Went through the store and collected my items, when I got to the register nobody was there. Waited 5 minutes before a cashier came inside while still on the phone. The cashier did not say a single word to me. Not a total of my items. Nothing. I even said thank you after the transaction and she just kept looking down at her phone and didn’t say a word to me. People like her make businesses lose customers.

This location is never open their posted hours. Just one example but went at 9:15 tonight and the doors were already locked despite closing time being 10:00. Need to update posted hours to match actual store hours.

Location is NEVER open. They always have a sign on the door CLOSED for various reasons but yet always see employees walking around inside. This has been going on for the past 2.5 years. How is management allowed to operate like this? This picture was at 7pm they advertise open until 9pm. Completely ridiculous and they need new management, reliable employees and oversight from corporate.

Love this store. It is closer to us and a very convenient place to go for a quick shopping. Prices are reasonable and it has almost everyday stuff we need. Staff members are really friendly. Downside is, it is next to a railroad and train passes by quite often interrupting traffic flow. This DG is on Wilroy road. Not far from HWY 58.

Generally a decent experience, but they're always closed early. It's very frustrating to try to come by and they've closed 2 hours early, or even more. If they want to change hours, do it, but don't be inconsistent.When they have shipments in, there are massive pallets in the way of so much of the merchandise. It's difficult to maneuver the store. I wish they had a better way to go about this.

On Friday, Febrary 18, 2022, I drove up to the Dollar General located at 1226 Wilroy Rd, in Suffolk, Va. Despite the early hour (8pm), and a number of employees present, I was told through the glass that they were closed. There was no sign, and on Google maps, it said they were open.Cars kept coming in, and yet, there was no attempt to address the needs of (potential) customers.Thinking that it must be some kind of anomaly, I headed up there after work today (Sunday, 2-20-2022, 4:40pm), and once again, employees visible, this time a packed parking lot, and everyone was refused service, with deliberate indifference.I'm not sure who is making the decision to randomly close the store, but it's NOT because there aren't people trying to shop there.I like this store, it's generally clean, and when I have been able to enter and purchase things, I have found the people who work there to be fairly pleasant, and helpful.So at what level is the choice to shut the doors being made at?Is it the owners? Mid level management? There are items they carry that aren't at other "dollar" stores. I ended up down the street at a Family Dollar that looked as if it were somewhere in New Orleans a few days into the Hurricane Katrina riots.What has to be done to address the random, unscheduled closings? You can see employees inside, so it cannot be written off to problems with attendance. The parking lot is constantly filled with confused would be customers.Can anyone provide any answers to these questions?I noticed the reviews were slam full of people who have had the same problem with this location, so it's not just me (being closed twice in 2-3 days is inexcusable, by the way).Next step is going to be an email to corporate, that I can promise.

The location is convenient, they are always pretty well stocked and the staff has always been absolutely wonderful.The decrease in stars is because checking out is often slow (I blame their system, not the casheirs) and this particular location has had several issues requiring police presence in the evenings over the last few years and the franchise hasn't done much to help the cashiers feel

This place is easy to maneuver through and they are always stocked. The staff is helpful and friendly. The place has a variety of generous options and the prices are reasonable of course. It is fairly new as well so the building has no real signs of wear and tear.

Give it two stars for some of the works because they are amazing but they are ALWAYS closed when they are not supposed to be. Here it is a Saturday afternoon and they are closed. No signs, nothing. I try to come around 6 some evenings and they are closed. It’s frustrating.

Manager was very rude! Just because I scored items for a penny she said not once but 3 times in my presence "This won't happen again!" then talked about how she will take care of her Tuesday night employee's!VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I don't believe it was proper for her to speak that way in the presence of customers. I know if I worked under her I wouldn't stay long! You should treat you employees with respect and not talk about their mistakes behind their back or especially in front of customers! They have a lot of various merchandise, but, I wasn't very impressed, sadly. The store seemed very unorganized, disheveled and generally not very clean. The staff never greeted me nor asked if I needed any help even though there were quite a few working and two walked right past me and never thought to ask me if I needed help, even though it was apparent I did. I gave them three stars because maybe I just caught them at a time when they were changing shifts.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My husband went in the store to grab a gas can, he paid and was leaving as he passed the other cashier as she was heading outside for a smoke break he glanced up at her just in passing and she yells don't look at my mother f***er. I truly hope you get fired for your ignorance. WE WONT BE BACK.

I Purchased milk without first reading the expiration date. Hard lesson learned. My grandson chose a low-fat milk with Mr. Incredible 2 Printed on the front. The milk was rotten. It was my mistake that I didn’t read the expiration date before I bought it but it expired last year. I tried to call the store to inform them of the mishap but to no Avail neither the store it’s self would answer a phone call from me so that I can inform them that they should pull the expired milk off the shelf the call also put into the corporate office was not answered as well so please don’t purchase your milk there. This dollar general used to be great , but now it's a mess and some of shelves are empty . But they do have a self checkout now , probably cause they can't keep a staff . And there is empty packages of merchandise on every shelf almost
