Best plant selection I've seen in the area so far. What this store lacks in hardscape, they make up for with live plants. Also, tank prices here were reasonable and the staff were very helpful.

So boring. Staff does not know anything about the hobby and resorts to using a scanning app to identify the fish? disorganized fish displays. Nothing really unique. Not many tanks, lots of open unused space. Beautiful cylindrical tank up front but has comet feeder goldfish in it?? I’m confused. And staff does not know the prices of the animals. Will not bother visiting again.

IThey have all kind of cool fish here! Most likely if you can't find it at another store it'll be here. They also have a large variety of plants and saltwater fish to choice from. All the chemicals and tank treatments you can thank of. They also have some awesome drift wood here. The staff if not to busy almost make sure to ask if your finding what you need as well. The only issue is that some of the products here are a bit over priced and can find them else were for a bit cheaper.

Fish safari is gone. Leroy has sold the business. The new owners have turned the store into a shell of what once was a great store. Nothing special anymore.

I was sad as I thought jungle safari had closed, but it turns out they just moved and changed their name! They are now next door in a larger space and I am excited to see what they do with it. So far they still have an excellent selection of plants and livestock. The staff is very helpful and friendly!

This place is great! Friendly staff knowledgeable and patient. I bought four shrimp from them and when I got home one was dead, that's nobody's fault; they immediately made it right over the phone. The dead shrimp is in no way of reflection of the quality of this store however their response to the problem is. You can buy from these people with confidence. I'll be back.

Experience wise they've always been great. I get my CO2 filler and the employees are always helpful and knowledgeable. Top notch.But since they moved from the old location next door and changed their name from Fish Safari, their selection of fish has gone down terribly. They have maybe a third of what they used to carry in fish and plants. It used to be a treat to visit and just browse. Today was actually depressing, as I wanted more sharks and they have none.I dunno if they lost a lot during the move or what, but they have upgraded their equipment and it seems the upgrades came with a loss in live stock.

I would give this place a 5, but the place is seriously cramped. Seems like a stupid complaint, but I couldn’t look at anything for more than a minute without someone bumping into me. Prices are higher than I would expect for some fish. They had fish I have never seen. The girl that helped me was new and incredibly friendly. I will return.

I purchased three seahorses from here, we originally wanted a pair, but since seahorses are social creatures we got the third as well to make sure they were not left alone, and we were given a discount. We were very excited and most of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, but when we got the seahorses home we noticed that one of them had a large, what appeared to be, cyst on their back. We immediately called the store and were told it was a "scratch" and to keep an eye on it. Well it was getting bigger and ended up "popping" for lack of a better term. We went in to the store to see if they could offer some assistance in terms of medication etc. and they refused to help. They told us that the first thing they wanted was to keep them alive, well yeah that's why we were there, but then offered no assistance in what we could do other than giving us the name of a Facebook group that was "quick to approve". It is worth mentioning that the tank the seahorses were in at the store was now completely empty... On the advice of someone else we gave them a freshwater dip to help if they had parasites since that is what they had stated the "scratch" probably was. I can go ahead and let you know that they were infested with parasites. When seahorses are put into a freshwater dip the parasites will burst because of the change in water, salt to fresh, it was honestly beyond terrible just how many were on them. Well on Saturday one of the seahorses (the one with the "scratch" passed, and the Facebook group approved us that morning, 6 days after we initially requested it. Honestly we were devastated and after speaking with the store all they had to say was " we cant guarantee the fish", which is a totally understandable policy BUT they should be able to guarantee they were sold healthy. Essentially, we were sold sick seahorses and were not given any assistance when we tried our best to save them. Luckily we were given help elsewhere and hopefully will be able to save the other two.I have attached a picture of the "scratch" in question

This is my favorite Reef store in Virginia Beach the staff are very knowledgeable very polite and really know their stuff about reef tanks of course the sell fresh water too but if you're looking to set up a reef tank they can help you from the beginning to the end from beginners to pros and the manager take my hair off to her she's very nice person to work with great prices and I can wait from will it be in Norfolk just to come to Virginia Beach you put the good work guys

My first visit here just blew me away. I am a long time fish hobbyist of both fresh and saltwater aquariums and was very please with the health of the plants and animals here. They have an amazing variety of livestock and supplies and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. It is a long drive for me but I will be back SOON.

