I just love owl creek! The sweetest people work here. I use them for my vet, groomer, boarder and daycare and my dog loves to come here. He is so excited to see all of the workers and all of the other dogs. All the workers remember him and details about him and that’s how you know they truly love and care for your animals.

In 2022 I moved from Hawaii back to my hometown of Virginia Beach and I was so nervous to find her a reputable vet, but let me tell you everyone at Owl Creek is amazing! Dr. Ann is great!! Our 1st time there, they squeezed us in on the day we called! Very informative and thoroughly explained everything!! My dogs have been coming here for almost 3 years. The staff have been nothing but attentive, caring, and efficient for every visit. Any health issue or symptom we’ve encountered was monitored closely and treated in an urgent manner, you can tell they don’t want to take the chance of overlooking something, even if it didn’t appear to be an emergency. They are fast at delivering lab work results and refilling prescriptions, and it’s easy to book appointments online. Dr. Ayre has stayed late after closing on multiple occasions to make sure my pups were ok whenever we had to come in on short notice. She is so thorough in making sure the dogs are comfortable in the office and that we knew how to do all the follow up care at home.

We unfortunately had to put down our elderly cat today at Owl Creek Veterinary Hospital. Overall the care was great for him which we are grateful for. The problem was when we were unexpectedly charged for 2 euthanasia/cremation fees which brought the overall bill to $587. My husband had paid for the agreed services and then right after the vet tech said he hadn't paid for the euthanasia fee of $177 yet (which he had already paid for, for $275 that included cremation). Afterwards when I saw the bill and saw that he paid for 2 euthanasia/cremation fees, I called and was placed on hold which is fine. The front office person who helped me did her best and was definitely stuck in the middle between myself and I'm assuming the office manager. Instead of doing the right thing at first of refunding my additional $177 that I was wrongly charged, they decided that they would tack on an exam fee and partially refund me. My husband had turned down the exam due our cats current health and his poor quality of life. Mind you we just put our family cat down, was charged extra and I am having to call and banter back and forth for a refund for their mistake. After almost 45 minutes of this phone call with a large majority being on hold. They refunded the extra $177 we were charged. No family should have to call after going through with the decision of putting an animal down and then having to fight for a refund that wasn't our mistake. We have had to put down several animals in the past for age or health reasons and never had an experience like this. Our cat is worth the money but their customer services handling the mistake was poor.

I have to say that the staff at this location is so loving and caring. I recently lost my beloved dog Alice. It’s only been a little over a week. I moved and contacted them via email letting them know of my pups passing only because I didn’t want to keep getting emails. They sent me a sympathy card! I received it today! This was so unexpected and appreciated. I highly recommend this vet hospital! I am so thankful to all the doctors and staff who personally signed the card and took the time to share their condolences. Thank you!

Wonderful care from Owl Creek Vet Hospital! If they are booked up for the day, they allow you to leave your pet so they can work them in and they call when they are done. Excellent idea.As far as our dog Joey, he was much sicker than we realized and they took care of him. And since then they have called us several times to make sure he’s doing better.Couldn’t have asked for better service or better care!!

This was our second visit with Owl’s Creek. The staff was very pleasant amenable to our dog’s needs. Additionally, Dr. Marble has the best bedside manner of any vet I’ve ever had. He understands how to work animals and people incredibly well. My dog is normally very suspicious and guarded. He warmed right up to Dr. Marble. I can’t recommend OCV highly enough!

When we first moved to Virginia Beach 6 years ago, we took our cats to a different vet office that assessed one of our cats and immediately claimed feline Leukemia Virus and said our other cat probably had it too, scaring us to the core, without even doing a full proper examination. We decided to find a second opinion and more thorough check up before assuming the worst. That’s when we found Owl Creek Vet and we’re SO glad we did! Dr. Ayre found that our cat simply had a bacterial build up and put her on antibiotics. We’ve been with her ever since and haven’t looked back! She’s helped us tremendously with our cats through heart disease, cancers, and now preparing to move our baby overseas. We trust her and the WHOLE team at Owl Creek whole heartedly. They are always warm, welcoming and helpful, thorough with their work and examinations, and will spend the time to answer all your questions and explain test results and treatments. We’ve unfortunately had to deal with a lot for our furbabies, but they’ve always been in the best care at Owl Creek!

what an amazing experience we had today at owl creek vet hospital. they took us in last minute, they were extremely professional, didnt treat us like we were dumb, treated our dog Zuko like he was an actual patient instead of just a 1-in-a-thousand pet they have every week, they didnt seem like they were just trying to sell us products, they seemed legitimately concerned and serious about the issues our dog was having. all around a great experience. our dog (who is usually very stressed and anxious in vet offices like Banfield) was very relaxed. it was quiet and stress free. they handled him so well and professionally. we will absolutely be switching our vet to owl creek from now on. our vet was Dr. Hood and she was amazing, personable, and professional. highly recommend. (also Zuko loved the couch in the examination room).

Very nice facility! The staff is also very nice and patient! All my documents were jumbled up but they worked with me and helped me organized them. They also tried to make my pup feel as comfortable as possible with his shots. They have decent prices and offer online pharmacy as well they will ship medication straight to the house! I am willing to try out their daycare as they have a pool

I took my puppy to wue they cut his nails and cut his hair, and they don't know they left the dog like a rat. and the nails should know that if they take blood it is because they cut too much, the nails bled, I do not recommend it at all.

It was my first time using Owl Creek Veterinary kennels. The place was very nice and super clean, the staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming. On drop off day the check in was quick and easy and they made me feel safe about leaving my cat. On pick up day they were just as efficient. My cat came home purring. I would definitely recommend this boarding service and going forth would use them again

Dr Ayer is a very good vet and she dedicates herself to her practice and the health of her patients. She is very direct and sometimes, that direct approach is a little harsh but her intent and heart are in the right place.I first went to see her because our English Bully was having issues keeping her food down. She found additional problems with her that were truly unexpected and left me wondering how so many other "bully" vets had missed these issues. Sadly, it was MY EXPERIENCE, that I found out that her knowledge of the breed was not as extensive as I had thought. For those that own English Bulldogs you know what I mean. They tend to have abnormalities that are indeed normal and not exactly treated like you would another breed of dog. Her diagnosis cost a lot of money and time that in looking back now, could have been taken care of in other ways.Additionally, I found that getting prescriptions for food or refills was cumbersome. This made it tough to save money because food and refills had to be acquired at the hospital.So for English Bulldogs, I would not choose this pet hospital. However, that does not mean I wouldn't choose her for other breeds. As stated, she is dedicated and no nonsense. She doesn't hesitate to refer you to specialists if the issue is not a general problem. She does not attempt to diagnose unless she has xray reports (or any other report) or labs written by professionals in their field. This does amount to $$$ but if you have it or have insurance, you will have no worries.So, yes, I'd recommend her for your pets well being.
