The service here has greatly improved since the last time I visited, around 2 years ago. The last time I came here (before today) the service was atrocious, and I was treated so poorly I refused to patronize the store again for at least 28 months, but I’m glad I gave them another shot because tonight the lovely woman who helped me multiple times and then oversaw the self checkout area while I paid was phenomenal she was friendly, attentive, understanding and was knowledgeable about products and most importantly (at least for me) product placements, as well as where promotional placements were at temporarily, I feel like no other employees of any store know where all their sale items are placed throughout their stores. That girl deserves a raise and a a promotion. 10/10!! Oh yeah and she also wasn’t inclined to rush me out the door once the stores closing time was getting near (very very uncommon these days)

Definitely would not recommend working here, I was a good employee always going above and beyond for customers and workplace. I had the terrible flu on top of dealing with an autoimmune disease and called off my shift for 4 days and got a doctors note as required. When I returned to work to turn in my doctors note to find out I was taken off the schedule with no notice from anyone .

Overall the staff here have been helpful. However, based on a review by Colton a month ago, the customer service from the deli staff has NOT improved. I walked up to the deli and there was already a young man waiting. There were two staff talking to each other and the first of them walked away without a word to me. I tried to get the attention of the other but she walked away too. I am certain that she heard me because I called out to her several times and more loudly each time. She walked into the back with no acknowledgement of me. The first young lady finally came to help me. The woman who ignored my calls out to her finally came out of the back while LOOKING AT HER PHONE and helped a few other customers that had arrived. As far as I could tell, the young man who was there when I arrived had yet to be waited on. Date of visit: 1/31/24 at approximately 5:00 p.m.

In town for just the day to ride the ferry with my family. I decided to stop here and get breakfast burritos. Now I did order 6 which I know is a big order but the gentleman at the counter started to cuss and sigh over the size of order. As he starts them a lady came by to help him with the order. As she made out order she didn’t ask what we wanted on the burritos and started throwing random stuff on there. When I asked to make changes she snapped at and gave attitude because she already put stuff on them that I didn’t even ask for. I just kinda stayed quiet after that and watched her slam our burritos on the counter in anger. If you can’t handle customer service please find a new job.

Consistently ignored by staff. This has happened almost every time I have needed something from the deli. There will be a handful of employees working behind the counter and around the deli area. They will make eye contact with you and walk the opposite direction. I either have to wait them out, 10-15 minutes, to finally ask if I need any help or just leave. Today, 6 employees walked around me or looked at me and not a single one asked me if I needed help as I stood at the glass for 10 minutes.

Has everything you could ever need including Yucca root chunks. Clean and well stocked. Busy store. Open till 1am. Best meat department in town with excellent selection and extremely helpful butcher staff. Large Deli. and specialty food items.

We ordered sushi for my dads 89th birthday. It was Wonderful!!! They followed our wishes to the tee and the fish was so so fresh! The tray of sushi was so beautiful and colorful. My whole family loves sushi and agrees this was some of the best we have ever had. My dad said the poke’ bowl was an a++! Thanks so much for making this a special birthday.

I hope Safeway is looking to the future because always having long lines and the lack of items on the shelves is not working in there favor. I will continue going to elsewhere to buy my groceries.

The cashier looked like he stepped out of the Adam's family, wouldn't make eye contact and was very dismissive. Another day, different cashier and again not very friendly to me. This little town I moved to is not what I thought it would be considering all the people with money moving here. The staff here is a reflection of the type of people that are from here. The young and more helpful staff should be up front serving the public. It's time for some to retire. As far as foods, quality is the Safeway brands and what they carry. Safeway is a chain and like its other stores. The staff is what makes customers want to come back. There is a grocery store behind Safeway that is a little more expensive but the welcoming of the staff there will make me come back every time.

They have eggnog already!!! Any store that brings in new flavors of eggnog just has done something so right. My daughter in new Mexico has not yet seen eggnog either. Thank you, Safeway, for this delight!!

