Stopped by to get my child fitted for a riding safety vest. Appears to be a small/family business, but huge on the inside. We came in on a Saturday morning, and were immediately greeted, and fitted for a vest right away. The employees and the service was great. I was surprised about how many options they had, anything you could want for riding!On my way out, the employee even took a minute or two to give me faster directions home, as there was highway construction near by.I highly recommend. Drove an hour to get there, but next time I need riding equipment, I won’t hesitate to go back.

Absolutely fantastic shop near downtown Bellevue with very reasonable prices for not only the area, but any area in general. The saddle soap I purchased for my Schott Perfecto biker jacket is the best I’ve ever found, bar none (Stubben, and it smells really good to boot). Super nice staff without a hint of snootiness. I felt very welcome while I was there, which is something I can’t say about most high end shops in the Seattle area. Go here, I certainly will again.

Brought my 10 year old in for a helmet and safety vest fitting. The service was excellent, and all the staff so friendly. We checked out paddock boots, too, and I was impressed by the prices. So nice to find a great, local small business.

An amazing local tack shop with plenty of selection. Great brands including Ariat, DeNiro, and Fabbri.Plenty of show apparel and footwear but they also have an assortment of training gear and tack. The staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend if you’re in the area or live near by. Much better than buying online as the service and information you get from staff is so valuable.

They were twenty minutes from closing, and I was getting fitted for tall boots for the very first time. Jessica was so amazing and so patient with me as I asked a million questions and walked around the store. She was so helpful in getting me into the right boot that suited my needs as a rider. It’s very clear she is knowledgeable and I totally recommend going to her. She also stayed AFTER work (after working all day) to try and help jump start my car once we realized my car battery was dead. Girl you are so sweet and we are so grateful for your help.

I very rarely write reviews, but Justin and Olson’s Tack Shop deserve a thousand stars. Truly Justin delivered an experience that went far above and beyond expectations and certainly beyond his obligation! I ordered custom boots through Justin via phone and zoom. Justin never rushed me, he was so attentive and kind. He answered all of my questions, listened to what hadn’t worked in the past, and made me feel as if he was truly invested in building the perfect pair of boots. He also made suggestions that were absolutely fantastic, and saved me money! On top of that, I had a serious family crisis occur right in the middle of the process. Justin was so patient, understanding and supportive of my need to step away for a bit. I was a virtual stranger to him and he truly treated me like family. I had such an incredible experience that I ended up buying TWO pairs of custom boots from him instead of one. If you’re looking for any brand of custom boot, any discipline - you won’t regret giving Justin and Olson’s tack your business. They certainly have my business for the rest of my life - I will NEVER purchase boots, accessories, tack, etc from anyone else. Oh - and my new boots are absolutely stunning. Better than I ever imagined. Thank you Justin and Olson’s tack, from the bottom of my heart. You really are one in a million! ❤️

For a Dressage or any other English rider, this is a go-to tack shop. Prices are in the reasonable to high range but fairly average for the quality in stock. What makes the difference is the incredible customer service offered. Service was the same when I was buying a $10. item as it was when I was buying a $100. item and I would describe it as excellent!

We love shopping local even if we don’t live close by. Mike and his staff are so welcoming, knowledgeable, caring, fun and always go the extra mile! Wish we could go there more often but it is definitely a treat when we do stop by!! What a hidden gem of a place! So much packed into one store, and a lot of items I have ever only seen online. It's nice to get to touch and try on and purchase items locally. For a smaller store, they have a great selection of sizes and colors. We got great service. They do have a very small number of people they can accommodate in store during COVID restrictions, but they have the ability to schedule shopping appointments if you want to make sure you can get right in. We were lucky to have visited during a lull when no one else was shopping!

I am traveling through Seattle I figured I would make a stop into Olsons. Quite frankly the nicest well kept shop I've been in for a while with lovely staff. Was planning on getting some boots, tried many pairs on with help from Catie, who was absolutely lovely. Sadly my size was sold out but still had a really great experience seeing the good quality and variety of clothing and tack. I will definitely be back!Roxy :)

Really great shop. Lot's of high end choices along with mid level. Caters more towards the rider (clothes, tack, boots, etc), but has a great selection of blankets and day to day needs. Awesome used tack section. Staff are always friendly. Location is good.

