Alright, I did change from 2 to 3 ⭐ 's, as I've definitely seen worse. Overall, I went for supplements in between grocery store shopping (like Dollar General), hoping to save at least a little $. Sadly, there were items that were equal or up to convenience store prices (not too, too many, but enough to make me ask myself "What is the purpose here?").Staff was nice. Store was clean. There is a decent selection of groceries & wares, but not enough to make me repeat a trip.The prices were moderate, as mentioned, and I do fully understand that the rising costs do fall downhill. I'd recommend going if you find an immediate need, or passing by. That said, if I weren't passing, or lived close enough to validate fuel costs, I most definitely would not tell a friend to make a special trip.In closing, clean, friendly, decent selection for basic needs. Beyond that, don't make a special trip.

Haven't been there in a number of years. Store rearranged, and as I recall, clean, neat, and friendly staff. I don't drive and wait for someone to take me shopping.

A very good Family Dollar with a decent selection. The employees are usually very nice, but the other day a woman rung me up very quickly despite there not being anyone else in the store and was a bit rude. She was also not wearing a mask. Other than that one experience, this Family Dollar is very friendly.

I saw a comment from another review about Ralph. I am a small business owner and have had my fair share of managing young kids in school working part time. I would offer Ralph a job in a second. He is always polite and kind. I go here once or twice a week and not once have I ever had any interaction with Ralph that has left me with anything but a smile. He can call me buddy any day.Sarah

Totally remodeled the store! Much better lay out and seems to be a better shopping experience. They are trying to stock Christmas so it's a bit cluttered, but employees very willing to assist you.

This is my local store and I go there regularly. Jessica always makes sure that I get what I need and if it's not there she makes sure to tell me when it's coming. Very nice to walk in and people know your name. Love my store!!

I recently spent weeks in hospital after surgery and complications from it. The only store I can go to is Family Dollar in Wirtz VA. This lady has made it possible for me to get all I need and want. I go weekly or biweekly. She has a great personality and human decency that is a rare find these days as you know. Never have I felt like a burden or left without all on my list. So I thank her and you guys for her being there. Her name is Jessica

I sometimes pass thru Wirtz and stopped at this Family Dollar to get a few items. I stopped Nov. 1, 2017 about 7 PM. The 2 female employees working were rude and a little weird. I asked them a question and they just said *Oh... i don't know* Then they started talking to each other about someone they called *funky dude*. Or something like that. Very unprofessional, and they were ignoring me to have a chat. I told them *Well, have a good night* as I was walking out and they just looked at me like I was stupid and continued their conversation.Next time passing thru ill wait until I get to Roanoke to get my items. Management needs to crack down on them and get the employees in gear. Maybe ill stop by again in a few months... see if they have improved... First impression will be hard to shake..

The employee who said his name is "Ralph" is disrespectful. He kept calling me "buddy" in front of my wife. Ralph looks like a young kid. Kids like him need to respect older people who have much more experience than they do. My wife said she was offended hearing him constantly call me "buddy". Other than the issue with the disrespectful employee, this Family Dollar store in Wirtz has a good layout and everything was easy to find.

Decent selection of goods. Prices are subject, but hey, most the time it's the only store within miles so. Pay for convenience my friends. Staff is super friendly and helpful

The store had aisles blocked w carts full of stock in multiplie locations. Not ADA at all. Cashier checked me out while holding a toddler. While 2 other individuals were standing behind wrapstand talking to cashier while she was ringing me up. This store has really gone down hill.

The store has been completely moved around and remodeled even where the registers. Everything looks good and I was able to find things I needed.
