I’m writing a review because this is unfortunately not my first poor experience at this location.I upgraded to the “deluxe” bath & brush. Normally a bath & brush alone takes 1-1 1/2 hours. Today it took a total of 40 minutes- this allegedly included the deluxe package.I was shocked and called to confirm I did book the additional services. Their excuse was my dog was the groomers only client at the time so she was able to speed up the process but yes, everything was done.My boyfriend picked my dog up so I was unable to verify.She smells clean and feels soft! However- she’s shedding like she has not been brushed, and itching!! they did not trim her sanitary area, her paw pads are only half trimmed, they ground her nails but they’re still so long she’s scratching my floors! Her teeth still have significant plaque/bad breath, and they didn’t even put bows on her…They told my boyfriend at pick up that I had called and if I wasn’t satisfied they’d touch her up for free… Great. Now I have to find time in my schedule to make it BACK to the groomer to do the original job I paid for. *paid an EXTRA $27 dollars for!Very disappointed in the service and even more so in how this was handled. Save your money and go elsewhere!

I always take my girls for their grooming here. The team is so friendly and sweet. The store is clean, bright and everyone is so sweet to the pets that visit the store.

I took my dog, Cooper, to be groomed at PetSmart Hilltop. He is a nervous/anxious dog and the staff was so friendly and patient with him. Hanna did his grooming on Sunday and she was very nice, friendly, and patient with Cooper. Cooper also smelled great and looked great when I picked him up! I will definitely be bringing Cooper back here for grooming!

Took my daughter to buy her first pet of her own tonight. Raven helped us and was both informative and patient as my daughter carefully picked out the perfect white hamster. We appreciated the time she took with us even though I know there is a ton to do during the evening!Thank you, Raven for making a little girl's dream come true!

Love taking my dog to Pet Smart. The employees are very friendly. I forget the one cashiers name, but she asks every customer about their pet. It is really sweet. Recently have started taking my dog to be groomed there. Lauren did a great job!!! Very happy.

Took both of my dogs in for a similar groom: bath, haircut, and nail grind. The only difference was that I asked for one of my dogs to be cut a little shorter due to them not cutting it long enough last time. I received my dogs and the one came back shaved very short. The manager replied, “yeah, we usually don’t recommend double-coated dogs be shaved.” I never requested shaving. I will not be back here or to any petsmart groomer.

I use their pet hotel whenever I need daycare for my pup. They always take amazing care of him. They provide progress reports and even small Polaroid pictures from special events. I knew it was a great place when I would see my the Lil guy get excited as we pulled into the parking lot.

We booked our puppy’s first haircut for today at 11 with Hannah B. It’s our first day off in a while where we’re available to take her. We got a call 20 min later saying their system is messed up and double booked us with another client. She wanted to reschedule us, not the other client, for another day. We said our availability was just for today, and she just didn’t say anything, and ended up cancelling us. I’m not sure if she chose an existing client over us, but it wasn’t a good first impression.

I was visiting family in Virginia and we went to Virginia Beach for an overnight stay. I decided to have my dog, Toby boarded at the pet hotel so he could have some doggy play time. The employees are extremely friendly and very patient especially when I forgot some vaccine information. They were in love with my dog. If I’m back in the area I will definitely bring him back!

