I have been bringing my dogs and cats to Just Like Home for 14 years now and have never been disappointed or unsatisfied with the care they receive. They go above and beyond to treat your pet as one of their own and make them feel at home. I brought my 3 cats once to stay in a bedroom and pulled in with a car full of cat beds, scratchers, 3 crates, food etc and they didn't even blink. I can't imagine taking my pets anywhere else!

I have never boarded my dogs before and was a little nervous since I had a beagle, a mini-doxie, who has residual neurological weakness in his hind legs from previously being paralyzed when he was younger, and a five-month old, HUGE shepherd-mix puppy (a/k/a horse lol!). Not only were they well taken care of while I was gone, but also whenever I requested an update on how the dogs were doing I received a very timely response along with pictures to ease my mind. I also loved that the dogs were able to stay together in a doggy bedroom in the house so it really was just like home. The huge fenced-in yard was perfect for them to run in. I really appreciate Just Like Home Kennels taking such good care of my dogs and especially putting up with Sadie (the puppy/horse), who is a huge bundle of energy! - The Kremer Family

My dog Miloh has separation anxiety but absolutely loves Just like Home kennels, he never wants to leave when we pick him up. Charlie and his staff are always accommodating. We love that the dogs are able to have time to run around outside in real grass, a previous kennel we found kept the animals on a concrete run. The pandemic has stopped us from traveling but we know when we start again that Just Like Home is the only place we will leave our dogs.

We have used "Just Like Home" twice in the past few months and we cannot express how happy we are. We used to board our dog Stella at another facility, but witnessed her lethargic and depressed after one of her stays. She was very dehydrated and I noticed they did not give her any of her toys or treats we brought for her.We decided to look for a new place and luckily stumbled upon "Just Like Home." Although hesitant to board her kennel initially (I imagine from her previous boarding experiences), she was as happy as could be when we picked her up a few days later. She was loving to the staff, excitedly running around the fenced-in yard, and was not lethargic or unhappy.We trust "Just Like Home" completely with our sweet girl and know that she is in safe hands whenever we have to leave town.

We board our two cats here when we take family vacations. Their cattery is roomy and we'll maintained. The staff keeps the place very clean and they spend time with the cats. They will also dose our diabetic cat at no extra charge.

We stated using Just Like Home Kennels over 15 years ago shortly after we moved to the area. Our Vet recommended them as he also used them. Charlie , Kim, Alex and staff are caring people and love and know all the animals they care for. We have always had large breed dogs and they love the freedom they have to run there. They also have a great cat house for boarding our sweet Annie. I highly recommend them.

My family loves Just Like Home Kennels! We have been going to them for 25 years! My parents started taking their first baby (border collie mix) to Just Like Home. After that it was the only kennel we’ve gone to. They take great care of our babies and we trusted Charlie with our previous dogs that had medical needs. A couple years ago our hound mix had salivary gland cancer and we felt comfortable dropping him off for the weekend because we knew that Charlie would be able to keep him comfortable. That’s one of the many ways that Just Like Home will treat your dogs like one of their own. Now I have my own border collie puppy and she has gone a couple times and is loving it more each time she goes. I recommend Just Like Home to anyone that is looking for a kennel.

We have used Just Like Home Kennels for years, 4+. We own a very busy bully rescue, but also travel. Just like home has always been our go to boarding for our dogs when we travel. We have also had to hold rescue dogs there as they awaited adoption. The staff is very professional but fun. We travel with our Yorkie a lot but when we needed to find a place for her during a long trip, Just Like home kennels was recommended. They welcomed us just like family, asked questioned and made sure everything was set for the stay. They add pictures on their Facebook so you can see your loved animals while away. I would recommend Just Like Home Kennels to everyone in the area looking for a stay for their pet.

I found Just like homes kennel after Cavalier kennel in Front Royal was booked, a place I had gone to for a few years. Cavalier specifically told me not to bring my two dogs to Just like homes because they were not good; I now know why they said that, because they're FANTASTIC and I've only gone to JLH ever since. They knew they were a serious competition for them and rightfully so. That was 3 years ago. They treat your dogs like their own. They know my dogs name and knows what he likes. Charlie treats us like we've been going there for 20 years. I would recommend JLH to anyone who wants their animals taken care of as if they were there. Great place! Great people!

We absolutely love Just Like Home kennels. Our rescue dog was afraid of being left alone. They walk the dogs multiple times a day and play with them. And we even got to see pictures of her while she was there. We absolutely love it here and won't take our dog anywhere else!!

