I had a GREAT experience with the 2 week board and train. Sabrina did a wonderful job training my ~1.5 year old German Shepherd, Chloe. Chloe was a rescue and exceedingly difficult for me. She’s extremely high energy, highly reactive, and completely lacked training. WOW has she been so much better since getter her back!! Don’t expect a total robot of a dog upon return. Chloe and I are definitely still growing and training together daily. However she went from a dog that I wasn’t sure I could keep, to an amazing pet. Our walks have be so much easier. She knows her commands. And I’ve been AMAZED by how well she walks off leash—something I never would’ve even considered with her prior to training. At first glance the price may seem like a lot, but when you consider the investment and the reward of a trained K9 companion, it’s an amazing deal! Worth noting that the administrative process was super easy and helpful, too. Chloe had some health complications that pushed back her training date, but the company really did a stellar job accommodating us. 10/10 would recommend. And thank you so much, Sabrina!

Off Leash K9 Training to the rescue. Our 7 month old golden retriever was very independent, hard headed, stubborn and somewhat of a bully during play time. I read and watched everything I could find on how to correct the unwanted behavior we were experiencing. I truly believe she thought I was her litter mate rather than her owner. She didn’t respond or listen even with initial puppy obedience training. Our experience with Amanda was wonderful. Yes, it was hard being away for 2 weeks but with nightly photos, videos and updates we felt connected with her progress. We are very pleased with our decision to trust the care and training of our girl to Off Leash. We now have a happy, responsive girl who looks forward to her training exercise and the bad behavior, although not completely gone, has pretty much ceased. I’m thankful to know I have a resource and someone I can turn to in the future whenever needed. Thank you Amanda for your loving care and training of our sweet girl.

We were very skeptical about leaving our 6 mo Wheaten, Abby, with a stranger for 2 weeks. The company went above and beyond to answer questions and even visited us in our home to meet Abby and answer more questions. The big day came to leave Abby and when I met her trainer, Sabrina, I knew it was going to be successful. We received daily videos and report cards and to see the documented difference between day 1 and Day 14 is beyond amazing. When Abby has a problem containing all of her energy we can now say ABBY SIT. PLACE. and she calms down almost immediately. We are still continuing to work daily to reinforce the training and help her manage all that puppy hyperactivity. She’s doing great! We highly recommend Off Leash on Rt 17 in Newport News. We can’t say enough about Sabrina and her expertise and love for dogs.

If I could give 10 stars I would for our experience and trainer Amber Rash. Our 2.5 yr old Rottweiler Gemini just finished the 2 wk Board and Train with Amber. We are extremely happy with her skilled training. She kept us informed daily of his progress with video and pictures. This made this process less stressful for us parents. Gemini has become a well behaved and much happier dog and is eager to please where as before he was a typical teenager and a bit stubborn. He has become socialized around people and other animals as well as distractions and is much more focused. We are happy that we chose OFF LEASH K9 training here in Hampton Rds. We now have confidence to walk him in public places. Amber cared for and treated Gemini as if he was her very own. It showed how much she loves what she does and she is outstanding as a professional K9 trainer. If I can talk my husband into getting another dog we will surely request Amber for training. I knew my pup was going to be big and had the potential to be “naughty”. Off leash did a great job with her when I didn’t have the time to get the job done correctly. She is now a confident and “mostly” well behaved pup (she is only 6 months old 😂) and it is all thanks to off leash. Morgan did a great job teaching her the basics! She heels wonderfully and does great in new surroundings!! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for dog training!

We just got our lab back from off the leash and what a difference in manners he has. Sabrina was a fantastic trainer and would recommend her to anyone. Along with the great training for Ozzie our lab she also coached us through the process of continued training for Ozzie. The photos, reports and videos on a daily basis were also a great addition. We will take any other dogs we may get in the future. 10 stars for great communication and taking our Ozzie and training him. Job Well Done!!

