We have dealt with Botetourt veterinary hospital for over 20 years. Always caring and helpful. From preventative care to boarding and bathing etc. Never anything but very compassionate care. Everyone from reception to our pitbull whisperer Dr. Muse top notch. Not sure Murphy could do much better. Thank you all.

Botetourt Vet Hospital has always been our place of choice to take our pets. We have experienced change with staff off and on but have always felt confident that our pets will receive great care. Dr Stewart was so kind and knowledgeable during our most current visit.

We had a morning appointment for our dog to have blood work, shots, and groomed. We were told would be ready around 2 or 3. By 4 we had no phone call so I called them and was told our dog should be ready for pick up around 5pm. Our regular vet no longer works there so we had a new vet who was thorough and friendly enough. But it seemed our last vet took more of a personal interest in us, was more accurate in estimating time of treatment. The price of services may be competitive but certainly not inexpensive.

This is the best vet in the area, in my opinion. I have never had an issue and they are very knowledgeable and very friendly. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else.

Quiet, clean, friendly practice!I love the mom and pop feel of this private vet clinic. It's super personable, and you feel cozy and safe bringing your fur family there. Dr. Havrila is the kindest, most compassionate vet I've ever had, and I won't take my pets to anyone else. She takes the time to gain your animal's trust and makes them comfortable before exams, and she knows her stuff!The vet techs and front desk were just as great. You can tell they love what they do.Thank you, folks, for being a place I can trust with my pets.

I've been a long-time client of the clinic with my family's cats and dogs, and had an absolutely wonderful experience getting my big pointy-eared baby Sadie the veterinary care she needed. Dr. Havrila was very helpful and understanding with my dog's nervousness. "Very helpful and very professional" is the best way I can sum up Botetourt Veterinary Hospital. Never had visited Botetourt Veterinary Hospital before, however, they were the only ones out of the 5 places I called that was willing to work my dog in when he was ill. They showed compassion and went the extra mile to ensure my furbaby was ok. I cannot thank them enough. They've earned my business from now on with our dogs. What a wonderful group of veterinarians, technicians, and staff. Everyone is so pleasant and extremely knowledgeable in today's technology. No "old-school" practice. They treat each patient as though it's the only one they have. I am so blessed to have found them. I only wish I had gone to them years ago.

I cannot say enough great things about this office. Luckily we don’t have to come often except for routine things but this past week we were faced with an unexpected visit. I thought we were going in for a simple sick visit but shortly after we were advised that our cat was super sick. If it were not for Dr. Carel being as proactive and concerned as she was it could have been a different outcome. We ended up being transferred to EVS which obviously was not ideal but we trusted the urgency. We were able to get our cat back at BVH the next morning once he was stable and Dr. Carel and her staff cared for our Tilda cat until the next day. All that to say they kept us updated on how he was doing and was upfront about the price. Not to mention the day he was discharged Dr. Carel came in on her day off to check on him and call me to update. My husband and I both agree that a vet that comes in on her day off is a vet worth keeping. Do not want to forget the front staff and the assistants who also took such great care of our boy

I am very impressed with Botetourt Veterinary Hospital!! Being still semi new to Virginia, I previously had a closer primary vet as I live near Smith Mountain Lake, and when I called to make an appointment I found out that my veterinarian had left for another practice who had been seeing my senior 15 yr old pup and was very familiar with his condition and health.When i found out she started practicing here I immediately made the switch over so he could see Dr. Havrila! I was so excited to find her!The entire Botetourt Veterinary Hospital staff have been amazing! They're extra gentle with my senior dog who has a few health issues and they were extra gentle and communicative with his most recent dental procedure as well as nail trimming.Everyone from the front desk to the vet tech and Dr. Havrila took the time to speak with me and calm my nerves about the procedure, answer all of my questions (as silly as some where) and made me feel comfortable ...especially Dr. Havrila who i am forever grateful too for delivering on her care and promise to my pup.My husband and I will be using Botetourt Veterinary Hospital for our senior pup as well as our other pup, and any future animals.Being treated like a human as well as treating my dog with love and true compassion is worth the 45 minute drive for us from SML!

I have patronized this vet office for 30 plus years. Unfortunately my last experience has not been a good one. I have tried for 2 days to get results from a urine test for my puppy. I was told the vet on duty could not give me the results because he never saw my puppy. I would have to wait until Monday. If she has a UTI that is a long time to wait. I'm upset and disheartened.

Dr. Stuart and the vet techs are great with our 4 legged children. They listen well and offer various recommendations for treatment options but let us choose what we want for our fuzzies. Highly recommend this place!
