Prices are higher but a convenient place if you are looking for an alternative shop to get your groceries. The market is rarely crowded and is adequately stocked. Items on shelves are neatly organized and not past the due date. 4 stars due to flickering ceiling lights and lack of pricing labels on some inventory.

I only live a mile from this place so I spend a lot of time here. Prices are through the roof, but that’s to be expected when it’s not in town. the whole area by Walts has a lot of great things now like frozen yogurt, a burger joint and of course the beach.

Experiences here over the last 5 years have either been great or horrible and not much in between. One woman in particular who works here has a serious attitude problem. I understand I look young for my age, but it was completely unnecessary for her to call attention to me when I was standing in line so she could warn me she'd check my ID. When I got to the front of the line, she scanned my ID twice and looked it over like it would magically turn fake. She gave me a nasty look and I left completely shaken. I've had multiple bad experiences with her since then, including a time i was looking for a product, and she asked what i was looking for. She flatly denied that the product existed in the store, and another employee overheard who then helped me find the product. She's aggressive with groceries at the counter, and apparently so offended by my asking if i could have a bag that she suddenly switched another employee in to finish the transaction. What finally caused me to leave this review was my experience today over the phone. I called to ask if a product was in stock, and didn't even get that far. That same voice picked up after letting the phone ring until it was about to go to voicemail. She said something that cut out a bit, so i asked, "Hello! Is this Walt's? Down in Lynwood?" Instead of a friendly greeting, she slowly, condescendingly repeated what she had just said in a nasty tone: "Walts Market in Lynwood, how can I help." I was so taken aback by her tone that I just hung up. I don't understand why someone is taking up a spot in the job industry just to bully away customers. Every interaction I have with this employee is negative. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same woman mentioned in multiple other complaints.

A local institution, Walt's is the place to go if you need a quick item or to buy a lotto ticket. His selection of beer in the walk in refrigerator is quite excellent. I hear his burgers (served Fridays at noon) are a real treat as well.

Walt's is one of those magic stores that has everything you need, without variety. Lots of parking and you might bump into a neighbor while checking out. - An Island fixture, Walt's is easily 5 stars in my book. Great people, few choices, quick stop!

I just left this market after getting off from work. As I entered the store the guy behind the register turn off the lights. He did not speak, greet me at all, and he looks like he was just in a bad mood and ready to go. I normally get a very positive experience when I go to this market but tonight was really horrible. I felt rushed, ignored, and I also felt like I didn’t belong. Which is really bad because I live about three minutes from this market and I come here every single day . I will not be back again and that really makes me sad.

Love this place. I love stopping by with my friends to grab snacks and the staff are all super sweet. It’s one of my favorite places to hang out, actually. We like getting slushees and playing with the arcade machines.

I've been going here for lunch a couple times a week and it's awesome! Friendly staff, good hot and cold food, daily house made lunch specials... Prime rib dip Tuesday is the truth! I think they do breakfast as well. Thanks Walt's!

Feels like a convenience store felt growing up in the early 80s, or even farther back. If you want an item that's not in stock Walt will do his best to accommodate you. Customers are welcome to hang around the store and visit or eat lunch etc.

Walt's is a great neighborhood market. The owner Walt will go out of his way to make sure his customers leave happy. Good selection of fresh produce, general grocery, a deli and daily hotcase, and tons of wines and beer choices available.

They were open on Christmas morning, which I was grateful for since I forgot to buy bacon for breakfast. The owner was working and he was very friendly and engaging. It was my first time there, and I will definitely shop there again.

Really cute locally owned grocery store. I love the feel of this place. The owner Walt it's there a lot and is one odd the most friendly and helpful people I've ever seen in a grocery store. This place is a breath of fresh air.

Expect markups of 200-300% or more against retail, not wholesale. I am not certain if this market is just incapable of merchandising or simply wants to gouge natives and visitors on convenience.I don't mind convenience fees and helping small stores but T&C is way better priced by up to 3 times. There is no advantage to this store and it should be replaced with a co-op mini market.

Was on my way to a job, wearing a professional work uniform and I had to use the bathroom, so I stopped here and did, and as I was walking out the door an older lady with long grayish hair said “ God I wish they would let us lock our bathrooms” to another employee. Loud enough on purpose so I could hear. I got in my vehicle and she came out and looked at me and shook her head then got in her car and took her break. 👎 uncalled for

The lady allways looks at me with hate and my coworkers we shop there alot for lunch and everytime i go there she is very unfriendly bought a chicken club sandwich she said it had bacon on it there was 1 half piece of bacon on the sandwich cheap made food that is over priced I do not suggest going there this is not the only review I've left on this place or this lady the one good thing is the fresh made burgers on Friday the old guy is awsome and cooks a mean burger