I will admit I was hesitant about spending this much money but money well spent! Moose came home a new boy and actually listens! It’s been great having friends over and him not jumping all over them! We go on walks which are extremely easy now! Nice I finally walk him and he doesn’t walk me. It’s been just over a week and we truly enjoy spending every moment we can. Big thank you to Lindsey!!! She is great at what she does and extremely passionate about what she does! I was never concerned for Moose’s safety for the 2 weeks he was gone! Great job team and thank you to all that supported Moose and his training!!!

Since I chose the 8 sessions instead of the board and train for my 3yo Aussie mix Mozzie, I had to step up and be dedicated to working with him every day on my own to make this work. Lindsey was a great helping me on each skill and she definitely guided my focus on what I personally needed in daily life for both of my dogs which was the best!!(My older Aussie, Ro, did board and train 4yrs ago with a different trainer.)The reason I gave a 4 ⭐️ instead of 5:In the beginning it was a rough start because I paid in full upfront and did not hear from anyone for almost 3wks thinking I got scammed to find out that trainer originally assigned was not going to assist and didn’t bother to communicate. After having to call for a refund a manager reached out, apologized, and we were able get Lindsey and it was probably all for the best because she was the best person to relate with.In the end I was content and appreciated the help of Lindsey each session for Mozzie and a reactivity update for Ro. She was personable and helped guide me with them both, which is a tough task with 2 energetic dogs, and on our last session we had a little fun at the park with a little race for both on the BREAK signal.

I only have good things to say about my experience at off leash K9. I have 2 5 month old Great Dane puppies and we did a hybrid board and train. So we had 4 in person sessions and then a 2 week board and train. My goal was to have a good family dog that was good off leash and out in public. So if you’re looking to have a robot for a dog then this training is not for you. I love that my pups can still be pups while also still having obedience when the situation calls for it. And for everyone worried about the e-collar I knew about it before I even signed the contract. And my trainers, Amber and Alex, explained the process to me at our initial phone call as I was a little on the fence. Once they came home Neither pup seemed traumatized when I put it on them which tells me that during the board and train this tool was not abused. My dogs still play and act like typical puppies while wearing them. I am able to walk them off leash with distractions with no issues. My trainers checked in after the board and train to make sure the pups were good and I was still comfortable.

I absolutely loved our trainer Craig Penny. He was wonderful for both my pups and I look forward to having him train my other pups. He was patient with explaining how to continue training from home. Both my pups came home and needed very little coaxing to continue their training. They obey all the commands and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. I looked forward to my nightly photos and videos and updates on how my pup was doing. I would 10/10 recommend them for anyone

All the negative things you could possibly hear about Off Leash, at least from our experience, are simply not true!!! I rescued a very abused Belgian/Dutch/German mix who was on the euthanasia list. Admittedly, she had sent my wife to the ER with stitches due to reactivation to abusive environments (kids). We sent her to Kat at Off Leash and it has made a world of difference!!! I had heard people say the dogs come back as different dogs and not in a good way but I am here to say that Lucy is still the spicy little spitfire she was when I got her but so much more obedient, refined, and focused! Kat truly Conducted a miracle!!!! I would never give up on my Lucy, but Kat made that so much easier. She gave Lucy the confidence, the knowledge, and ability...and taught us the same! Don't believe all the nay sayers!!! Kat was incredibly helpful and is now a great resource and friend!!!

We just completed 8 private sessions with Craig from Off Leash K9 Training and couldn’t be more pleased. We have a very rambunctious energetic smart 21 month old Golden Retriever who would jump up on visitors, wouldn’t come when called, and had a (puppy) mind of his own. I was slightly hesitant at first in regards to the e-collar training, but Craig was very kind and explained things very patiently on how it works & that it wouldn’t hurt our dog. Amazingly, after our first session, I could see significant positive results. We had “homework” after each session that were clearly stated, as well as, time for questions and review of that session. Craig’s teaching style was led by example, followed by active learning, then feedback, and he made it challenging, yet fun. Craig is personable, yet professional. His vast military experiences with canine training have led him to be extremely knowledgeable and understanding. Our sessions were sometimes done inside our home, outside on our property, and progressed to going to Colonial Williamsburg where there are more people, other dogs, distractions, and opportunities for higher challenges. I now feel comfortable, safe, and proud to take our dog anywhere in public and he’s now very well behaved at home. We continue with our training now that we’ve graduated and it’s still fun. It’s heartwarming knowing there is a mutual loving understanding between my dog and I at a much deeper level than before training. I highly recommend, without hesitation, Craig and the teaching philosophies with Off Leash K9 Training.

