Beautiful backdrop and plenty of land at this winery. The vibe here is very "chill". The owner engages with customers and the manager at the winery is super friendly, too. My absolute favorite wine here is the "George Meritage Reserve" which is a Bordeaux style red. This wine is absolutely outstanding! The winery often has entertainment, and we were lucky to listen to a local artist, Kiaya who is also outstanding. Highly recommend the location, the people and the wine!

I can't speak on the rooms of the place as we didnt stay here but have been here twice for wine classes. First one we did was the Italian wine one which was awesome. There was a chatty table of older adults who wouldn't stop talking which was quite obnoxious but the class itself was great. Tried 10 different wines all which had explanations for each. We just went back yesterday for the boot camp and I personally thought that class was better. Very informative about how wines are made, pairings of both food and chocolates. The owner taught the classes and he is honestly the main reason they are as enjoyable as they are. We will be coming back for more classes for sure. Do yourself a favor and also take one!

What a charming venue for a wedding! We had the pleasure to photograph a marriage celebration at Little Washington Winery and would enthusiastically recommend it to any couple who wants a wedding with gorgeous scenery, an intimate feel and lots of great wine! Because it's set on a hill, the winery offers an absolutely spectacular view. The hill itself creates something of a bowl as it runs down from the main building, which allows you to do a wedding ceremony with amphitheater-style seating. The staff are super-friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines, which not surprisingly, are great for a post-wedding celebration!

We were very disappointed in our visit to the Little Washington winery. The person behind the bar was either having a really bad day or was so really unhappy about something. She wasn't friendly or helpful at all. Maybe they were really shorthanded because of the July 4th weekend? Whatever the reason it was a very unfortunate experience. We ordered 2 flights of wine. We tried them and left wishing we had not make the 30 mile drive to this winery.

Wow. What a nice experience. The wine and the tasting experience at this winery is excellent. Carl did a great job of helping us understand what we we were drinking. Beautiful home that hosts the tastings. Don’t miss this one.

A couple of friends and I stopped here for as a treat post an 8-mile hike. It was exactly what we needed and the scenery was breathtaking. Aside from the beautiful views, the wine was equally tasty. I had the "Dirt Road Wine Club" flight -- can't remember the exact types of the flight, but were all very enjoyable. The location is great for picnics with plenty of space to social distance.

Me and my mate had a nice time. The view is great!! Donna was wonderful as well as her staff. I love the road up to the site. The owners have a winery, brewery, and chocolate shop. There is disc golf on the property as well.

Beautiful winery in a former inn. No crowds around noon on a Sunday. I don't have enough of a palate to give a review on the wines but the view from a comfortable seat on the porch was worth the $15 tasting price. I've bookmarked it to return and if they ever reopen for overnight guests we'll be back for that as well.

This is more of a tasting room than a winery. They brew their own beer as well. The views from the main house are spectacular! The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed. I believe there is also disc golf on the property!

A great stop if you are out in this area! We were driving from Washington, DC. It is right outside SNP so easy to stop by after a hike. We spent a good part of our afternoon here - first enjoyed a flight of beer from the brewery (coffee stout was my favorite) and then played some disc golf while enjoying the views. My husband and I also attended the wine boot camp course which was very enjoyable. We learned a lot about wine that we did not know before. Would love to go back for another class in the future.

Ya know, it kinda kills me to drop this lone star review. Especially because the first part of our visit was nice. In fact, the whole reason we have continued to drive an hour away to support this business with visits before COVID, wine purchases during COVID, and ultimately came back with guests for another class today was because of the warm ambience and nice owners. Unfortunately, the one star is deserved. The class was fun, but kept getting interrupted by the ruckus in the wine room and people wandering in repeatedly. No big deal, and I was actually happy to see it was busy because we enjoyed the place and love supporting local businesses. Besides that, the lady giving the class handled the strays very gracefully and with good humor. All was well until the class ended... it was abrupt, it was early, and within a few minutes, Carl was at our table standing with a dish tray and clearing out the glasses and food of our guests who had stepped away to the restroom. We felt incredibly embarrassed and like we were nothing more than animals to be herded out so the next round of money could come in. When my daughter came back from the bathroom with her guest and said something about him clearing the table, the only response was, "I'm way ahead of you, young lady." No apology, no graciousness. Just a swift and rude dismissal. We saw it happening with others in the class too, and I have read other reviews where folks have had similar experiences, so maybe this is something they will work on. I hope so, because it would be a shame for this local business with great offerings in a beautiful location to lose patrons because they treat people poorly.