I had a need for last minute booking for my dog, who is an Akita when Just Like Home kennels (aka NOT Like Home) could not accommodate me because the owner’s son has an obvious fear of large dogs. I initially booked a stay with Just Like Home, dropped off my dog and a couple of hours later got a call from my neighbor (emergency contact) to come pick up my dog because the kennel owner’s son could not get my dog to go into the kennel (claims my dog growled, snapped at him and would not go in); no one ever contacted me directly nor told me the same lie that was told to my neighbor. I know my dog and his temperament and he has been kenneled many times before and never had any issues. Long story short, Cavalier Kennels was able to accommodate on short notice after that fiasco and my dog had a wonderful stay and experience with them, never had any issues with any human or dogs; I was told he is a very sweet dog, very obedient and a joy to have him around; WOW, what a difference the Kennel and staff makes in a dogs behavior??? If you are looking to board a LARGE dog, please do not waste your time or money on Just Like Home and find a better place! I highly recommend Cavalier Kennels for their excellent service and care of my dog on his weekend stay! I will book with them again in the future!! Will never book with Just Like Home again!!Vicki

Just like Home Kennels was a God send when we first moved to Winchester, VA 19 years ago. Our girls were very young and we were making several trips to Charlotte NC at the time. We boarded both our German Shepherd mix and Keeshond. Charlie is so involved with the animals and they felt right at home. I was a little nervous and we didn't have Facebook back then so I called to see how they were doing and he said just wonderful. We picked them up and only used them from then on. Not only do they take great care of your animals they remember you. A few months after our first visit we received a phone call from Charlie telling us our youngest daughter was in the Northern VA daily newspaper front page. I could not believe they not only knew our dogs but our kids!! After our shepherd mix died we decided to try and board the keeshond alone. Well I was nervous he was always use to his buddy, sure enough he did great and this time Charlie was kind enough to call me and let me know how well he was doing. Our daughter and her husband now use them for their border collie and they have the same experience! Nice, understanding, and anything you ask them to do specific to your dog, if they can make it happen they do. Their dog is scared of vacuum cleaners and so when they clean the kennels they put him outside so he doesn't get scared. Personal service, and a caring attitude go a long way. We appreciate you guys!! And will not only continue to use your facility but also recommend to anyone looking for caring, professional service that goes above and beyond.

I never worry when leaving our pets with Charlie, Kim or Alex, from our senior dog to two quirky cats and even a guinea pig! I know this amazing family will love them and keep them safe and comfortable. In our 15 years living in the area, I’ve tried all the others and have never once considered going back to any of them. Just like home is a great place to take your dogs. My husband and I have been taking our Goldens for years. Up until last year we would board two at a time and they have always been very professional and great with our dogs. They have always treated our dogs great and will even post pictures on Facebook when you are away.

I also have a “Large breed” dog, a Rottweiler. He has stayed at Just Like Home on multiple occasions. He is always very happy to be there and is cared for as if he was the kennel’s own dog. I enjoy seeing pictures of him playing outside in the enclosed yard. If you are looking for a facility that is comfortable with large dogs, give Just Like Home a try.

Our puggles have gotten the best care at Just Like Home Kennels. They have even sat on the owners laps as they were booking other appointments because our dogs were young on their first visit. I have a large dog who has separation anxiety and a fear of men ( adopted him at 10 weeks from a shelter so no idea where his fear comes from), however we love “just like home kennels”!! Zuko starts squealing when we get close and gets out ready to check it out! They are professional, provide updates and pictures and I feel very comfortable with my boy staying with them!!

Fit my dogs in last minute. The owner was very friendly and allowed the dogs run time in the yard to adjust. He wore a mask while outdoors speaking with us, which I appreciate! Our dogs are young and this was their first time away from us. One is very timid and nervous of people but from the sounds of it he did great with her. He told us about watching them on the camera. The dogs did not seem to have had too bad of a time upon pick up lol. My parents have used them for years and we will too!

We have boarded our Shih Tzu with Just Like Home on several occasions. The owners are wonderful . They really show their love of animals. They were even more than willing to give us a tour before we decided to board with them. They were recommended to me and I have recommended them to several people who all love them. We boarded our 3 large dogs at Just Like Home for 4 months, while our home was on the market/sold. It is just like home. Our dogs loved being there. We visited often and they never minded when we left without them because they were enjoying their time there. Even during the hot summer months, the dogs were indoors and cool during the day. By far a wonderful choice for short or long term boarding.

Excellent kennel for your pet. When we travel, and this year it has been a lot, we leave our cat there. It has become his second home. They take very good care of him and the cat liked it. I have seem how well taken care are all the pets staying there.

I would not board my dog anywhere else, she cries to get out of the car as soon as we turn onto the road where the kennel is. She just loves her time with Charlie and the staff. She doesn’t even care when we leave, and she’ sad when we take her home, she just left it there so much. In our home, we cannot even say the name Charlie, because she think she will be seeing him.