We got a 6 month old puppy that was rehomed. He obviously had formal training. We reached out to Off Leash K9 Training as he was trained by them. They responded quickly met up with us showed us how to continue to reinforce training. They are working with us to train us! They didn’t have any obligation to us, they did it for the dog. They care about the dogs. Amazing to see. I would absolutely recommend them. We got an awesome dog!

I have to give a massive shout-out to Kat at the Yorktown facility - she trained our crazy hyena so well, and the Luna we brought home with us is a completely well-behaved dog. Kat trained Luna 6 months ago, and her training has still stuck despite getting spoiled (read: entire weeks of 0 training sessions) by grandparents every few months. She is stubborn (to be expected with a half Husky!), but she is still as obedient, calm, and gentle as the day she left Kat's care.Kat spent 2.5 hours training a variety of characters in our family, and we could tell that she and Luna had formed such a loving bond together by the amazing photos Kat sent every night. I told Kat she should be a professional pet portrait photographer when she retires from dog training! Yes, we loved working with Kat, but Luna _really_ loved working with Kat!!! Thank you so much, Kat!

We board and trained our Plott hound, Guinness, with Off Leash K9 training in Yorktown and Lauren Viets was his trainer. This was approximately one year ago, and I would recommend her to anyone! Guinness was so much better mannered, and socialized. We just got him a sister, Genesee, also a Plott hound and we will be bringing her in when she is old enough. I signed up a few months in advance before my puppy was able to attend. The company itself stayed in contact through the whole process. That was reassuring. Once it got closer my pups training the trainer Ivey reached out and made the whole process smooth! Ivey was super easy to chat with and was super flexible. I was anxious to pass off my puppy for two weeks but desperately knew some training was needed! Ivey answered any questions I had at hand off. Ivey had fantastic detailed report cards every night that showed just how much time she was putting into my puppy. At pick up Ivey made sure to take as long as we needed until I was confident with the commands, answered every single question I had, and made sure I understood everything that happened in those two weeks. Ivey turned my jumping, no manner, nipping dog into a completely different dog! She listens, doesn’t jump, and has the best door manners at almost 6 months old. I’m beyond thankful for Ivey and all the love and passion that she poured into my dog! I CANNOT thank her enough!!

My experience with K9 off leash was extremely positive. I own a black lab golden mix named Bagheera and he was just over one year of age when he entered a two week class at K9 off leash with Ashley Dail as the trainer. I can honestly say when I got him back he was like a totally different dog. It was a huge positive transformation. He is now extremely well-behaved and obedient, but still maintains his playful personality. I would highly recommend K9off leash and Ashley!