I took my 12-year-old son to Olson's for riding gear. He has been taking lessons for over a year, and it was time to invest in something better than jeans and hiking boots for riding. The salesperson was extremely helpful. I told her that he is in the middle of his major growth spurt, so she immediately understood I wouldn't want the top priced items. For everything, from boots to chaps to helmets, she offered alternatives that were less expensive, so we would understand our choices. I was very happy, because we were able to leave with high quality items that weren't over-the-top in price and also left some growing room. I didn't sense any pressure to spend more than I wanted to, and she seemed very comfortable with finding options that worked for us. A great experience all around.

I absolutely love Olson's from any other tack store in WA! They have a lot of really nice apparel for showing and for riding at your barn! I absolutely love the service there! Everyone is so kind and nice, I always appreciate their help, which is always non-judgmental compared to a few other stores I've been to! I can always count on getting what I need and not having to have things ordered in! They are always great with keeping the merchandise plentiful! It is literally the equivalent of a girls favorite shopping mall, but for equestrians! I am not going to lie, it is expensive, but am always happy to be supporting a company who has been supporting the Northwest riding community for as long as they have! Also, they have created a new section of consignment clothes which is always a plus! So anyways, this is the top place I recommend not only for the merchandise, but also the costumer service!

I loved being able to take saddles home to try out on my horse and their staff was very helpful helping me pick the right fit for us both. They had all the right accessories on hand and made the whole process very simple.

Went in for the first time today - a bit apprehensive because of the snobbery I'd heard about. I experienced no snobbery whatsoever, and by no means do I look the part of someone who spends a ton on horse stuff. All I needed to buy was a pair of riding tights. I got the least expensive pair I could find. The sales person was chatting with another lady, and as soon as I approached the counter, she paused that conversation to help me. She offered to sign me up for their newsletter and was genuinely helpful and friendly. I'll go back there for sure.

They have moved to a much smaller store. I was very disappointed with the limited selection of clothing. They still have a good selection of boots and helmets. I used to shop here knowing they were more expensive but the large selection made it worth it. Not so much anymore 🙄

On September 7th, 2015, my friend purchased a used Neidersuiss dressage saddle that she had on trial from Olson's Tack Shop on my recommendation. In my former life, I was an independent sales rep and represented many different saddle companies over my career, and thought that this saddle was the best fit at the time. On September 8th, 2015, that friend was killed in a tragic car accident. On September 10th, I called Olson's Tack Shop to notify them that at some point in the next few days, this saddle was coming back to the store. I spoke with Courtney, the employee who answered the phone, and told her of the tragic loss of my friend and that the saddle was coming back. Courtney was very nice and acknowledged and agreed that the saddle would be coming back. A few days later, the owner of the barn where the horse is boarded, tried to return the saddle to Olson's with the receipt in hand. Mike Akers, the owner of Olson's would not refund the saddle. He had already paid out the consigner and basically said we were out of luck but that he would consign the saddle for 15% rather than the 25% he normally would take on its sale. When I found out about this situation, I tried contacting Mike Akers. I called 3 times and left messages before he finally answered my call. After a brief Hi, Mike immediately said he was sticking to his original decision of NOT refunding the saddle sale and immediately hung up on me. I tried calling him back to try to at least tell him my side of the story, but he wouldn't take my calls again. A woman tragically died. If she didn't die, there would be no reason for the saddle to come back. Olson's Tack Shop is NOT customer friendly!!! Mike Akers lack of compassion and heart in this terrible situation reflects a callus, unfeeling, money hungry business. I ask that before you spend money at this establishment, you look around .. Go to Woodinville to the Gift Horse Saddlery! The Gift Horse has offered to consign the saddle for NO FEE. Because this poor woman lost her life. I will never shop nor recommend that anyone shop at Olson's Tack Shop: a local tack store with no customer service or compassion.