Carl and Donna were great hosts! Very accommodating and friendly, able to give lots of good information about the area. My wife and I stayed in Old Rag, beautiful room with very comfortable bed. We did the wine mixing activity, which was lots of fun. Highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a comfortable, romantic, modern B&B experience.

This is a lovely little hidden GEM out in the middle of rural VA wine/farm country. All wine from the vineyard is sold at the winery and sister tasting rooms only and is decently priced for the quality you are getting. Also, highly recommend taking a class at the winery, offered most weekends, to fully enjoy the experience.Parking is ample but I could see it fulling up on a good weather weekend so get there early!

Carl and Donna provided a class on pairing cheeses with wines for our local American Wine Society chapter and every one of our members left feeling like they had a wonderful experience, having learned exciting stuff about both cheese and wine that we had not heard anyplace else. They put on a great show and are a lot of fun to be around!

Came to play FG but stopped in for a glass of wine. The dry rose was ok but I was very disappointed with a) the pour, b) the plastic pixie cup it was served in.If you like paying >$10 for a 1/3 of the pour you would get at any other Rapp/Madison wineries in a plastic cup than this is the spot for you.Pretty disappointing. At least get some glasses (you can taste the plastic) and pour a full glass if you’re charging full glass prices. Tourist trap👎Also: not wheelchair accessible at all.

I love that their tasting includes a combination of wine around the world in addition to their own wine. Apparently they rotate the global wine each weekend. The setting is on the smaller side, which I appreciate. Friendly service. All of the wines offered were high quality. I’ll be back to this one.

It isn't a winery but a tasting room for wines produced further south. Besides their own wines they had a decent selection of wines produced elsewhere. That was a nice touch. My wife and I attended a wine tasting class. While my wife was really happy with the class I found it heavy handed in promoting their wines and smaller wineries (okay) but light on tasting skills and wine making backround, essential to tasting in general, any wines anywhere. Well, my wife loved it and I love my wife, 4.3 to 4.7 stars. Okay, five.

Best views of any winery in Shenandoah. Wines are mostly dry. Which is ok with me. Sit on the front porch of the mansion and feel all of life's stresses leave your body. Awesomeness.

We joined their wine club, everything was nice. It was never outstanding but it was never bad. I have lots of thoughts on this winery but I'm only going to post about the straw that broke the camels back. My husband and I were going out of the country for two weeks (Italy, to taste some truly outstanding wine) and typically we drive out to the winery to pick up our wine club shipment but we knew we wouldn't have a chance to before we left. So we emailed the owner, Carl, and requested that he ship the wine to us instead. We went out of the country in early September and we emailed him in July - plenty of time for this to be taken care of. He responded and said, absolutely. We double checked the address with him, authorized him to charge the additional amount for shipping and that was it. Weeks go by and we don't receive the wine and we don't hear anything from Carl. At this point it's mid-August and we're getting a little nervous because we leave in three weeks and we don't want the wine to be delivered while we're gone. We email Carl again and he responds, apologizing and telling us that he had gotten wrapped up in some things and forgot to ship it. No problem, we still had plenty of time. We told him that was fine and thanks for responding. Two more additional weeks go by and we never hear from him and we never receive the wine. Keep in mind that we've already paid for everything. We email him the week before we leave and tell him to not ship anything (not that it seemed like he was going to anyway) and that if we didn't hear a response we were going to ask for a refund. We never heard a response. We get back from Italy (late September) and email Donna, Carl's wife, and told her that we were charged for wine we never received, we would like a refund and we would like to be removed from the wine club. We received a very short and blunt email back from Carl that said, "We've refunded you for the wine and we will remove you from the wine club." And that was it! No apology, no explanation, nothing. I was floored. I expected some sort of reason or excuse and at the minimum I expected an apology. What I was left with was the feeling that they just never got around to shipping the wine because they didn't feel like it, didn't want to? I'm not sure. And that they weren't at all sorry for it. Which is really too bad and disappointing. My husband and I are very flexible and forgiving people and I wish we had a better experience here but unfortunately the complete lack of responsibility and customer service is enough to keep us away from this winery.

