I’m from Stuart’s Draft but I live in NC now. But when I come up to the area (usually for hiking) The Cheese Shop is at the top of my list.They have a lot of local products that showcase the wonderful regional cultural influences. And the Cheese Shop do it very well.Buckeyes, puppy chow, pickled sausage, muesli, a plethora of jam, jelly, and butter - deli cuts and so much more. I always load up when I come.I think they may have improved with age too!

Great sandwiches, bakery items and cheeses. We tried the "Hen" sandwich which is chicken salad which was wonderful. Definitely will be back.

This is an odd one to review. There are two parts to the Cheese Shop. The front is more or less like a small grocery store and at the back is the sandwich shop. The store itself seems to be a bit of a local icon. It has a large variety of grocery items and of course a lot of cheeses. It is a clean store with lots of options and very neat and organized.At the back of the store is the small sandwich shop. The sandwiches are simple sandwiches using the ingredients available in the deli. Nothing fancy. Just something simple and good when you want a sandwich.

They have expanded and now even better. My family has been going to the Cheese Shop for many years. Not only is it a great place to shop for multiple items but has also become a family tradition.

My happy place. The Cheese Shop has a great assortment of candies and other specialties but their cheeses are excellent and my reason for going back. I've had several different, (Havarti, Baby Swiss, Cheese curds, Blueberry Cheddar, way too many to mention them all) and each has been high quality cheese with great flavor.Highly recommended for all cheese lovers in Central Virginia.

The cheese shop is awesome. It's a mix between a deli, grocery, and country store. You can get hot and cold sandwiches, meats and cheeses sliced to order, or browse the shelves for an absolutely amazing assortment of jams, snack mixes, candy, baked goods, cheeses, soup starters, rice, and my my what a place. You can also find handcrafted kitchen ware. Things not to miss would definitely be the blueberry cheddar, the stuffed pepper soup mix, or a coconut fried pie! Worth a visit, check them out.Cheers!

Anytime I go to Stuarts Draft, the car automatically stops here. ✋️ Love the cheese selection, the different 🍬 candy, and the gluten-free section. It would be easy to spend all my grocery budget in this little but well stocked store!!! Thank you all employees and the owners!!

After going to the 2 shop for the 1st time I found it fascinating to see how many different things were there and that it was even better in person than the advertisement on TV and if you go in there and do not find something you are satisfied with you are definitely in the wrong place. There was much more affordable prices than I suspected and very good customer service and the presentation of the store and the environment was very impressive and I had a suggest you go and shop at this location and take a look at everything I have to choose from.

The cheese shop is a hidden gem. For both those with and without dietary restrictions, the cheese shop is both a literal & figurative candy store. The bulk foods section is one of the best I’ve ever seen, and they do an amazing job of both sourcing local goods and bringing in items from across the country to serve different dietary needs — for example gluten free! Their sandwich shop in the back is delicious & includes gluten free options as well. One of my favorite stores.

The Cheese Shop is a local icon! Even if you don't need cheese, stopping here is an absolute must if you are in the area. This is the place for hard to find spices, bulk baking and canning supplies, incredible homemade bread and wayyyy more. During my last visit Pam in the deli recommended a different brand of sweet bologna and paired it with Havarti. One week later I am planning to go back for more, because the sweet bologna/Havarti/combo on homemade bread was literally the best sandwich I have had in years, maybe ever. Excellent customer service and extremely knowledgeable people. There's too much to explain here...just GO!

We love coming here every week. Unfortunately there is one woman in the deli/cheese slicing area that is not nice. I always try to ask her “how are you” or a polite “hello” and she walks away. Today I went to the deli for some cheese and she seemed aggravated to help me and someone kind had to step up for her. She has short hair, maybe 60 and is the most unfriendly person I’ve encountered. She looks me up and down every time I come in. I love the cheese shop. I don’t know why they would keep someone that is continuously mean. I can’t be the only one that has been uncomfortable. didn’t know her name and don’t care to know but she is making other people want to leave her alone and shop somewhere else.

I love coming here! They have so many neat treats, but also great deals on essentials (spices, flour, nuts, etc). A really unique place. I feel like I find something new I want every visit. Recent discoveries-they make great cheese balls and amazing cinnamon rolls!

I love the cheese shop! They have so many specialty items you can't find anywhere in this area. Their coconut date rolls are a great snack and Whole30 compliant. We also love the "homemade" Spaghetti sauce along with their pasta.This is the place to get your spices - great selection and prices!!Thanks for always keeping the store neat and clean! Such a delightful shopping experience.A big shout out to the young friendly lady who went out of her way to fetch me empty boxes from the back! I ask for empty boxes frequently in stores and I only ever get an annoyed look along with a "No", but not here. THANK YOU!!

Fun place to find yummy foods. Plenty of jams, preserves, dried goods, candies, etc. The sandwich shop was great as well. Very kind service and excellent ingredients. We had a really great time looking around and found some great finds. There is plenty of parking on site and there’s even a lot for buses and larger vehicles.

already has a 4.8 so you don't really need my review but we recently moved here and we're used to being able to have lots of choices and this is definitely a plus for this area especially rural as this area is. I can't tell you all the goodies that are in this store besides cheese.l there are sandwiches, soups when you can get them.jellies, jams and some different things I had never tried before... List goes on. Plus you can find some crafts. Definitely will be back and if I were a tourist I would definitely be glad I made the stop. The staff is friendly and helpful as well!

Addendum, Sept 2019: They've remodeled the place. Larger parking lot. New entrance, now over on the corner of the building where the glass wall is. More selections available. A deli with tables and chairs now available. Still have their cheese counter and the most delicious cheeses. Still have all the amazing products as before, just more space and more stock available. Prices are still the best you can find. Staff is still the most polite you can find. There is an attached doughnut shop, using the old entrance. I'll give a review once I've tried them.2016 review: Great prices. Excellent variety of flours, mixes, beans, crackers, chips, jams, and cheeses. Loved the smoked gouda. Loved the quick oatmeal. Small building and easy to walk around. Clean restrooms. Polite staff.

Found this HIDDEN GEM by pure accident after my mother decided she wanted Dairy Queen for lunch🤗🤗We were headed to Tennessee and sooooo glad we made the U Turn.It reminded us of our Amish markets near home in Maryland bit it was a STEP ABOVE all of them.They have such a selection of items that you want to buy a little bit of everything which we ended up doing. We have Martin's rolls at home but we found the Martin's Cinnamon Raisin Butter Bread. This is AMAZING. So AMAZING we stopped back on out way home and bought the last 6 loaves!!!The deli meats are very good and the Carolina Reaper cheese was a huge hit with my son and son in law.Staff is VERY HELPFUL and provide EXCELLENT customer service.Its an easy off/back on I81.

We went on a Saturday and I recommend that as in addition to the regular shopping, the best kettle corn and most phenomenal fresh yeast donuts are offered from stands out front.Cheese was plentiful and at a good price. Sundries were varied and enjoyed picking up items not available at a regular grocery. Jams/Preserves were mostly on the high side, though a huge selection is offered.We did get sandwiches and we were very disappointed-quite meager and very expensive for what you get --so skip the sandwich shop and enjoy the rest.

1st time there. Found a few things I would love to try. Maple walnut fudge. It was delicious. Almond butter, no salt made fresh. It was delicious 😋. What I liked about this place was the portions. I don't like to buy big in case I didn't like it so smaller portions are nice.
