05/06/23: I figured out that this is the only Safeway store on Bainbridge Island. The store is stocked well with friendly staff. I feel like it is just a normal grocery store like other ones in Seattle. Would love to be back at some day

We’ve used Safeway pharmacy on Bainbridge for 20+ years now, but they have become so inept, our family has moved every prescription we have to Costco. Costco is a breath of fresh air!Take note managers! Most negligent pharmacy I’ve ever seen. They say something is ready or will be ready, but 2 weeks later they say still not ready. I can’t count the number of times they told me they hadn’t even received my requests from the doctor when I can see in my portal they have been sent days/weeks before.I could go on and on, but we are done with you Safeway pharmacy!

Got a cashier a few weeks ago she’s an older woman with blonde in her hair should longer fingernails and she was wearing surgical gloves. I was given a couple gift cards for the holidays and decided to use one. The woman was Remely annoyed right off the bat. She had the worst attitude. It was a new gift card I explained to her I wasn’t sure how to use it. I had two small kids with me. She seemed very frustrated so then she’s just started trying to scan it through, we didn’t realize that we needed to scratch a pen so then she starts scratching to remove the pin covering and was so frustrated that she had to remove her glove that she proceeded just a gouged the gift card up and kind of tossed it back at me she then just kept having me scan it and she kept scanning it and I was like are you sure this isn’t just going through multiple times again she was so annoyed she could barely muster up any kind of polite response at all just was like no it’s fine I left and the gift card should’ve had a balance on it and when I called to confirm the balance, of course it did not have anything left on it because she had been scanning it through so many times. so I called customer service back today after again checking the balance just to be sure. Just to say it’s unfortunate but this could be a teachable moment I talk to a woman who sounded pretty elderly. And was extremely defensive and I kept saying I am not wanting a refund. I know that I don’t have my original receipt for the transaction. I’m just letting you know that this happened and maybe it could be a teachable moment Well if you don’t even know who it is and have your receipt then I’m not doing anything about it. The woman was just rude and talked over me and I was saying I’m not trying to get anything from you. I’m just letting you know this woman depleted my gift card that was a nice little gift for me I’m a single mom and that’s money that was just wasted. She just kept talking and saying if you don’t have the receipt and you don’t know who it is, I’m not saying anything to anybody more or less so if you see her again, then you can say something to her. So I just hung up and I’m just shocked at the attitude I wasn’t asking for anything I wasn’t even asking for an apology. Just hey this is really unfortunate and maybe moving forward you guys could be more aware and instead it was well it’s your fault for not keeping the receipt, and if you have a problem with her when you see her you say something to her. I don’t think I’m gonna shop there anymore. I know it’s only store on island but it’s just insane the attitude.

Nothing but great things to say about this grocery store location, on Bainbridge Island, Washington. I've been coming up here for 49 years of my life now. Bainbridge Island, Washington is my Favorite Place in this Country. The employees at this Safeway, are fast, efficient, informative, and very polite. I come up here twice a year now, for winter and summer, and always shop at this store, with my Aunt, that lives on the island. Great Job Everybody at Safeway, especially The Pharmacy, which seems to stay busy non-stop. They do very well, with the little they have to work with.

If this is the Bainbridge Island Safeway, I love this store! Number one, it has a wonderful General Tso's Chicken. Actually all their hot food is quite good. The rest of the stores always well stocked and their staff is always friendly if I need help finding something.

The Bainbridge store produce is sketchy as I've had to throw out quite a bit of food. The deli's hot food is good, but on occasion when I get it home it's either burned or it's really old. Employees are friendly and helpful.

Excellent customer service and a friendly neighborhood store. They always have fresh produce and stocked shelves. The food quality in the deli & seafood departments is fresh & priced right. The Starbucks is a great perk, too. They go the extra mile to make sure that you have your needs met!

Easy to find what I needed. The cashier (tall, brown, and handsome born in the 60s) was super cool and easy. Just look for the squeeze for assistance on late-night runs! He may be multi-tasking!!

This Safeway usually has what I need, though they are frequently out of some items. The staff are helpful and friendly almost always. The store is usually pretty clean and at a good temperature, though there is nearly always something broken. For example, the west entrance door sounds terrible or doesn't open properly, one of the refrigerators sounded like it was completely broken, parts are loose on some of the fridges, etc. Just needs a good amount of TLC and maybe a renovation at some point. Overall a good store but it needs some work.

They are like most safeways. But. I think they get complacent sometimes because they're on Bainbridge and Island. They don't always have what MOST safeways have. They don't offer to order it. They just seem complacent in in ways that other safeways aren't. Eexcept for a few staff who go out of their way to help . Those few are exemplary. Too bad.

Well stocked. Good variety of organic products and produce throughout the year. Strong liquor and wine department for a neighborhood grocer. The staff are helpful and eager to be so. I'm holding back a fifth star until they have a better bulk foods area. Two store in the area eclipse Safeway's bulk efforts.

