Cute little hole in the wall on RT 15 close to Troy Post Office. Pricing is on par with other places. (It is a mom & pop type business. They need our support to continue) Regular twist cone is around $5, and it's huge. Small 6-7 space gravel parking area with quick turn over. You're not staying more than 15 minutes. Be cautious if using a wheelchair, hold onto smaller children, and watch for turning vehicles.

Unique place in Troy that offers a covered spot to sit and eat the ice cream. Parking can be tight.Recently changed owners and the value isn't the same it seems. The menu seems to be set, and if you want to add something or take something away, it seems to always be an issue. I usually get the strawberry shortcake however I don't like whip cream. When I ask to leave this off, they have to find the button for it on the register.Just an observation, but I think that charging $1.50 to add a teaspoon of M&M's to ice cream is a little steep considering the new prices for just a small bowl of vanilla ice cream.They offer the flavor burst for ice cream. I am not a huge fan of this but some may like it. It is basically a system that infuses a flavored syrup onto the soft serve.Update: I went back and ordered a milkshake. The price of the shake on the board is for vanilla only, they charge extra for strawberry or chocolate. It was runny, and almost like strawberry milk.All in all a neat little place on the side of the road in Troy.

I bought two of these and paid $6 a piece. After tax almost $13…very disappointing. I asked the young lady working was she sure this was right? She just shrugged her shoulders and nodded yes. I’ve been coming here for years and have always felt satisfied but not this day. To the new owners: quality control, you can do better

Best Ice cream EVER! I came to visit family from NC and they mentioned Pa Pa Jim’s. We drove over and I am so glad I don’t live here because you can have all my money! So good! All the complaints I read about pricing, but the menu offered is most def worth the price. I am obsessed with the hot fudge sundae and my kids love the banana shake and cookies shake along with the Italian ice and down to basic cup of vanilla with sprinkles. The staff is always so friendly, patient and kind. The order comes up so quick. Love the covered seating and even the little jungle gym to keep kids a little busy so parents can eat theirs! Well done!!!

We typically go to Papa Jim's all the time. There's a lot of local kids there that I teach and the food is usually on point. However, yesterday I had a mocha milkshake and that thing was amazing. I have to say in all the years that I have been to Papa Jim's I've never had a milkshake. I will have to say I will probably be getting more milkshakes from Papa John's from now on. If you're in the area and stopping by get a milkshake or try it out when I call the Superwoman. If you're wondering what a superwoman is, it's chocolate with cookie dough Brownie and hot fudge. Go ahead and get you some.

We have driven past this most weeks for a couple years and finally after hearing several recommendations we gave it it a try. It was amazing. So many different flavors of soft serve you normally never see. The Butter Pecan soft serve was outstanding. Make sure to stop by to beat the heat and get some delicious ice cream

My family and I have been going to Papa Jim’s for many years. It became our little spot. As I’m sure it did for many other families. We were saddened to hear it would be sold, and worried the new owners would not live up to the Papa Jim name. We have gone a handful of times since the business sold and have not had a good experience any of those visits, but nothing to write home about until today. The two young ladies Amber and Ellie were extremely rude. Ellie took our order and her attitude was something I have never experienced at this establishment. It was like we were bothering her by being there. Absolutely nothing friendly about the encounter. My husband ordered a milkshake and Ellie proceeded to yell Amber we have a milkshake. In which amber replied with a very snarky tone “ughh are you serious” I was blown away. As if that was not bad enough when Amber came to the pick up window to hand us our order she was very short and clearly annoyed, she practically shoved the ice cream at us. Not only has the quality of the ice cream declined but so has the customer service. It pains me to say that after years of traveling to our favorite spot, I don’t think we will be returning. We have celebrated so many memories here. Our son learning how to ride a bike, we brought our senior dog here the day he passed for one final pup cup, celebrated 2 graduations, and so many more. This really is a total bummer.

Such an adorable little spot. We stopped here on our way to the beach. The soft serve is so good! The people are SO nice. Got our pup a pup "cup" but it was a larger bowl. I wish it was a little smaller! Can't wait for my dog to try their new flavor they're getting in for the doggos!

Great service, great deserts, totally would recommend.Also, although it isn't a huge deal, space for parking is very small, but because this place is on the side of the road, you can't blame them for that to much.

Cashier freaked out when I asked to purchase the two day special gift card for $20. and get an extra $5. that was posted on Facebook ( This Week Last Week Of School till Wednesday)maybe she got nervous with the long line behind me and went puzzle, who knows!Well I just ordered my ice cream and went on from there. Maybe I'll wait for the next gift card special offer. Oh Well!!!

Great spot! I meet my parents and sister here on Mother's Day weekend since it is halfway between our homes in Richmond and Stuart's Draft. Great options and very wonderful staff. Milk shake was perfect! They also provide appropriate sized straws, think double McDonald's straw (listen up competitors). Wife and son had blended cotton candy soft serve and loved it. Mom and sister had arctic blast (blizzard) and loved theirs. Prices were very reasonable for all of the options. We will be back!!

Just basic soft serve ice cream at a decent price. It feels like an ice cream shop from the 60s or 70s. Lots of different folks stop in so it's good people watching if you're into that. Good place to bring the kids for a summer weekday treat.

My favorite ice cream place... Everything is great! Only complaint is the hours. Closed twice a week and closed at 7pm? Sun goes so late in the summertime. People are eating dinner later... Can't go get ice cream after dinner.

We dropped our kids off at their sleep away camp (Westview on the James) and decided to drive around a little while to explore the area before heading back home. We actually passed it and it looked interesting and so we decided to turn around and come back since it was hot outside. They have a lot of different flavors of soft serve ice cream 🍦. Also a lot of things you might find at a DQ but with a different name. I would highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area and would like some ice cream any time of the year. They also have a fire pit it looks like for the colder months.
