I fondly remember visiting The Peanut Shop when I was a kid and we visited Williamsburg so it's been a while. I do remember that the peanuts were delicious so had to go in and get some. This store is packed full of peanuts and other nuts that are also flavored in addition to roasted and unsalted or lightly salted. They also have novelty candies, spices, sp mixes, etc. The only somewhat off putting thing is that the prices are fairly high, but if you go with the sales then the pain is slightly less. Don't miss the peanut brittle though...

My mother-in-law asked if we could stop in there after our day in Colonial Williamsburg. I had never been into the shop before. And I wish I never went in, lol. I ended up buying several cans of peanuts and pecans because they were so tasty. It was nice to have the samples because that's what did it for me. Definitely will be back. They also offer senior discount and military discount.

The product was okay albeit expensive but the customer service inside was horrendous. The variety option is nice. I know I'm in colonial Williamsburg but the level of racism exhibited by the African American employee here was atrocious. She took great care of the white guest that came in but completely ignored us. When we asked any questions about the products she gave combative responses. Will never return again or buy from this establishment if we're not welcomed here.

We've been visiting this shop since '75 and always love coming back. They know how to do nuts right and have adjusted to the tastes of their clients over time, by having low-sodium or creatively flavored nuts like Sea Salt Caramel, PB&J or Wasabi (yes it's spicy!) And they will ship anywhere.

One of the other reviews said the name is misleading and it is. They do have a lot more than peanuts. We ended up getting a couple different varieties of nuts and a honey mustard. It has all been very good. I am glad you can order on line because we will be ordering some stuff for our Christmas party this year. You want to make sure you stop here, they have something everyone will like.

Very disappointed!! Bought a large can ofsalt & pepper peanuts but they had no salt and no seasoning at all and were completely bland and tasteless. YUCK!! I have had these expensive peanuts before and they were delicious. Sent a "contact us" email and called customer service but no response. Will not buy anything from "The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg" again!!

This has always been a favorite for nuts. Recently bought (mail order) cans chocolate covered peanuts. Opened at a xmas party. Can was not full and nuts discolored on top (looked like melted dried chocolate). Opened second can which was going to be a gift and same thing. Fortunately, I found this one prior to giving as a gift. Ordered can of regular peanuts and they were darker in color, smaller in size, over salted as compared to their usual exceptional nuts. Something is bad wrong here.

A great variety of nut types are available, many with flavoring or chocolate coverings. They also had jelly, dough mixes, and seasonings.

The quality from a year before has been severely diminished. These used to be full peanuts and large in size as Virginia peanuts but recently they have been halves and just like any regular peanuts you get at gas stations. Sorry to say, It’s not worth the price they once were. I’m one of their loyal customers but very disappointed with latest experience.

We always get the Dill Pickle Peanuts when we visit! They're delicious! We also grabbed some salsas and other small things.. they always have a yummy selection! The staff is also always very friendly!

The hand picked nuts were very good, lots of whole nuts, no halves. I really like the spicy nuts, maybe more than the hand picked. We haven't tried the rest of our selection yet, but I'll update that later.

Variety of flavors and types of good sold here, not only peanuts. They have the best malt balls and peanuts by far. We got the crab salsa this time but we will get the garlic ginger sauce and horseradish spread when we visit next. We even got our dog a bone that he loves for 3.99!

Just returned from a nice visit to Williamsburg. While wandering around the Market Square area we found this nice place. It’s actually not correctly named as they sell a LOT more than just peanuts. Their selection is quite broad and includes all kinds of nuts prepared in many, many ways, syrups, honeys and jellies, doughs, and a gaggle of other food-related things.My wife bought a few items as gifts for friends and family. Prices are a bit high but you have to expect that from a small shop in a very touristy area. Highly recommended for yourself or for gifts for others as you roam around the old town area.

Some of the most delicious chocolate-covered Kosher nuts this side of the Atlantic! They’ve also got a great selection of salted nuts, plain nuts, caramel-covered nuts, and even wasabi-covered nuts. In non-COVID times they offer free samples, and the place serves as an attraction of its own, but for now they are responsibly only offering “take out”. The location is in a beautiful section of Historic Williamsburg, and it’s well-worth exploring the surrounding areas. Overall, this place is nuts! ;)

Container was rusty when I opened it. Horrible quality control and they said they would replace but never did. I wouldn't be so disappointed but the wrapped it in plastic wrap so I couldn't see the rust in the store.

I appreciated the safety precautions that this store enforces. They lock the door when they are at capacity, have hand sanitizers available, and have one entrance and one exit to encourage one way traffic. I felt like this was the safest store in Merchant's Square!Now about the peanuts! We got the Santa Snack Mix and Dark Chocolate covered peanuts. We mixed them together and they're perfect!! They make great gifts too!

These are my favorite peanuts. They snap when you bite into them. There’s other nuts in the store too and a variety of flavors. I got regular peanuts. Chocolate peanut butter covered peanuts and Georgia pecans.

If you are BLACK don't shop here! I went on Saturday. A white gentleman was in front, held the door for me. I entered and the rest of his family entered as well. They purchased the same peanuts I did. They were asked if they were military, a fireman, etc. Another white man was asked the same question. The black lady myself came to the counter nothing was asked. I pulled out my military ID and was told my items were on sale. The question remains if the white man had sale items, and you can't use your military ID why did you ASK? Hmmm. I have never felt racism as I did on Saturday in Williamsburg.

There is a lot of great selection and some specials if you're willing to buy more that you went in to buy. There are some really great flavor selections, however, not all flavors are available in all container sizes. The staff was super friendly and I picked up some flavors that really sound delicious, however, I have not tried them yet. I'll update this review of I discover something different about my experience. It is a very nice store. If you love peanuts I highly recommend checking them out.

Cute gift shop. They close at 5, which is strange but I guess it's a Williamsburg thing. Nice assortment of treats, small decor, and of course peanuts. The variety of peanuts is impressive, I believe they will allow you to sample one or two if you can't make up your mind. Nice people and a good stop if you want something unique from Williamsburg.