I first want to say that I couldn't be more grateful to off leash K9 training for their board and train with our girl Nova.Me and my fiancé have had her since she was a puppy and have always struggled with training her. We put her in classes and she had problems staying focused in there so we decided to try and train her ourselves and got no where. We were always nervous about taking her out to walk in the neighborhood because she was always on high alert for other dogs and people so we didn't get her out and adjusted as much as so deserved.We basically got to a point where taking her outside was dreadful. We were on high alert for other people and dogs and we'd start training her but the moment she saw another dog passing or person walking we'd become invisible so we'd pull her back inside and try again the next day with the same results.I felt like we failed her as her owners we knew 100% it's was our fault. She is the absolute sweetest dog and I wanted nothing more than to show everyone else how smart and sweet she was and to be able to take her out to the beach or into the pet store, or even just the neighborhood and give her the time she deserves around nature and other people.Larry was our trainer and he did an absolute amazing job when he had her for the 2 week board and train. He kept us updated every single day on what they did, where they went and how her training was going and provided pictures and videos every day. He took her out to places we would have never had the confidence or control to take her to until now. As sad as I was sending her off for 2 weeks, his updates and videos were such a treat to see I couldn't help but laugh and smile seeing her do so well. When it was finally time to bring her home we met with Larry and he went over everything that we needed to know and answered every question we had and also showed us how to handle her.Since we've had her back home taking her outside has been amazing and something I'm happy and excited to do again and I'm so excited for the new future that we have.If you're looking at boarding and haven't come to a decision yet think about the future you have with your dog currently then think about the future you COULD have with your dog after training. 10/10 would recommend!!

I can't say enough about the trainers at Off Leash K9. We just finished our 2 weeks Board and Train and I am so impressed! Our trainer was Jacob, couldn't have asked for a better trainer. We received report cards every night about the accomplishments Atlas had completed each day. We also had videos and photos of how he did each day. I thought it was pricey and that is the only reason I waited to enroll Atlas in the program. He pulled so hard on his leash before the program we couldn't walk him, we couldn't go in public with him because he was always over excited. We got back a different dog!! Same silly attitude, but he listens! We are so proud to start working with him in busy areas because we have the tools to help him succeed. I am thankful we made the jump, it is MORE than worth it!

We are so thankful for Kat at the Yorktown, VA location. Our 3 year old golden retriever, Bodie, spent 2 weeks with Kat doing a board and train. Although he knew the basic commands going in, Bodie struggled with his recall and random outbursts of resource guarding towards other dogs. Our walks consisted of a dog who would pull ahead and direct where he wanted to go. When we first spoke with Kat explaining our situation and our “wish list”, she immediately put us at ease. She answered all of our initial questions and concerns and ultimately gave us hope. During the 2 weeks, Kat was very detailed with the daily pictures/videos and report card going over what they accomplished. Every day built on the last and it was amazing to see the progress over the 2 weeks.At the completion of the 2 weeks, Kat was able to fix all of our concerns and struggles with Bodie. His recall is better than ever, and with the tools she has given us we feel more confident in being able to manage our pup. Our walks are more enjoyable and we love the newfound off leash freedom we have! Overall, we could not be more excited to have received Kat’s help with training our pup. Kat is very professional, responsive, and detailed in her training. She is extremely compassionate and committed to both dog and owner when it comes to training and beyond. Thank you, Kat!!

Craig did such an amazing job with our pup! We were so sure he was in great hands and loved, but most importantly our stubborn Husky did sooo well! We could have not been happier about the results. And we are so grateful for off leash. It feel great to have control over our dog in all situations and keep him safe. Also did we mention he’s a husky! Yeah he is an obedient husky.

Absolutely loved my interactions with my Trainer Lauren and how well she did with my dog! He is big, a jumper, and can be very stubborn. She made training him look like a breeze while returning him to us as a well trained dog. We received daily pictures and updates on how our dog was doing with his training. Of course, only so much happens in 2 weeks, but she trained us, the dog parents, so well that we were easily able to continue his training and practice with commands. I love what this company stands for and will definitely use them again if we get another dog! I would recommend this team to anyone!

Amazing experience! Even with a rough start where Beckley got really homesick, Off Leash's administrators found a way to get us a comprehensive and really effective training program.Special thanks to Lindsey for taking care of our homesick pup and giving her a good base of commands. Extra Kudos to Craig Penny for building on that base, and getting Beckley and us Pawrents trained for success. We highly recommend Off Leash - Yorktown for training and especially Craig Penny, whose professionalism and genuine caring for Beckley was evident throughout the training process.