This is my Safeway store and I was thrilled when they came to Bainbridge Island. Recently my app doesn't work right and so it is a recipe for extreme frustration when trying to shop the sales. Also 3 times now the Deli hot food was absolutely terrible. It was burnt. General Tsos and the orange chicken. The rice was gummy and overcooked. Pleas remedy the quality of hot food. It use to be good. The server who waited on my was rude and I said "if you are making fresh that isn't burnt I will wait "and she said "we are not making fresh." I asked her to pick out the least burnt and she tried but it was inedible. Both the rice was gummy and overcooked and the genrals chicken and orange chicken burnt. I did not get her name but I should have. I shop this store 3 times a week and consider it my main store but this really bothered me. I do want to say in general it is a great store and the workers are generally great! Just fix the app so it works on more than just brand new phones. That's what corporate told me. I need the newest OS. I can't afford the latest and greatest phone. Also please fix quality of hot food in Deli. Thanks for your time. Over all you are a good store and I use the coupons.

Humiliating experience at the Safeway on Bainbridge Island in Washington State on 11/14/2022 around 5:00pm. I handed the cashier the 10% off coupon the Poulsbo Safeway gave me for getting my flu shot. The cashier got a manager. We then waited while the line grew. The manager accused me of having photocopied the coupon. In front of the growing line of people waiting because of the hold up. And in front of my son. I was absolutely mortified.I called the Poulsbo Safeway pharmacy and they said they’d contact the Bainbridge store and confirm the coupon was valid. This doesn’t change what happened, but I hope it keeps this location from ever doing this to anyone again.

New to the area, however I enjoy this Safeway very much. Store is always clean, fresh and stocked. Store employees have helped me multiple times whenever I had a problem at self-checkout also. Everyone there is polite and accommodating.

Recently renovated, this local Safeway is much improved. It hosts a nice meat and fish counter, along with organic fruits and veggies. Good selection of specialty products as well. Their wine and liquor department is outstanding. Did I mention the bakery??? It's great. All the staff are super friendly and they have a Starbucks as well. Narrow isles are my only complaint...and the parking can be tricky on busy days. But it's close and convenient!

This is a great store but made greater by the checker named Cookie. I seek her out each time because she will just make your day better. The store is nice, well stocked. Prices are not the best but nothing is inexpensive on Bainbridge..

The online ordering with FREE curbside pick-up has won me over. I moved to BI 4 years ago and dreaded going to this store (one of only 2 choices). The aisles were always crowded and blocked with silly displays and stockers. Items were hard to find and reach. The checkout lines were always long and the checkers surly. But now I don't even know if they still have these problems as I almost never go into the store. The website for online ordering is a dream! I now get all my staples here by searching on the website for exactly what I want. And then a super-nice person brings them to a parking place within about 3 mins of when I call.If they ever eliminate this service I will go back to getting many of the items either in Seattle or from Amazon.

I really like this Safeway the employees are so nice. Everything is clean, well stocked. I bought a composition book to store my phone numbers and things plus some shampoo and conditioner. Wish they had a place to sit and have coffee while charging my phone, except with the COVID I heard that's why they removed the chairs from the tables inside.

Store Is always clean and overpriced ad expected from a safeway branch, buy I've learned that by ordering through the app and clipping and utilizing the same digital deals I used to sideways look at posted in store all over and wonder why nobody in the staff team understands how I can use any if those deals. Frustrating. Live and learn. But now I'm happier to order through the safeway app and take advantage of those deals

Constant state of stocking shelves, which sounds good in theory, but you then have to dodge huge piles of product and navigate yourself out of their way, which isn’t really inviting. There is no friendliness and when I actually grocery shopped (vs a quick in and out), the checker just stared at me and I bagged my own stuff. I’m cool to help but dude, do you think you could help me out? Just another (yeah, I’ve tried to appreciate Safeway so many times before), “never again” experience. Like, ever. ;-)

I got two corn dogs, two salads, and a baked chicken breast on a Sunday evening. The corn dogs and salads were ok. The piece of chicken was like eating rock! It had obviously baked there all day.

I found an item with a reduced price sticker and decided that it was a good deal, I'll buy it. As you can see on the receipt, it rang up $1.50 over. I went through the self check out because it had no line. When I asked the helper clerk if he could fix it all he wanted to do was argue and make excuses as to why it had the wrong sticker but he would not adjust the price. I only have 30 minutes for a lunch break so pressing the point was wasting precious time. Y'all got to keep your .75 cents but irked a life long Safeway customer in the process.

Quality of fresh foods fair to good. Prices good. Staff very helpful and friendly. In-house Starbucks a plus.Some bulk foods. Basic groceries, lacks creativity. Recent store upgrade i.e. floors, paint, some aisle's widened, interesting display of Organic fruits and vegetables nice space. Typical plain Safeway older store with a few paint highlights and some shifting around within each section. Not eye catching upscale modern and creative. Not really much of a remodel.

Love this Safeway store staff. Must be good management because ALL staff could not be more helpful. Also, really appreciate protections in place during the virus crisis. Also, while shortages were anticipated, this store has maintained stock on necessities and much more.

I am from the Boston, Ma area and was on vacation in Bainbridge for 2 weeks. I rented a house so I needed to grocery shop quite often. This market was such a great surprise. Clean, well stocked, super nice employees!! Made my visit easy peasy.

Huge store with Starbucks, deli (make fresh sandwiches too), hot Chinese food order area, gas station, gas rewards for items you buy, multiple self checkout stands, but not many cashier stands available. The lines can get pretty long and no one (employees) seems to see people getting uncomfortable standing or leaning over their cart waiting to pay. It would be nice if they implemented the "house rule" of opening another stand if there's more than 3 customers in a line. Then if you ask for another checker, the employees become rude to you. Like how dare I ask for a little quicker service.....I prefer Albertson's in Kingston.