This is the most friendly, beautiful and comfortable B&B I've ever stayed in. The scenery is breathtaking and the Inn keepers are a joy to be around. Carl is a wonderful cook! And Donna will make sure you have everything you need. Be sure to visit the winery just down the hill from the Inn.

After lunch in Flint Hill we stopped by the winery. Made a wrong turn and ended up at the veterinarian. (Oops) . Made it up to the tasting room and was greeted inside and told that there were only 4 wines available for their flights. Only one was from their winery. If I want wines from France, I'll go to Wegman's and buy a bottle. We enjoy trying LOCAL wines at area wineries. Bought a flight and a glass and went out on their outside deck. Very pretty view but the guy mowing the grass right next to us with his zero turn was a bit annoying. Pretty disappointing!!!

Attended a dessert/wine pairing class this past weekend. While the content of the class was good, the event was overpriced and under-delivered. For the $40 price and a 2:30-5:00 proposed time frame, I expected multiple "courses" and much more interaction than was offered. There were 6 small pours of purchased wines and a refusal to provide a refill when someone wanted to experiment a bit more with the dessert/wine matches. We were even supposed to buy our own water apparently. The event was over in an hour when there was clearly nothing more to be said. This "winery" claims to grow 6 varieties of grapes, but there were only two being tasted at the time of our visit. None of the wines included in the class were estate wines. It appears that this winery is more of a wine shop where they rely on distributors to find unique wines for import and resale. Attending the class provided only a "two for one" discount in the tasting room, again a disappointment for the cost of the ticket. The winery is young, but without some changes to make their sales approach more competitive, I do not look for it to be around very long.

Lovely winery - great bootcamp. They will teach you good stuff about how to enjoy your wine... they have fabulous award winning wines as well as wines that they discover and import to share with their usually 10 wine lineup for tasting. Tasting is free for club members - and has been for a guest whenever I bring one. I LOVE their wine. They get busy there but it's worth a little patience. The bootcamp is something I highly recommend as I have really enjoyed wine so much more since then.

The view is nice on the back porch but not the best compared to other vineyards in the area. The property is nothing to write home about and somewhat underwhelming if you've been to other vineyards. Where this vineyard sets itself apart is with the wine. We did the wine boot camp which greatly exceeded our expectations. It was led by the owner, Carl, who was entertaining and a great educator on all things wine. We learned about ordering wine at restaurants, food pairings, proper aeration and so much more. On paper it was supposed to be 2 hours but we were sampling wine for almost three hours and probably tried 15 wines in total. I lean more toward IPAs and bourbon but this class increased my appreciation for wine and increases my ability to make informed eine decisions. Carl and the rest of the staff were excellent as we hung around after the class to ask questions. What sets this class apart is Carl's desire to teach you about good wine from all over the world instead of pushing their wine (it is not until the very end of the class that we actually were given a tasting of his wine).

I have taken multiple classes here based on a recommendation from a friend who took the class the male instructor. However, both times my class was led by a women who spent the majority of the time talking about other local grocery stores (or big stores) vice the wine. She also was borderline offensive with very age-focused comments to a class that was mostly millennials.

I loved our tasting experience here! Great wine, stuff, property. They also have sommelier that travels the world and brings back the wine, which they include in tasting! Really really fun! Definitely want to go back for a class!
