Great place with knowledgeable staff. I went to a big box store earlier in the day for a plumbing need and it took me 15 minutes to track down a staff member who couldn't answer a basic question I had about a faucet stem. I later realized I needed to replace my shutoff valve as well and ran down to Ace. The gentleman that assisted me was very kind, attentive, and talked me through the process and what I needed to get the job done. The staff are all professional and genuinely nice people here. Great place to do business.

This is a very well run and efficient hardware store. They seem to have just about everything a person could need for home repair and woodworking projects. The only thing I wish they had were full sheets of plywood and full 2x4s. For the plywood, I have to travel out to home Depot which is another 20 minutes away. The location convenience mixed with the selection in the store have been a lifesaver.

I do not post reviews often. When I do, it is because my experience was either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. I am delighted to say that my experience today (and always) was exceptionally good. (Not just at this store but at either store.)I was in a bit of a jam. I had to get all the locks changed in my house and could not have all the locks off for a long period of time. I took all the tumblers and related hardware off and brought it all to the store, along with all the keys I had.I'll skip the details but (not sure of the name, Blue?) dropped what he was doing and said that he would do it right away. It would take about an hour and he would call. True enough. He either rekeyed or rebuilt all the deadbolts and door handle locks, cleaned them all, and made me the extra keys I asked for.One of the handle locks was in rough shape and was pretty much beyond repair. He actually apologized for not being able to fix it! I gladly bought a new replacement to which he applied a coupon and didn't charge me to set the lock to the same keys.This store did everything they could to do their best for me and actually save me money. I have been a loyal customer since moving here six years ago and will continue to be so.To top it off, I take my Sheltie (Major) everywhere I do and everyone is to nice and friendly, not just to the dog but to me to!Thanks again Ace. You are the best. I am glad to bring you my business!

John was the jolliest and most helpful ACE associate I’ve ever met! He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He even came out to my RV in the parking lot to help figure out what I needed to solve an issue. The other workers were also very friendly! Thanks for the great service John!

Stopped by Friday morning for some topsoil. Got there about 7:15, knowing they don't open until 7:30. Loaded 4 bags in a cart and left it there (out of way) while I ran across the lot for a coffee. Came back, 7:25, The manager came out, swore a blue steak about me having the cart in his way (it wasn't). I apologized, he continued to swear at me, refused to let me in the store. Great place.

The folk at this Ace store are always ready to provide assistance in locating and explaining how to use items in the store. It's a pleasure to be able to actually find a knowledgeable and helpful person who can direct you to what you're seeking or tell you right away if it's not available. Although Ace is not a large store, nine times out of ten you can find what you're looking for.

This Ace Hardware and the one on Monticello routinely overcharge. The price on the shelf and the price that rings up frequently do not match and (shocking!) the price that rings up is always higher. It's an okay store and I go frequently because of the convenience. But why can't they fix the price discrepancy problem??? In addition, today when an item rang too high, the employee was rude and unapologetic when I pointed out the problem.

You know what would be great? Not being treated like a child every time I go to this ace hardware just because I’m a younger woman. It seems every time I set foot in this store I’m swarmed by 60 year old men who feel the need to waste my time mansplaining things to me. Like dude, I’m here to buy insect killer; stop hovering over me and just let me shop.

Bob, an extremely nice and professional gentleman, impressed me with not only the fact that he was able to make me a perfectly working copy of my car key ( since the only one I had to give him to work with was a copy!!) but was delighted to hear how well it worked. We love going to this hardware store. It is smaller so it doesn't have everything you need, but it has most things. The employees here are extremely helpful and are willing to help you find anything in the store. They are very knowledgeable about their products and will even suggest other stores to go to for items that they do not carry. Great store!

I only buy my DIY hardware from Ace or Home Depot. Rarely do I walk away without everything I need. If they don't have it in the store, use their on-line site. Very responsive. Good, neighborhood advise, too.

Aside from lumber, this place has a surprisingly large selection of hardware, as well as tools/tool accessories, and at competitive prices. One of the things that makes them stand out the most to me, when compared to Lowe's or Home Depot, is their selection of nuts/bolts/screws/etc and specialty parts that always seem impossible to find when you need.

ACE IS MY PLACE!!!!!! This Particular ACE Hardware is a very small store but its a Rare Day that I cant find what I need or at least something that will suffice without totally Jury Rigging or Reinventing the Wheel. Best Staff in Williamsburg Hands Down! Everyone who works there, #1 has been there awhile and comes to WORK to WORK.....
