burger and a sandwich, both of which were excellent and large enough we took half home. The wedge fries were perfect. Service was quick and friendly and fun! Located next to village books, a great place to peruse purchases or take a break from shopping. Or just walk up to for a meal.Parking: Parking is on the street, but a very walkable neighborhood. Also busy ...

We had an excellent lunch here. The mushroom sandwhich was prepared well. If you want to try their soups, they offer a sampler of three, which is a meal in itself. A rare find is the African Peanut Soup - which I liked.Comfortable home environment. Efficient and professional wait service.

This place has really great pea soup. Everything else is pretty average and a bit pricey. In the summer months it can get really warm inside. They don’t have any kind of air conditioning which can be rough. Service is always on the slower side, so don’t come if you’re in a rush. It’s definitely a place you should check out if you’ve never been to Bellingham or Fairhaven. However, I can’t say it’s a place I frequent as a local.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy which was on the sandwich board as a special. It came cold and coagulated with an over-booked cold egg as well. The color was dark gray and it was very hard to even eat a few bites. I was with two others who had sandwiches and our bill was 86 dollars.I’ve eaten here for three decades and this was very disappointing.

What a great spot!!! We were able to sit outside with my dog and enjoy lunch on the patio. And that meant, we also got to enjoy a burst of sunlight too! Menu was great and service was lovely!

Passed by this place so many times and always wanted to try it. Felt like soup on a gloomy day and was delighted to see many options on their menu. They even had a fun soup sampler that came with all the different soups. Picked the African peanut one and wow was it good! It came with delicious fresh bread, which I accidentally dropped, but the server was nice enough to bring me a new one free of charge. I’ve been craving this soup ever since. Will have to come back!

So happy this place is still around. While the 90’s bookstore cafe vibe is gone, the updated food and cocktails, the outdoor seating on the park is a gem spot.Peanut soup is still great. Great friendly service during sun/covid days.

I felt like I was in Europe!Great location and delicious soups (we’ve tried Clam Chowder and Zucchini cheese one).P.S. Chai Latte wasn’t the best though, but it’s excusably due to the nice atmosphere:)

This is a quaint little spot to have a nice meal. Brunch was fantastic. We had the French toast bake and the ham/cheese croissant. In addition, we got a side of the peanut soup. It was AMAZING! While the brunch was good, the soup would be the reason for us to come back. This isn't a spot for a quick meal but is a great spot for a nice meal.

Food was hot, chicken moist. Too much brie and pickles taste was off putting. Salad was good not enough should have gotten fried. But, the cake the cake was out of this world. Chocolate cake drizzled with fudge icing and whole chocolate chips. I will go back get food this. The cake is rich moist and pure decadence.Dietary restrictions: I have acute allergies. So, a lot of items on the menu I can't eat.

Three of us as a family went to the café 2 weeks ago on the beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We sat at outdoor table, the waitress came and chat friendly with us. I noticed that most customers chose to sit out and indoor dining was not busy. Three of us ordered two sandwiches and one simple burger. The drinks came fast but we waited for about 45min for food. The table next to us came with a couple much later than us and they complained about no service. The result was they got immediate attention and was served with food and left before we even got our food. The food part was just OK, I had a couple of sliced small portion of chicken breast (not grilled) on my sandwich with some potato chips (looks like out of regular grocery store potato bag), the sourdough bread was not toasted; and it tasted a bit stale . The burger was ordered to be without veggie but it still came with it. The point is the food wasn't anything great and portion was small. We've been to this place before and liked it; but this time it's quite disappointing. I guess we'll take a break for now for this restaurant ;<

The food here was really good and the amount was ample. The staff is also very hospitable and pleasant. They have some vegeterian/vegan options which are also tasty. The coffee was good too. Pretty chill environment inside
