A really nice and complete corner store and nursery. Limited but good selection of plants, fresh produce and frozen goods, great selection of outdoor clothing and shoes, and eclectic mix of gift items such as t-shirts, books, dolls, etc. A very interesting store to stop at during your visit to the island.Plenty of street side parkings and easy to find location.

Here it is mid-December and they still have a great selection of plants, trees and if they don't have it they'll strive to get it. Over multiple decades Bay Hay has never dropped a beat in service and quality. They know plants and offer sound advice. So much more than a nursery.

Always a real pleasure to shop here. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Plants, ceramic pots, fertilizer, food, clothing and much more. All high quality. And fun to simply browse, and I generally hate shopping. Did I mention live turkeys?

We happened upon this location and were so pleasantly surprised by all the fun things and the great plant selection! A truly local gem with a wide selection of pots, fountains, cedar furniture, trellises, local foods, gifts, seeds, tools, & more! It’s not to be missed if you visit Bainbridge, and it’s barely 10 minutes from the ferry terminal. There’s a cafe on site with homemade granola and other treats. We grabbed a coffee and easily walked around for over an hour enjoying all the hidden treasures.

It was my first time visiting Bainbridge Island today. Had a great time browsing Bay Hay & Feed, which carries a variety of clothes-- Carhartt, Columbia, and more. I also visited the gift shop and picked up a few things.

All-around island treasure! Wonderful plant selection and knowledgeable employees; you can purchase children’s clothes, toys, and books; clothes for adults; wine for adults; visit with neighbors and employees; fill your pantry and frig with healthy food; by hay for your animals or your garden; have a cuppa tea; and go home smiling after one-stop shopping.

Love the clothes! Prices are steep though. Can probably find most of the non-Bay Hay items for cheaper elsewhere. BUT, if you want to support local businesses, this is a great one to support.

We accidentally ran into this place while taking some windy roads on Bainbridge Island. We are so happy we stumbled onto it. What a creative nursery and people with really good advice not to mention some awesome species to select from.

Cool little feed/toy shop with a nook in the back for local groceries. I go here because they have very locally sourced veggies, eggs, meats, and various other foods. Not a huge selection but it's nice to support local growers.

This place is perfection. They have anything you could ever need (rain boots, local produce, propane refill, grass seed, plants, pots. Etc). I could spend hours looking around at everything.

this happened years ago but it has kept bay hay from being my go to nursery for plants.......................i ordered 3 plants at $35. each. they called and told me they came in. i went in and paid for them but didn't have room in my truck to pick them up so i said i'd be back. i didn't get back for about 2 weeks & by the time i went to pick them up they were no where to be found/ mysteriously there was not even a record of their being ordered. i kept checking back for a while & gave up. i did not get a receipt for them when i paid because i was going into that nursery several times a week and spending upwards of hundreds of dollars a week there and the sales guy said "no need, we see you all the time". they may have lost (or resold) my plants but they lost thousands more in sales (to me) over the years. i still go there in a pinch, if i'm in the neighborhood and/or if bainbridge gardens does not have what i am needing on any given day. they have a lot of good stuff, even if they are always on the higher side, but just sayin.......................

Best fresh local produce store (other than going to farmers market or farmers themselves) on Bainbridge Island with farm eggs (even in winter), salads, cheeses, meats, breads, wines, etc.. also great nursery, gifts, clothes, animal supplies, etc.. A BI institution that is keeping up with times and has nice neighbors like the coffee shop, Via Rossa for the best Italian food and wines on BI and a post office.
