Went to Meats of Virginia today for lunch. It was absolutely amazing. I got a Roast Beef Wrap, my husband got a Cuban Sandwich and my son got a Mile High Turkey Sandwich. This place is off the beaten path and well worth the drive. Outdoor seating but you won’t even know it because the sandwiches, sides and desserts are so good.

Really nice place. I’ve always wanted to stop here. I’ve passed it several times coming back-and-forth from Smithfield. Finally had some time today to stop in and get me a great sandwich. Really nice piece of dessert. Good customer service was really impressed.

Sandwich was huge yes. But SWIMMING in mustard. WAY too much. The ham slices tasted exactly like lunchmeat. My dog liked it. Sandwich was $17.99, combo, 22.99, yet they charged us 26.xx. Pumpkin praline pie was too sweet and the praline overpowered the pumpkin taste.We went in and the 3 of them didn't bother to say hello. We looked around then went to the counter and they didn't bother to look up. Til I asked about sandwiches.No. Not again.

Grabbed sandwiches today for lunch and had second half for dinner they were sooo big. One Cuban and one turkey club with cole slaw, chips, and a delicious slice of cake for dessert. Totally worth a ferry ride from Williamsburg to try this great sub shop. They also have a unique collections of meats to buy.

Visited with my wife and younger son 2/3/2024. This place is very unique. We were not in the market for meats that day, but the selection is great, with an assortment of unique meats to choose from as well. We were looking for a place to have lunch and heard this establishment had a deli as well. I've got to tell you, wow, awesome food! Don't short change yourself, try this place out if you enjoy deli food. The folks running this business are very friendly and attentive as well.

What a find! We came across on the ferry to explore Bacon’s Castle and Smithfield and stopped for a quick bite. The sandwich was HUGE and absolutely delicious. We did a combo that included chips, a drink, and a delectable lemon bar. Mmmmmmm. But, even more than the wonderful lunch, I appreciated the friendliness and cheer that greeted us! What a great day. Thanks for the Virginia hospitality and delicious meal.

BurritoDumpling were passing through and saw this spot. Always looking interested in butcher shops, we decided to stop in. This is far from a butcher shop which is why it is given 2* and not more. It is basically a general store / deli sandwich shop. They have some pre-packaged meat but nothing that is even remotely like a butcher shop. Didn’t have anything from the sandwich counter (don’t think I would even call it a deli counter) but thought it was cute and the deserts looked decent and the sandwiches looked well portioned.Your Burrito edits to add, I have previously worked at a butcher shop many moons ago, and unless they are cutting, processing, and storing meat somewhere in the back, this is not it. My expectation in a place that calls itself a butcher shop is a meat counter with with raw meat, not packaged, behind display case glass, and some person to get me however many pounds I want or whichever steaks I choose. I want to see them bloody and raw, laying out there in all their meaty glory. This was literally a few steaks, prepackaged and vacuum sealed laying in an open refrigerator. There was no butcher anywhere in sight while we were there. The counter girl was young and probably someone’s daughter. She was lovely and had an absolutely winning personality. It was nice to see that kind of work ethic in someone so young. However, this remains what I would categorize as a general store or sandwich shop, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with. The signage is just slightly misleading, and expectations based on that are not reality when you go inside.

We took the ferry just for fun and stumbled across this amazing Butcher shop. The wraps and sandwiches were delicious and the desserts were a lovely bonus. The combos are a must! We will definitely be back when visiting this area. What a great find!

We went in there wanting to try some new meats. The woman was super helpful to help us choose our meats and chili mix. Our ostrich and antelope chili was delicious! Some folks went back multiple times for more! Thank you so much! Support this veteran owned business! Worth the drive!

Stopped in to pick up something to grill since I was camping nearby (Chippokes Plantation). There was plenty of Meats and Seafood to choose from. Didn’t get to eat the prepared food, but what some of the other guests were eating looked good.

Wonderful and cute little shop!! Had passed by this place several times before but never had a chance to stop in until today. Authentic county ham, bacon 🥓, assorted peanuts 🥜 and many others items such as jellies, soups, candies, sauces and made to order deli sandwiches. I had the turkey club and it didn't disappoint. Also purchased two cans of peanuts, both of which we enjoyed so much we went back the next day to get more. Love this Surry County gem of a shop ❤❤

Stopped in to get some country ham and just check out the place. What a nice surprise! They have all kinds of meats available for sale and locally sourced goodies, including some delicious looking baked goods. There are several interesting Jerky options, including alligator and shark. If you need a unique gift for someone, check them out!

Stopped in to get a sandwich and it was the largest deli sandwich I have ever had. I had the ham and pimento it was delicious! Then I picked up some elk, antelope and boar meat to cook at home it's worth the drive.

Friendly staff and super fresh sandwiches. It's my preferred place to get lunch when I travel to Chippokes State Park for projects. The preserves and salsa they sell are delicious as well. Definitely recommend and looking forward to trying more items on their menu.
