Close to the dedicated Guermes ferry, with a panoramic view of Anacortes and its ship yards.Well shaped sandwich and burger menu, as well as soups and salads, with a beautiful outside garden. My "ancient grains" vegeburger came in a home baked bun with hand cut fries, the burger was crunchy and very tasty. I also chose a Chukanut Pilsner for the perfect end of summer lunch.Fun place to go, leave time for exploring this small island.

If you're ever in the mood for a unique experience combined with delicious baked goods, then Guemes island is the perfect destination for you. After driving around or checking out the beaches, check out the General store. This charming store offers a good selection of merchandise, including clothing, souvenirs, and more. During my visit, I was able to snag a locally made t-shirt that I know I'll wear for years to come. Not only does this store offer a good selection of merchandise, but they also have a bakery section that is a must-try. The pastries were mouth-watering and absolutely delicious. They were the perfect complement to my shopping experience and made the visit even more memorable.Lastly, I have to give a shout-out to the wonderful staff. The service was friendly and kind, making the shopping and eating experience all the more enjoyable.Overall, I highly recommend checking out the Guemes General Store. With its selection of local merchandise, delectable baked goods, and friendly staff, it's a destination that you don't want to miss when you’re in the area .

The Guemes Island General Store is a must-visit spot. It offers some of the best food I’ve had anywhere- a few highlights were their corned beef reuben, house made fries, and the fresh caught house smoked salmon. They offer a huge selection of craft drinks to go, a bar on site, and a great indoor/ outdoor seating area that features live music and plenty of space for kids to play out front. If you’re in the Seattle/ Anacortes/ Bellingham area, you need to check it out. It’s worth the swim, but the ferry is easier!

We visit Guemes Island once or twice a year and are enchanted by the island every time. A large part of that magic is attributable to the Guemes Island General Store, and the first time we visited, it was mid-Omicron, so we didn't get to see it in its full glory until this year. The general store is really an anchor for the island, with every necessity I could think of in the market portion of the store alongside a restaurant, small bar, and bakery. The baked goods are amazing and I regret not getting pictures. The restaurant offers a variety of meals that include some delicious hamburgers- I don't know what they do to their buns, but I've rarely had a better one. There are a hearty eight beers on tap, and quite a few more in the convenience section. The store includes a number of local specialties, from homemade jam to art and t-shirts from local artists (the Slow Loris tshirts are to die for).Plenty of parking and an easy walk from the ferry if you're walking on from Anacortes. I hear they host concerts in the summer- we haven't been at that time of year, but I can imagine how enticing it would be with the big lawn, open air seating on the front porch and all conveniently located to the ferry. I look forward to visiting every year and hope you stop by and grab one of those amazing danishes!

Guemes Island General Store is more bar and restaurant than store. I ate a fresh salad that was acceptable. I enjoyed live music on the outdoor dining deck while I ate. Charming to dine to live entertainment while looking out over the Guemes Channel. Salad plus great service and ambiance means I will probably return. Guemes Island is not highly accessible from an ADA standpoint. However, the GIGS is an accessible facility.

The food and service are always good here. Stopped by for a bowl of chowder today, and was just as good as I remembered from the last time I was there in 2013.

All four things we tried to order today (45 min after opening) were sold out (including lettuce and the breading for fish tacos, and fish… and veggie burgers) when i asked what they had that was vegan, they said “fries”. the fries were fine.Edit to add: recently the store has been much better than previously. They’ve had a bit more food in stock and the evening music & vibes have been a lot of fun. Updating from 2 to 3 stars

Great beer and food selection. Good covered outdoor seating. Good spot for random music in the summer with large outdoor area.Service can range from spectacular to surly but is generally speedy.Prices for groceries are high, but if you are on the island and need something that's on you not them.Worth a stop for locals and day trippers alike.

