One of those wonderful older mom and pop places that have survived decades of change. Obviously, for a good reason! The staff were so nice. The food was hot and good. I loved sitting at the bar with the swivel stools and a greasy spoon sign above the food window. Definitely one of those places we need to frequent and appreciate.Kid-friendliness: The staff were patient and kind to my two littles.

Quaint, roadside diner feel with welcoming atmosphere! Waitress was friendly and attentive. Pork tenderloin was tasty, mashed potatoes were a great compliment to the pork, and fried apples were very tasty. Enjoyed the meal and the visit. Just remember to bring cash, as they do not take credit or debit cards or checks. There is an ATM available if you need it.

Well I'm excited to give this place a great review! I have a ton of food restrictions and allergies. They were over the top accommodating. Any place that goes through what they have to to feed me is always a challenge. I have an animal protein allergy. This is a classic American grill restaurant. They do a lot on their grill and me asking for various things far and away from cross-contamination concerns was not a problem for them. I eat predominantly as a vegetarian because I do have a meat allergy. They had items on the menu that could easily be healthy for vegetarian meals. I would even go as far as to say that they even have options for vegans. Nonetheless my friends that I was with enjoyed their dinners and I did too! Good job Greenwood. You've become a local favorite for me. I will say that the quality of the food and prices, plus the service was truly fantastic!👍If you found my review helpful please do give me a thumbs up and feel free to follow me here on Google.Vegetarian options: As mentioned in my review I predominantly live as a vegetarian and they were very accommodating because of my cross-contamination challenges with allergies. There are items on the menu you can easily find. They don't necessarily have a section but it's very good here and I believe that you can find something that's healthy and strict to being vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: I'm loaded with restrictions and they were exceptionally accommodating. I have a meat allergy and I'm always concerned with cross-contamination. Excellent!Parking: Plenty of parking spots and handicap parking.Kid-friendliness: This is a casual environment and is suitable for all sorts of people of any age.Wheelchair accessibility: Although there is handicap parking I don't feel that it is very easy to manipulate yourself through this place. Nonetheless it is available.

If you love dives, stop here! Excellent place! Wouldn't have stopped here before without Google's 4.5 star reviews. Exactly as we expected. Sketchy digs, great food! Ordered a half hot roast beef sandwich and it was huge! Just like grandma's cooking. Quick service. Very inexpensive, which allows you to tip your server well! Hot homemade rolls. Only thing better would have been to have real butter for them! Bring only cash. There is an ATM inside for your use if needed.

We went in to get some good home cooking that I didn't have to cook. They have everything you can think of - country fried steak, catfish, burgers, milkshakes, every vegetable you can imagine, mac and cheese, pie, cakes, cobblers. So much! It's good food, nothing fancy at all and a cash only place. It looks on the outside exactly like what it is on the inside. I had a wonderful breakfast at this hidden gem off highway 11 in Troutville. The breakfast was out of this world. The eggs were perfect and cooked to perfection, I ordered Joyce’s potatoes and found them very flavorful. I also ordered the scrapple and homemade buttermilk biscuits. They were fluffy and delicious. I give this place a perfect 10. The service was excellent. I’m going back the next visit to Pennsylvania.

The carpet was nasty looking, the ceiling was caving in, and my fried chicken was raw in the leg. The fried okra was delicious and so was the squash. The coconut cream pie that my aunt got was old and soggy.

Well worth the stop! We had drove past this place several times before finally stopping one day and trying it out. Now we go every other weekend. The wait staff is very welcoming and friendly. They are a CASH only restaurant but that shouldn’t stop you from having a great meal. I have tried something different each time we went and they have all Been excellent! Nice home made food, be sure to try a desert or get one to go.

This is county cooking at it's finest. Sunday dinner is like eating at granny's. Lemon pie and carrot cake are homemade. They make you feel "at home".

Editing from 3 years ago. Restaurant is under new ownership due to Covid, a few menu items are no longer available on the original menu. Breakfast is no longer offered all day on the weekends, and they close much earlier in the day now at 3 p.m. We ordered breakfast today, western omelettes along with an order of two cream chip beef biscuits. No sides come included with the omelette besides toast, which we did not get, and we got two full orders of biscuits (4 total) instead of just the two.. The biscuits did seem to be made from scratch and had a most wonderful texture and taste with the gravy not being too heavy or salty. Still a good 'go-to' but we will have to update again after we can snag our usual dinner before they close.Everything is good here. Have been going for the better part of 25 years (my whole life). Comfort food at its best. You have to try hard to save room for dessert, the portions are great and at a great price. Take out available. This is our 'go-to' for take out. This is a cash only establishment, so consider stopping by an ATM if you tend to only use plastic

The food was good, it looked impressive on the plate. Hubby was disappointed they didn't actually have the chicken & dumplings he saw on the website & were also listed on the menu bc he picked this restaurant just for that. We were told it was an old menu. Wednesday was one of the 2 days listed for fried chicken but they didn't have that either. The waitress worked hard & by herself.
