This is the friendliest and most helpful hardware store in Bellingham. I needed 20 paint stir sticks to build catapults for an elementary church class activity, and they gave them to me for free! Makes me want to bake them cookies or something.I better get on that🤩

I was charged for a part that I didn't buy and when I brought in my receipt to get my money back I was told I didn't have a part to return, that it had been 18 days and that the security cameras refreshed after 8 to 10 days. I was also sold the wrong parts twice. I'll never go back there and buyer beware!

Tried to return a defective $20 bathroom fan. Didn’t keep my receipt because hey, $20 bathroom fan right? 🤷🏼‍♂️ They wouldn’t take it back 😂 Explained I had the card used to purchase it but that didn’t matter. I just left the thing on the counter and walked out. Way to go helpful hardware place! Way to take a stand on an outdated receipt policy over $20! I’ll never go back to this Ace or and Ace. Hope the $20 was worth it 🤦🏼‍♂️I’ve seen the defensive replies to negative reviews. Also seen a bunch of fake positive reviews. Instead of being snarky, why don’t you do something about your business practices? Not sure how you thought it was about wether your return policy was posted. It’s about an awful policy. Good luck!

The employees are friendly and eager to help so I had high expectations with their service. unfortunately, I was rather disappointed with their carpet cleaner rental. I rented the Bissell Little Green Pro and bought a bottle of bissell shampoo as well. Brought it home and the moment I turned the machine on, it was dripping water constantly ( It is supposed to only spray water when you hold the button). I brought the machine back and told them I could not clean anything since the machine is making everything so wet. And the employee processed my deposit without the refunding the rental cost. I was so surprised. After a bit of back and forth , I managed to get part of my rental cost back.It's also disappointing because I rented the Big Green machine from them a few weeks earlier and its dirty water leaked on the carpet in the new nursery that I was trying to clean. So I was renting the Little Green to fix that mess ( which did not work anyway ) .So go rent elsewhere or get them to test the equipment before you check out (if possible).

We’ve had a freeze the past few days and I’ve been concerned about the hummingbirds. I stopped by the local Ace Hardware and they had clamp lights ready and waiting at the counter. The clerk said they sold about 30 yesterday! Thank you Ace for anticipating our needs, and keeping the little guys safe and warm.

Every time i go, i seek out Sean. He’s helped me when i need advice for home repair or project ideas. He’s a pro at sizing any sort of screw or bolt. He takes the time to explain his process as he’s looking for something. One can tell he loves educating folks.Thanks Sean, you made my motorcycle project attempt number 2 a much easier go.

bought four fans that i tried and are very poor quality. went back to return them and the employee said the owner has stopped taking fan returns for the year. the receipt clearly states returns can be made. also the employees were venting that the owners do not allow the AC to kick on while dealing with these heat waves. sounds like ownership needs to reflect on how they treat customers and employees.

Hi,I just moved here and motorbikes from Seattle to Bellingham. Some of my screws went missing due to vibration and i was at a risk of losing my sissy bar. I went to this store and Austin and another helper(forgot his name) helped me end to end. They found the right allen key, bolts, bolt threading stuff, and helped me put it on my motorbike so I can safely go home.Please thank Austin and promote him for helping a customer without a hesitation. He's a knowledgeable worker and is a valuable employee to any companyAnd yes I bought all the tools they used on my bike.

This store really stands out with it's excellent customer service. Lots of employees around to help out, and a great selection of just about everything! Joe was extremely helpful and even brought out a battery so I could try out a few of the Ego powered lawn care accessories. If you value a hardware store where you can get quick assistance, this Ace will do you well.

Horrible! The moment I walked into the store I was followed and asked a dozen times if I needed help finding something. Keep in mind I was in the store with my young daughter and I am not a thief!! When I wanted to use a member coupons, I was told that I would not be allowed to use two coupons at the same time. I said I would be happy to do two transactions if that would be easier. I was denied to use two coupons and I was told the owner didn't like losing money. Really? Well, I will never shop here again. One I was treated like a thief, and two I was not able to use my member coupons.

Great location and very helpful. The manager, Shawn, helped me out yesterday with a bolt that was stripped on my Jeep. Came outside to the parking lot and worked it free with the correct size wrench. I ended up buying the wrench plus a few other items. I have always found this location provides great customer service recommend that you shop at this Ace.

Horrible management and even worse customer service. The manager Shawn followed me throughout my time in the store constantly asking me if he could find something for me. Not help but find something. After the fourth time of asking I simply replied that I want to spend money in your store but I’m just browsing at the moment. He came off very judgmental as if he thought I was going to shoplift. My wallet and keys are in my hand mind you. He then said that he wasn’t open if I didn’t know what I wanted and told me they were closed. I’ll never go to ace hardware again. I didn’t feel welcome and it didn’t feel like my neighborhood hardware store. Shawn has no business being in customer service and mostly no business being a manager. I will be shopping and browsing where to spend my money elsewhere in the future.

Great customer service, perfectly organized, easy to find what you need. We're new to the area, and my partner (an inveterate do-it-yourself guy) had initially been going to the two area big-box stores for his hardware needs, with mixed success. Less than five minutes of walking around this place, and he says, "I am never coming anywhere else ever again".

Joe and Carson at the Sehome Village location went above and beyond to help me!! It was a busy time, but they made the time for each and every customer, maintaining eye contact, and informing each individual as needed.I had never been in the store before, and came in looking for a brake light, not knowing if they had it or not.Their staff’s efforts stood out, and I will be returning for any further hardware needs thats I may... need :DKudos!!

Love this place. A bit crowded but they have everything you could want. All the hardware you might need plus gifts, knick knacks, garden supplies, candy, kitchen supplies and more. If they don't have it they will try to get it for you. Great friendly service. I love to browse. You never know what treasure you might find in the aisles.

They are always friendly and super helpful. Patient too, I came in looking for odds and ends to paint my living room and asked a million and one questions. They were kind and happy to answer all my questions even making sure that when I left I felt confident doing my project. I definitely prefer to shop here now.

I am posting this review after shopping here for the last four years. I've come to Ace for numerous projects over the years, their selection is larger than you would expect. Over the last several years one employee in particular, Dom, has really stood out. Every single time I come in he has a huge smile on his face and asks me what project I'm working on that day. Dom always knows where everything is and generally has quality thoughts on what items would be good for my projects. Heck, one time I came to ace for a bunch of random things and in our conversation I mentioned my headlight had just gone out. Dom says, we have some lets see what kind it is. Dom and I go out and pop my hood, he pulls out the bulb and finds the correct one, and get this! While I was checking out he replaced it for me! How is that for customer service!! Somebody get Dom a raise, he really contributed to this 5 star review over the last 3 years!! Overall this Ace is a good place to go.

Looking for a washer for a hand-held shower at the big box stores. No surprise, of course because it is not what everybody uses (really?), and they don't have it. Went to this Ace Hardware store and a frendly gentleman asked if he could help me say I needed. Within one minute he showed me the choices he had in stock. When time is money, this definitely helps a lot. Thumbs up for the friendly service and what makes this store different from the box stores.

Just walked in to the empty store and was told they can’t sell me a Discover Pass because they’re short handed.I know this pandemic is rough but, come on!2 stars because I’ve actually gotten what needed 1 of the 3 times I’ve been here, and the young lady was very nice.

Great store, has everything you need. Staff are not only very knowledgeable about everything in store but also super helpful. One employee even came out in the rain to help me find the part I needed for my bike, and the helped me install it right there which was beyond my expectations.