Updated Review Sept 3: I will preface by saying that my wife and I have NEVER left a second review about one location, and we frequently leave reviews. I don't recall the date that I wrote our first review, however this is update reflects our most recent visit and our current tank that was previously described.First, WE LOVE OUR TANK that we bought here. The bundled price was WELL worth it. ANY AND ALL fish and coral we have purchased from this location has survived and thrived. Unfortunately, I cant say the same for other local locations Nor amy I putting blame on any other stores.The thing that has most impressed us is that the staff whom have taken full interest in OUR tank and whats best for it. Its safe to say our tank is looking so good and thus far have an outstanding survival rate, due to a combination of positive attributes this location offers; Knowledge, customer service, very fair prices, clean.We are always kindly greeted, asked about a specific fish or corals we have (showing they remember us). The knowledge the staff has is incredible and you can tell each employee enjoys the hobby and express it through their work ethic. I can speak specifically for Brad, Tanner and Brandy (sorry if misspelled).They ALL have made the journey of our once lost, now refound, hobby with our reef tank well worth it. We cant say enough about this place and we now make it a weekly place to simply visit or purchase the things needed to help our tank, fish and corals. We can't thank this location enough for all of their help.Lastly, in the few months we first visited, the inventory has near doubled and is always clean and easy to shop. Keep up the good work!MY wife and I have to many words to say about our experience today. I will sum it up as easily as I can Many years ago I had a reef tank that I killed by mistakes and light penetration. I basically would say im new to it again.We went shopping today to 2 different location, i wont say the first. It was simply to shop. Upon arriving at this location customer service was 10 out of 10. Welcomed by Brandy (sorry if spelling is wrong). Layout of store was simple, clean, straight to the point, easy to shop, selection was just enough to not be overwhelming.Move forward, after wife and I had asked a million questions (sorry guys), we decided to take advantage of their 20 percent off sale. Keep in mind i have been shopping around online to get ideas and for what i wanted (without live rock and fish) was going to run me around $800 to $900. We were then greeted by a Gentlemen , with such passion and great customer service named Brad. He then took over to start talking about setting up rock, to make a good base, and have the caves i wanted etc. Even demonstrated and stacked it on Styrofoam so we could visualize and take pictures to remind us of a great idea. Needless to say, after just wanting to shop, without ANY SALES PITCHES AND B.S, we decided to purcahse, get all the sand, rock, live rock, 2 fish to start the cycle, i came out under 800 and got wayyyyyyy more then i wanted. The customer service alone would have allowed me to easily pay 1000 without a doubt. I was shocked to see prices of certain things to be close to 10 to 15 years ago.All around 10 out of 10. THANK YOU BRANDY AND BRAD for such a wonderful experience and guiding us through this process again. We are thrilled to support this buisness as I once did with Fish Safari.

I really love this store. They have such a great collection, Ive bought fish and snails here and had good luck. Yesterday I bought 3 snails and unfortunately one didn't make it and they were really nice to exchange it for me, just need a water sample, body, and receipt. I can't wait until my bigger tank is cycled and I can start getting some bigger fish here!! I've had my eye on a few if someone doesn't get them before me

Brought a pleco(12.99) and 2 other catfish on 4/30 the pleco died Sunday night however when I took fish back yesterday they would not replace due to the water sample.(the fish had decomposed in sample over 48 hrs)When I advised that the 2 other fish were still living and I have purchased fish from them before...I even asked if they would replace with 2 less expensive algae eaters (4.99). They Refused!!!!! I'm pretty sure they have at least 2 dead fish in their tanks weekly??? It wouldn't have hurt them to satisfy a repeat customer however not only have they lost my business but now you have this review!