If you are looking for somewhere to board your dogs... beware. I really thought I crossed my T's and dotted my I's by picking this PetsHotel to leave my two girls at- They had everything I was looking for. Staff on-site 24/7, inside quiet(er) rooms, and playtime. My girls have never been boarded before so this was our very first experience with a boarding facility. At first things were good. I covered all the basics with a staff member before our drop off date.I told them one of our dogs wasn't dog friendly, how much food to give them, etc. My parents were the ones to drop them off (we were out of town) and they told me they had a pretty bad experience with check in. They were asking them all kinds of questions- all of which I had already went over, a week prior to their stay. They seem pretty disorganized. (I'm just going off of what my parents said happened) ***The reason for my 3 stars, my dog Izzy came home with a huge open wound on her head. Izzy had just been seen by their vet (Banfield - which is now across the street) just hours before we picked them up. Why wasn't this open wound caught... by the vet.... by the staff.... when I picked my girls up I was exhausted, I didn't think to check them over before we left the store but I had noticed she had something brown-ish on the top of her head. Petsmart said she had been getting sick that day so I just assumed it to be something related to that and didn't question it. We later found out that brown-ish stuff I saw on top of her head was dried BLOOD. She immediately got a bath once we got home and that's when we discovered her injury. It was 4 minutes to closing time so we quickly called back up to Petsmart and spoke to Jordan. Jordan is the ONLY good thing about my experience here. She answered ALL of our questions, was extremely responsive anytime we'd call and was overall just extremely professional. When we told her of our dogs injury, she told us it'd be covered completely. And it was. Getting Izzy into an emergency vet was a nightmare. It took us over 12 hours to finally get her into Bay Beach Veterinary. (They told us the closest vet with open availability was Fredericksburg) Jordan was with us every step of the way. She too was calling the vet trying to get our girl in. It's been two weeks and I'm happy to say our girl izzy has made a complete recovery. But the point is, this happened here, in their care. And unfortunately, with izzy not being able to speak and tells us what happened, we don't and will probably never know. I thank Petsmart for covering all expenses- as they should've. But I will never ever board here again. And I will warn others not to as well. A head injury is super serious. Especially with Izzy being an older dog. What would've happened if their stay here was longer and her wound gone unnoticed.... 😕

The staff at PetSmart at Hilltop, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, are one of the friendliest, most caring people around. They love your pets as if they were their own. It’s not one time that my wife and I have brought our dog Chewy to PetSmart, whether it’s for doggy day camp or to be groomed by the individuals who work there. They know him personally. Not just knowing Chewy, the staff calls him by his name. Chewy can tell when he’s going to PetSmart to play with his furry little friends because his tail wags uncontrollably with excitement, knowing he will have a great time. Chewy loves being there, and he loves the staff and everything that PetSmart represents. I highly recommend PetSmart to anyone looking for people who treat their pets with love and respect. My wife and I love PetSmart, and they have us as customers for life!!!

Great place! My cats love to stay at the Pets Hotel.They are fantastic with grumpy old cats. My 15 year old cat only trusts this pets hotel.They are the best in his opinion! I agree.

I like this PetSmart, mainly because of the adoptable cats. I like to go hang out with the cats and play with them. They have a very high adoption rate, which is awesome. The staff here is friendly. I have never used the vet office nor the groomer but I know they hold dog training classes and do special events.

Moved from Norfolk to this side of Virginia beach and never have I went into a petsmart and there is NO fresh step litter on the shelves at all. Only litter they had was tidy cat. Very disappointed.

We had our rescued Australian shepherd's nails cut and Dremel filed for the first time in their grooming department. The two female groomers were wonderful!Thanks ladies!Store and grooming department 👍

My two dogs absolutely love hilltop doggy camps! They always go in happy and come out even happier. I can’t say enough good things about everyone here. Knowing my dogs are being loved and taken care of puts me at ease leaving them behind for the day.

I waited in the car with my animal while my mom went inside. she came out with the correct product and there were signs in the parking lot instructing people to call 911 if anyone noticed an animal or child unattended in a vehicle , which was pleasant to see

Had our little Maltipoo on for grooming. Great groomers. We had Jordan. He did a nice job. The prices seemed a bit high...Our bill was over90.00 !

When I moved here from CT 2 years ago, I started to take my dog to PetSmart's pet spa being it is closest to my home. As time went on, I noticed how unsanitary it is! Every time I would pick her up in the afternoon, there is hair everywhere and smells horrible. Why doesn't anybody clean as they go? I've also heard of abuse that goes on at this location with reports made by employees but management has ignored the issue! I now go to a different groomer and my baby's demeanor is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT when leaving there! It is truly like she went to the spa! The place is clean all day and if you can't pick your baby up for a long period of time, they have a play area! Last time I picked her up she didn't even care to see me! I will never go to PetSmart again.

I love taking my dog coco here. My dog were to Laura she did a really good job. I have a purebred toy poodle 🐩 she gave him the teddy bear cut. He looks Adorable after. They have Excellent customer service too. I made sure to give a good tip, I appreciate their good service.

Had a appointment for my dog to get groomed. Picked her up and noticed as I was checking out she was bleeding from her back paw. Asked for a manger they wanted her to see their vet. Which had no appointments available! I contacted my vet they told me what to do. I get home and her eye lid is cut. Very upset at this point the groomer had to know and didn’t say a word! They said oh you don’t have to pay well duh! Horrible never again!