We had the absolute BEST experience with Hope from Off Leash K9!! Our dog, Sampson, spent two weeks with her and she absolutely exceeded our expectations with this program! Hope maintained excellent communication with us throughout the program. She also made the drop off and pickup process seamless. The daily report cards with notes, photos, and videos were the highlight of our day! We were genuinely amazed at all the skills Hope was able to teach Sampson over the two week span and we could tell at pickup that Sampson absolutely loved working with her too. I highly recommend Off Leash K9 and specifically Hope to anyone thinking of getting training for their dog!

I had a great experience with Off Leash K9. I chose to do the 2 week boarding that comes with a lifetime guarantee and I’m very glad I did. I was hesitant to leave my dog for two whole weeks with a stranger but my trainer Lauren made me feel so comfortable. She was super transparent with how the two weeks would go start to finish. Turns out the only one with separation anxiety was me, the only thing stopping from asking to pick my Charlie girl up early was the daily report cards full of pictures and videos showing how much fun she was having and how she was thriving at learning commands given by Lauren. Everyday there would be a new journal entry of an adventure they went on or what they learned for the day that put my mind at ease. The best day of all was of course turn over day when I got the chance to see just how smart my girl is and learn a little myself. I am fully confident in taking her anywhere dogs are allowed and so many vacations in the future thanks to off leash K9. The two week board & train was the hardest and longest two weeks (for the humans), but SO SO SO worth it! Our GSP puppy, Pepper, is such a better listener and even has seemed to calm down a bit after her training with Dani. The nightly report cards were the highlights of our days and kept us so informed of how Pepper was doing with training, how she was eating, her general well being, and had tons of amazing photos and videos. We knew we couldn't have done this type of training alone and we were reaching a breaking point with her behavior of pulling on the leash, counter surfing, jumping on people, etc. Dani and Off Leash K9 have made such a difference and we can't wait to see how Pepper continues to grow and learn with this new training method!THANK YOU!

Can't say enough about our experience with off leash k9. Our trainer Brent took our rascally Golden Retriever and worked wonders with him. Not only did he do amazing work with him but he taught us in such a way that the transition at home has been seamless. Would recommend Brent and off leash to anyone!

We enrolled our girl Pepper in the Off Leash K9 hybrid board and train program. I will say it was a little tough getting through and getting scheduled but once we did, everything was great! With the hybrid course we got to meet and work with our trainer, Dwayne, for several sessions prior to actually boarding Pepper. Our pup is not a fan of strangers, so I was nervous about how she would respond to a trainer but luckily Dwayne showed up and wasn't nervous at all. He came with the best energy that put everyone at ease, including Pepper. He really exceeded all my expectations from that moment on. He made our meetings extremely convenient to us. We received detailed, daily reports with pictures and videos of her progress. It's evident through his work that he truly enjoys what he does. He took great care of our pup while teaching her how to be more confident and comfortable in her surroundings. 10/10 recommend!

Trainer did a good job of reinforcing several commands to our Bernese/Retriever. Along with some new ones. I could tell she made a strong bond with my doggo. Most notable changes were; she’s much better during walks, & better ”general” manners. ;However, my wife & I also noticed she developed some undesirable behaviors, such as (strong) barking, & surprisingly.. a big one was aggression during a correction. Last night- (growing/showing teeth while getting a sock stole from her mouth) This was a first. I do realize she’s a puppy(<6months). So to summarize, I feel this training is better suited for more mature dogs. I wish we waited to pay for training once she is older, to retain more information. &/Or was informed more about this potential pitfall beforehand. She just reached 4 months upon initial handoff. I suggest to use discretion regarding age, and have realistic expectations. We will obviously continue to work with her, and I know we have a stronger foundation to build on thanks to this training. Though, she responds better to positive reinforcement. Again,(Trainer was very nice & helpful), my main disappointment is from the lack of information/consultation regarding her age & ability to fully retain information. Again, trainer was great! I just feel the timing was off. I honestly think our trainer would’ve recommended waiting, if we had contacted her directly.(aka Privately) With that said; Thank you, (to Sabrina) for your hard work & doing the best with the small time frame & our massive puppy.