The pizza, giant chocolate chip cookie, and the beers on tap are definitely my favorite. The store is stocked with plenty of refreshments and snacks. The staff is friendly and they even have frisbee golf baskets. And you definitely can't beat the view while your waiting for the ferry back to the main land. Love it here.

Nice people & good food. Can't wait for the summer to be able to enjoy a cold beverage in their fenced garden area while enjoying the view of the channel.

We ordered the burger and fish and chips. Both were delicious! The burger was well seasoned and the fish was perfectly breaded with great seasoning. The fries reminded me of in n out. I know that is semi heresy but it at least reminded me of them. All that to say for a quick lunch while out with my dogs this was a great place to be. The back patio is huge and well worth sitting in while watching the ferry come and go.

Anderson general store, Guemes’s only store/restaurant. Featuring local brews, organic cuisine and local live music..sporting lots of island life flare.

This place has so much potential and not much happening. Food is good, especially the fish & chips and the beer list includes some wonderful rotating taps. Staff that I encountered (except for one man) was not friendly and almost to the point of being rude. Young girls at the register are horrible. I guess they don't care and don't feel that they need to be welcoming since they're the only option on the island.

Mediocre and expensive. Cashier seems depressed. Smaller selection than your local 7-11.

Limited seating right now. Good food, though. Live music tonight because Dan, Adam and Angie. Salmon was decent. Liked the lentil and garbanzo side Loaded fries were enjoyed. Brussels sprouts were nice. Cold on the deck.

It's the only option on the island, so it's definitely a place you'll visit. The grocery selection was small but surprisingly diverse. There were some interesting souvenir goods. The restaurant food was fine although the service a bit slow during a weekday lunch. Overall, it's probably more of a three star place, but the giant cookies are so delicious that they deserve an extra star just for that.

Definitely the place for island locals, the store/bar/restaurant combination is still very welcoming and friendly to mainland visitors. The interior is warm and inviting. A guitar and conga are clearly permanent residents and indicate that local music jams happen with some frequency. The food was pretty good. While the fish and chips were fine, the ancient grains vegetarian burger was incredible.I can't praise the staff highly enough. They were all friendly, professional, efficient and struck the perfect balance between checking in and leaving us be. Our water/cook went above and beyond, making us an off-menu item just for fun.The store is tiny, bit will have any forgotten necessities and a few fun finds as well. Definitely worth a visit.

The fish and chips are phenomenal. Get an extra tartar sauce because you are going to want to dip your perfect fries in it too. Key lime cake is perfect. 253838/10

Friendly and fairly well stocked store and deli. Good quality prepped food. Expect to wait a while since the store operates strictly from a walk up window, first come first served. No matter if you want a bottle of wine, picking up called ahead orders or waiting behind a family of 10 ordering ice cream and not knowing what they want. Just be patient. The staff is doing what they can given the circumstances. Also expect to pay Island prices.

Very nice selection of groceries for your island stay. Cold draft beer with great prices. Very welcome if you're waiting for the ferry as we were (on foot that day).

More a restaurant and bakery than a store, although there are some groceries available. No produce, which I was looking for, but found some nice apples on a stand by the road and called it good. The prepared food was amazing. The king salmon, cabbage patch salad, and green beans were all perfect and very inexpensive for the quality. The cookies are the size of your head and incredibly delicious. I ate three.

Took a day trip over to Guemes Island. Stopped at the General Store for a bite on the way back. Picked up a Rueben and fries. Large sandwich packed with meat. May have been on they're rye bread. Hand cut fries. Be patient everything is on island time, but well worth it.

Very nice rustic looking building with modern flair. Small selection of food and drinks with a small tax added on due to the remoteness. Nice Cafe inside adds to the feel but the food leaves a little to be desired.

Way to expensive. If you come to to island bring what you need with you. Gas was over $1.00 more per gallon than Anacortes. I hear they have good food though. Didn't try it. To expensive. $16.00 for a hamburger. Come on really!!!
