Sold bad meat and refuse to take it back because it was discounted. Was not able to show me a policy stating that the item was non refundable and then had the audacity to ask me if I want to take it with as I was leaving. The bacon was extremely slimy. I guess he thought he was dealing with someone who would eat anything.

I went there last week around 6:00 pm to the deli for fried chicken and the lady refused to wait on me she kept cleaning the deli meat slicer when a white lady came over she immediately stopped and said to her can I help you. I said to her I was here first and she came over to me but I got angry and walked away.

My husband and I love this community grocery store. They have great cuts of meats and still have an in-store butcher unlike some chain stores that only sell prepackaged meat cuts. They are well stocked, employees are pleasant and helpful and they have self checkout stations, which I like.

Great Valu has everything needed. Customer service is good, and there is never a long wait to check out. The store is clean and well stocked. Prices are a little high, but that's is to be expected since it's the only grocery store in the area. We like getting fried chicken from the deli occasionally, which is pretty tasty.

This is a great place for bulk frozen goodies, breads, and decent produce that is 50%off when purchasing with ebt... saved 42$ like that one day... it's not a huge store but has vast selection

Over priced. The produce section is rarely fresh. The bread aisle is barely stocked. It's the only store in the area and has a lot of business, but it's just crazy expensive.

Good service and friendly people with pretty wide selections. From time to time the temperature fluctuates drastically from freezing cold to comfy but that really isn't that big of a problem.. Today the only thing is a bunch of flies were inside the store today which not only was gross, but also annoying. Other than that the store really does stay pretty clean. I like it.

Yep. We live in a "food desert". The next closest grocery store is almost 30 miles away. This lil store is in a rural area and is a blessing. I wouldn't shop here for a week's worth as it's too expensive and has limited selection of brands. But it's great for a quick stop. The Culinary Circle brand pizzas are the best frozen we've ever had. Donna's been great in the bakery. The meat department is always willing to cut your meat any way you like. Dave is always sure to say, "hi." But their bananas... what's up with the bananas? They're never nicely ripe. They're either speckled or green and once you get them home they turn a funky color and end up in the trash.

This place used to be IGA many years ago. For some reason my family still calls it such. Anyhow, this place is a wonderful store. On occasion they have great deals on meats. Cashiers are polite and very friendly.

The store was clean, well-stocked, and well lit. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. Unfortunately, the ready-made sandwich, "The Cuban," was repulsive. Although, priced at $3.99, I should not have expected anything else

A great store to shop at. Lots of variety, good selection of fruits/veggies, and meats/seafood. They have a great deli and bakery. A small, but very well maintained store. Staff are so friendly as well as the busy managers.

This place is handy because it's the only store within miles and miles of anything but it is NOT Great Valu. Everything is over priced. However, they have an awesome selection of fresh meats all the time so that'd be the reason to go. Otherwise, save your money for a less expensive grocery store.

Great Val-U is an excellent grocery store for the area. It is located in a Food Desert a the next closest grocery store is 25+ miles away. Given this, they could jack up their prices, bit they haven't. While they are higher priced than Wal-Mart, the cost to shop there is reasonable. Unless you are shopping for the month, the cost of gas to drive to other stores is higher than the savings.The store is always well stocked and offers a good variety of products that cater to the locale.

I live 2 streets away from the Great Valu and its the only store for 20 miles.The prices are about the same as other stores but they have excellent hot food made fresh every day. The best fried chicken,catfish and blackberry cobbler

The prepared food is very good, with reasonable portions, and fresh bread (rolls/corn bread). They also have country specialities like country ham/sausage, dandoodles, unusual spices, and great customer service.

While this is a locally owned and operated grocery store, it is always clean, well stocked and extremely well staffed. Weekly sales and meats are excellent.

Glad there is a grocery store in an area that, since the grocery in Waverly closed, is the only store until food lion in windsor and you're better off going all the way to walmart or ALDI's. Many items are overpriced by a margin that goes beyond the cost of business. There has been a problem with WIC benefits, for months and months the bread did not function on WIC and 2% milk is still not covered as low fat. Every grocer ive ever been to that accepts WIC has taken 2% milk as low fat. This grocer is sitting on a gold mine it would be wonderful if there could at least be some good management with regard to your health department contracts. I won't be getting anything i dont absolutely need from here, not even WIC items like milk and bread. (Since, you know, i cant)

Even amidst all the chaos going on in the world right now, every single worker was super friendly and helpful while I attempted to get groceries with my two little ones. I drove 40 mins to come here and would do it again and again.