Safeway has all the grocery basics plus a Pharmacy and a small Starbucks coffee/goodies counter. We do need to go elsewhere to get a few things that Safeway doesn't carry, but we get at least 95% of our groceries here. We usually self scan and pay for items, and though the line often looks long, with five or six stations, the wait is quite reasonable. Staff are efficient and friendly and there is plenty of parking.

omg found a large hair, looked like it was deliberately put on the food from the deli the hot case asian food. very disgusting. nice to have the safeways in washington state but the staff are consistently seeming over worked and unhappy with bad customer service. this seems to be a staple for the safeway brand as a whole. but the hair on the food was pretty low. the hair on the food made us throw it out. didnt want to get a virus or contamination...

Dear Safeway store 593,Today at 9:45am my Wife ran into the store to pick up a few a couple of items, the coupon was not working at checkout, so an employee, her name was Patricia, told my wife "she was doing it wrong" and began scrolling through my Wifes phone with out her permission to "show her how to do it right".My Wife is a professional web developer and digital artist, she knows how to use an app. This was a minor glitch in a digital coupon, not a reason to berate and bully a person publicly.At this point we just wanted a refund for the coupon that didn't work, and to leave.This was followed by Patricia arguing with my Wife about the refund, and not allowing my Wife to fill out a feedback form.This was in front of other team members and customers.It was rude, unprofessional, degrading and humiliating, not to mention an invasion of privacy when Patricia used my wifes phone without her permission.My wife and her family have been in Anacortes for 40+ years and experiences in your store have been mediocre at best, but this was beyond reason.This letter will be forwarded to store director Jason Ostrand, and will be a open letter on social media and review sites.

A typical Safeway grocery. Easy access from both Commercial Street and Q Street. Parking area was busy for both the visits I made but it was still easy to find a parking space.My cashier, Brett was very helpful today in explaining a sale price. He is a very cheerful guy making for a positive experience.There are no Glacier filtered water stations at this Safeway location.

Mostly well stocked and well staffed, but many freezer items have been missing for several months due to supply chain issues, and the deli dept is always a wait for help. Curbside pickup works well, though they usually have to substitute or leave out items that I picked out on the app but they don't end up having in stock. Floral and balloon dept was very helpful today for birthday balloons.

That's where I go to do my main shopping 🛒 you can ask anybody that works there for something and are always willing to help you try and find it and if not they will get somebody who can now I am not saying it's going to happen all the time I am willing to say it will happen the majority of the time now there is one more important thing about Safeways they also have a great great pharmacy polite kind curious and they try to get you in and out as quickly as they possibly can

I was accused of stealing by one of the staff members when i was getting my prescription, i had not stolen anything. The staff member that came up to me was rude and treated me like I had done something wrong. I have anxiety and I was becoming anxious even though I was not in the wrong. I had scanned some of my other items except my prescription because it is free, my insurance covers it. When she discovered that I had not stolen anything she still acted rude to me. They probably targeted me because I am a teenager and they have a history of targeting teens for stealing.

Ample parking with accessible spaces in close proximity to the store.Social distancing markers throughout the store including directional flow for aisles.Most items were well stocked. Store overall seemed clean but untidy. Visited on a weekend day so this might be reason for the appearance.Prices were inline with expectation and use of app to receive coupons is an added bonus. Gas points also nice bonus.Cashiers bag items haphazardly making unpacking them a chore. (Putting similar items together is a courteous gesture that provides great customer service, especially when placed on belt in specific order.)Overall, good experience and would recommend as place to shop.

I live in Lopez Island, but many islanders and I call Safeway Anacortes as our local store. Every time, we make our trips out of our island, we always drop in pickup fresh produce, discount meats or Deli.We love their service, their representatives are friendly and willing to help.At 4th this month, I picked up two items on the rain check, thanks to John in meat department preparing for me, and chaser Bunny used her calculator make up the sale for me.They deserve my greatest appreciations.

Crazy parking lot! Too busy. Store was clean, but very crowded. Aisles are not wide and with floor merchandise stands are even narrower. Licensed store Starbucks kiosk (company owned Starbucks retail store 2 or 3 blocks up the street). Typical selection of any Safeway store. Seems understaffed with long lines at checkout, meat/seafood counter. Stock levels are good. Few product outages. Just your typical Safeway...
