We came here because of a mishap at the Hampton location to receive vaccines. I will say Victor was nice and communicated to the best of his ability. I like how the glass windows allow you to see the work being done. If my dog didn't suffer from car sickness I would come to this location more often

I normally don’t leave such harsh reviews, but I felt I really needed to impress upon other pet owners the uncomfortable experience my pet and I endured. I took my dog in for a grooming appointment, and this location was overbooked and understaffed. I offered to reschedule, but was told they would honor the appointment since I was already there. In the rush, my pet was slightly injured and both of us were left stressed. I use to bring my pet here regularly, and I felt so comfortable with how well the staff worked with the animals. I hope they return to that stander of service. But for now, I will take my pet elsewhere.

I came in at the busiest time of day today and the place was extremely understaffed. I watched as one coworker (possibly the manager) left the only other associate in the store at the cash register and disappeared. There were no other floor associates...I know I checked...And when the guy who I think may have been the manager returned to the floor; it seemed like helping me was more of a painful experience for them... I've never been rushed at a pet store before, but the tension made it clear they weren't happy at their job.Maybe hire folks who want to be here?The tall guy seemed more intrigued in helping me than the shorter fellow today.

I was looking at another big pet place just down the road but they didn't have the dog food selection this Petco has. This photo is a sample of what I couldn't find at both the other pet store and a local boutique pet shop. Friendly staff, it was a lively atmosphere with adoptions and shopper, so will definitely return! Oh! Bring your own bag, nice to see they're doing what Europe has been doing for years - being environmentally conscious in not just handing out plastic bags. We should be carting around our bags anyway.

Went to vaccine clinic was a disaster. Vet has a nasty disposition. Had an appt but because they gave us the wrong package had to wait and get the rest of the shots so 2 hour of waiting. Then didn't want to honor the 39% off coupon they had at the register. Very chaotic.

Bree is a disgustingly disrespectful lil girl and I have no patience for her mouth or attitudeI don't understand why management don't do something about her, she's a complete problem and have caused this location to lose good paying customers.bree need some serious home training just like the pups that u guys train in the store, she needs to be medicated seeing as how she's mentally imbalanced..Petco obviously does not care how their employees treat customers there are so many negative reviews about her traumatizing our fur babies maybe she needs the same treatment 🤔 put a muzzle on her since trash comes out her mouth...Why is she even employed still, should have been let go a long time ago.Juan was the best groomer petco has ever had and he treated or babies like his own.

I went in to get dog food this morning and it wasn’t busy but anyways at the counter I realized I grabbed the wrong bag and had to get the right one. And there was one other sweet patient lady behind but the experience I had with cashier Evelyn was highly unpleasant. From the rude tone to aggressively giving my change and rushing me out , even after I apologized for my mistake. Maybe she had a rough morning idk

Suffolk, VA area. Got salt and fresh water fish. All are healthy and beautiful. Very nice selection, so happy to see pre covid array of choices. Beautiful , clean tanks. Great prices. Awesome selection of frozen food. Will be back shortly!Mike was most helpful and extremely knowledgeable!

Rude and racist cashiers who gave smart remarks over a simple question then high five each other after they were rude. Made us turn around and not even want to shop. Almost felt profiled and gave racist vibes. It's Sunday 2 18 pm and I'm leaving the location 1011 University Blvd #100, Suffolk, VA 23435. Shop somewhere else where you don't experience such poor customer service.

Reginia really helped me discover diffrent types of dog food that would helped my dog and I as a new pet owner. I didn't know just food for dogs was made at the flagship stores. Regina really put in the time and effort to get to know me and my dog as well. Lastly Reginia was able to awenser my questions about the pocket pets ( a term we use at the shelter for small animals ) oreptiles

Do not get your dog groomed here! The one groomer Bri has become complacent and is dangerous and unprofessional. No water in the back or proper care for your dog while they are there for long unnecessary hours. The General Manager who had just been there for only two months left. She noted many complaints already about grooming since she had been there. I would really think twice about trusting leaving your dog there for grooming.

I can also say I am always had great experiences the Petco workers and clinical and grooming until a couple days ago. The young lady African-American black dress and blonde dreads was very rude. Argumentative told me I’m not her mother she can talk to me and say whatever she wants to say All over a grooming appointment and shot records. I told young lady she didn’t have a word about me. Coming back here again. She said excuse me what did you say? It again, she said you were mumbling your breath has said no, ma’am I wasn’t. I just didn’t wanna start a mess with you because obviously you’re feeling some type of way today and very rude. I had to ask the store manager that was on duty. At the time. The young lady comes out of the back with the groom, was and steel, kept running in her mouth, being argumentative, and. To her nor her I asked the manager on duty to pull up the camera and look at her actions. The way I look at it if she cannot talk to me or And correct what do you think she’s gonna do to my fur baby or anyone else’s for Baby if she doesn’t have patience with a customer or the public she Dawn is not gonna have patience with her animal she is in the wrong place of business with attitude like that so yes, I cancel my appointment for my other baby because of her attitude and being disrespectful Sincerely, Blondae Zeiber

Staff has always been very helpful. We go there for fish for our aquariums and have had great success with them. They're tanks are always clean with no dead fish floating around in them. Great selection, too!

If you have a large dog, don’t bother with this location’s grooming service. I showed up for an 8am Saturday appointment only to be turned away. It was obvious that the particular employee on duty either doesn’t know how to deal with large dogs or simply didn’t want to deal with one. Really, I shouldn’t have even brought my dog back here after our prior experience (also with this employee). She did a terrible job with his cut- for some reason she COMPLETELY shaved his genitals (which is very weird and has never been done with any other groomer) but then complained he was too skittish on the table so she couldn’t trim the sanitary area around his tail (if he’s so skittish how did you manage to weirdly shave his “undercarriage” down to the skin?!?) Overall, I’m super frustrated with the waste of time and now having to wait to get an appointment elsewhere, after scheduling this session a month in advance. Leaving 2 stars because our very first session at petco (with a different employee) was great.

Usually only go for peppermint shrimp as needed. The staff is always pleasant and there to help. One thing i wish they listed their sales more, there were two neon cleaner gobbies that were $10 off. Was expecting to pay $14.99 but was pleasantly suprised

Ima day two stars. It isn't anything exceptional over any other petco. The staff was super nice, but at the same time what is it anyone's business what I'm doing with the fish I buy. If I want to buy 1 or 100, that's my problem just sell me the dang fish. The cost of items at petco in general is relatively high but then again, they do have a decent selection for when you need something right now.
