They told me that if we didn’t accept their myopia management service (which is an expensive package), then I couldn't schedule appointments with them for regular eye exams anymore. Later, they informed me that it’s permissible to have the eye exam there, but I would need to pay $700 out of pocket per visit for the simple eye vision check. Avoid this clinic. They prioritize profit and exhibit an awful attitude if you don’t opt for their most expensive package.

Dr. Wang was great! I’m a daily contacts wearer and didn’t know there were differences in the quality and fit of different contact brands so she helped me find the one that fit best to my eyes.I also appreciated how helpful and patient the folks at Specialty Eye were with helping me find a new pair of glasses! I tried on over 10 pairs and never once did they express impatience over my indecision.

Had one mediocre appointment and purchase of new glasses in 2022, and have been hounded by phone calls from the business over the last 12 months to set up a new appointment. If you call 20+ times and I don’t set an appointment up, take the hint.Finally blocked their number and their email list address.

I have to resort to writing reviews here. I've got chalazion and infection and went to the doctor in the Bellevue clinic. The doctor was great and prescribed me an antibiotic to be sent to the Walgreens pharmacy. If the medicine didn't work, I would have to do surgery .The pharmacy did not have my medicine so I didn't receive it for a few days so I called up the Specialty Eye Care customer care to get my pharmacy changed so that another pharmacy that had it could give it to me immediately. It's been 5 days and 20 phone calls and the customer and prescription department has still not done that. There is no sense of urgency and total incompetency and inefficiency on their part to take this ahead. I don't understand how a patient who is in pain and not getting medication is not important. It's sad that the great doctors here will get bad reviews due to poor management and operations. It's been three weeks and I still don't have my medication. Definitely not coming back here despite having great doctors.Specialty Eye Care if you are reading this, then please provide my medication.Update: An hour later, I was finally told my prescription was sent to a new pharmacy.

Amazing experience! I came in for my appointment today and they were ready. Very professional and quick service, everyone was kind as well. They have an $85 fee that you wouldn’t find anywhere else but it’s worth it because of all their new technology and precise prescription capabilities. Highly recommended.

I've been seeing Dr. David Kading for many years and have been to all three of his offices in Seattle, Bellevue and Kirkland. His expertise in vision care is top notch and I've always enjoyed his candor and commitment to excellent customer service. His entire team is so friendly and fun to work with - a big shout out to Garlyn who helped me decide on my new frames. Dr. Dave has a new line of eyewear that he designed and was inspired by his family, and I'm happy that one his frames fit me perfectly! Five Stars for everyone!!!!!

I arrived a few minutes early, and check in was a simple verification of my ID and insurance. I was greeted warmly and was escorted back for my appointment on time. The tests went well and everyone was masked up and very professional and friendly. I got my prescription and looked at new frames and was helped as needed. Again, very friendly and helpful. I got the name of the frames I liked and checked out after paying my co-pay. Overall it was a good experience with no waiting and everyone was very nice and helpful. No complaints at all.

My experience with them was horrible. When I called to make an appointment the person who I spoke to kept misspelling my name and got my birthday wrong. I do have an accent, but I spelled out my name for her word by word slowly. I did not get the sense she was not putting an effort and her tone was short. I have a special condition on my eye and I went there just to get referred to a specialist. I saw a doctor and paid the fee at time of service. The place they said they were going to make a referral never received the referral after days, so I had to call around and make the appointment happen with the specialist without the referral. 7 month later I received a bill of $117.81 from this clinic and text/voicemail stating they were going to send this to collections. The bill had the owner doctor's name on it who was not I was seen by. I replied that I was not seen by the doctor in my statement. They replied "You're seeing a different doctor on the invoice because he is the owner of Speciality eye but don't worry they have the same speciality. Thank you!" and also told me I now owe them$139.02. I am confused and frustrated.

Providers at this location are great. I got examined by two of them and got excellent fitting for my glasses, as well they checked the back of my eye for other abnormalities. They did recommend further testing, which I’m still considering. One of them followed up and sent me a visit summary by email.The check in process could have gone better. I have filled out all my forms online before going there and they didn’t have any of it but I had to redo all of it by hand , minor inconvenience, but no service recovery attempts at reception.

Been going here for about 8 years when it was Binyon. Since it has become Specialty Eye Care the service has been the same, but definitely more expensive. They push lots of extras that are not covered by my insurance and charge what seems to be a large fee for contact exams.Recently I got Lasik surgery and out of conveyance used Specialty Eye for the pre and post operation visits. The pre operation visit seemed reasonable at around $265 which they let me know ahead of time the cost and is slightly more involved than a typical eye exam. These exams are not covered by my insurance so it was nice to know cost going in.The follow-up however after the Lasik surgery they did not mention cost. The visit a total of 15 minutes. I was then told the cost for the post operation exams is $650. It was then explained that this would cover two additional follow on visits. At $216 per visit for a at most 15 minute seems expensive. My main complaint is they did not explain this cost before hand. It might be what other offices charge as well, but I would have liked the opportunity to shop around before.

CHANGE IN BUSINESS OWNER. If you keep reading you’ll see this place has changed a LOT and for the worse.They have pretty deceptive practices. I texted them about making an appointment and got quoted a price. Then I called to ask how much I would have to pay and they said around $85 after insurance, yet when I walked out I had a bill of $169. I will not be going again and I would highly advise you to make sure that you get the FULL price because they like to sneak in really expensive exams that are not necessary. I have never found them to be done at any other place. I won’t be coming again for sure.I even called to see what they could do about it but they didn’t do anything.

Eye exam was very good - very thoughtful and personable care, and the only reason why I'm not giving 1 star.However, it's now week 3 of waiting for my new, first pair of glasses to help with migraines caused by eyestrain from work. I was told 2 weeks they would be ready, hopefully sooner. But when I called last week and this morning, they had no idea where the glasses are, and don't have a way to look it up.It doesn't really matter to me that the staff was "at a conference" - my eyestrain is causing me real issues, and the fact that no one can give me a clean answer on where the glasses I paid for are, or when I'll get them is incredibly frustrating. At least if they could tell me what is causing the delay I'd at least have an explanation as to why it's taking so long - as is, I have no info and no eta - I'm contemplating eating the cost of ordering glasses online just so the headaches stop!Very unhappy with the service I've received after I've paid.

I was very happy with how I was treated.The glass frames, though, were super expensive. Only go with theirs if you have no other way of buying and trying frames...

This is at least my 3rd visit to this office since the previous owner retired and I am missing the warm feeling that I had with that office personnel and the doctor. I felt confident with the testing and exam but I am a people person and there wasn’t a friendly feel from anyone and I wonder if anyone likes their job. When I was taken into the room I was carrying my jacket and purse and had to set them on the floor and mentioned that they needed a coat hook; I was told it was on the back of the door. From my perspective I am a guest and the “host” should observe that I need to hang up my coat and indicate where the hook is.When I was done with the exam they weren’t even interested in helping with new frames.

Found place on insurance provider list, close location. Eye exam went well, having multiple dr doing exam and verifying results. The service after the exam was poor, emphasis on hardware purchase at fairly high price for reading glasses. Didn’t expect copay for exam with multiple vision insurance, should have been made aware if there would be insurance issues or extra fee for certain test that is not covered.

I wish I had found this place years ago. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming, as well as being highly knowledgeable about their area of responsibilities. The Doctor is the most thorough eye doctor I've ever seen, and I've been wearing glasses for over 30 years.He is not a speedy examiner! If speed is important, take that into consideration. The trade off, in my opinion, is more than worth it. I'd rather have a doctor take his time and get the prescription correct (something my last doctor didn't do; only saw him once, and good riddance).I'd highly recommend these guys, apart from the speed caveat.

The staff is very friendly, polite and, professional. My daughter and I enjoyed ourselves. Also the woman Maykayla was very nice as well. My daughter was afraid of a few of the machines. Maykayla was patient and explained how everything worked every step of the way. Also no wait time at all. Overall we left feeling like we had good service.

When I went to do my eye exam around March 2021, the DR suggested that I do a few extra detailed exams and told me everything will be covered by my medical insurance.  Right now I've received a bill from them telling me that my insurance refuses to cover those detailed exams so I am responsible to pay it.  At that time If the DR didn't tell me I don't need to pay anything, I wouldn't do these extra exams.  And now it turns out I have to pay for everything. To me it's like a scam!!!

Honestly, everything about this place was a disaster. I had been a happy patient under the previous ownership, so thought I would give them a try. Everything was a mess.They charged me fees they didn’t disclose when I asked over the phone, they put a rush on my new glasses and then never called (even after weeks) to tell me my glasses had arrived, they said they would ship my contacts and never did, and their outgoing message even says the wrong hours! Not sure if these are just new clinic growing pains, but they were miserable to work with and i’d go elsewhere. I hope this helps you make your decision.

Nice staff but don't seem competent. I'd gone in for eye exam and ordered lens and glasses. After I got them I immediately could tell they didn't seem right. My vision was distorted, which I'm used to when getting new prescriptions but this way more than normal. I tried to explain that to staff but they told me I'd get used to it. I tried for another month but it never got better and when I came in to make sure the prescription was done correctly, they said it was fine but didn't offer me any alternatives other than just get used to it. I went to another optometrist this year and had my eyes examined again and their prescription for me was different and when I got my lenses I could tell it was immediately much better and I adjusted in less than a week with progressives, which also were much better. Overall, I don't feel like my issue was treated with care or concern or that they tried to help me fix the issues.

I have been going to Specialty Eye for over 10 years. Dr.Dave Kading is an amazing eye doctor. He is knowledgeable, kind, caring, & personable. From the welcoming greeting as you enter from Eileen at the front desk, to Maykayla the tech who took customer service to a whole new level when she moved her own car so I could park there when no parking slots we’re available, & Garlyn who helped me pick out the most awesome pair of glasses- all such supportive staff that makes up a great team at Specialty Eyecare Group. At the Kirkland office, Amber is the best at scheduling & answering questions on insurance coverage. This office is full service for all vision care but are specialized in those who suffer with dry eye syndrome & consequences of that problem. Subsequently I was fitted for special contacts after cataract surgery & they diligently helped me get a perfect fit after trying 3 different sets which not only improved my vision but made it possible for me to wear contacts even with my dry eye syndrome diagnosis. This shows perfectly Dr. Dave’s commitment to do his best for his patients. Dr. Dave also has had many interns who learn so much from him in new techniques in eyecare to his awesome “bedside manor’ that puts patients young & old at ease. One of them, Dr. Bangu is a perfect example of someone who has flourished in her time here. She will certainly be missed at the end of her internship but there will be more doctors who will benefit from their time with this incredible group of eye professionals .
