I thought being a Hilton hotel I wouldn’t need to read reviews about a Hampton Inn. We are also Hilton Honors members and have stayed a numerous Hampton Inns. I was wrong this time. I understand that the property is undergoing renovations; however, that should not be an excuse for nasty rooms. I’m not talking about the cleaning done by the housekeepers. The carpet was literally covered in stains. I wiped it with one of the towels in the room and the white towel turned black. That’s dirt. The chair and ottoman were covered in nasty stains. Renovation or no renovation, there’s no excuse for filth. There was no grass outside; only dirt and overgrown weeds. If we had not been driving 9 hours and it was late, we would have left. The lady who checked us in was very nice. I believe her name was Maxine.

I typically don't leave bad reviews, however this location was very disappointing and I would not recommend or stay here again. In summary, it was not clean at all and not safe.I am not opposed to outdated hotels as long as they are still clean. The sheets were visually unclean and had dirt and unknown substances on them. The towels were stained and not clean. It has a very heavy smoke smell. The shower curtain had dark stains all over it. The walls were very dirty. The bed wasn't made. The curtains didn't shut all the way and I was on the ground floor which was concerning. The front desk was not helpful. To make matters worse I ended up with bites of some sort.I am a Hilton honors member and travel a lot. Typically they are consistently good, but I strongly advise that you stay elsewhere if you can.**Update a few weeks later: I had to be treated for scabies after staying here and I am confident this is where I picked them up. The timeline matches and not anywhere else I would have gotten them from. **

These rooms are disgusting. As others have said, we didn’t even use the shower because it was just so gross. Stopped by on the way through for a quick overnight because we were tired. The room had visible urine stains and the smell just takes over everything you bring in the room. When I tried to address it at the front desk I was met with rude comments. Save yourself the stink and frustration and stay next door. I paid close to $300 for this and I’m a Hilton Honors member. A lot of good it did me here.

Ever stay in a hotel room where you’d rather NOT shower before continuing on with your journey. Absolutely filthy rooms. Hair on the pillow, bathroom, bathtub. Bedside charger sticky with filth. Walls dirty. Bathrooms with soap scum and dirty toilets. Towel edges were yellow. They were out of tissues and apparently cleaning products. We choose the Hampton because we like a hot breakfast but if the rooms are this disgusting then I shudder at the thought of what their food prep area is like.

Front desk receptionist was very nice but once you get past the clean lobby and into a room you will find so many things wrong. Glad it is just for the night so my children can stretch after a long drive during our road trip home but can’t wait to get out of here. Be sure to bring slippers or sandals to avoid touching the carpet. So nasty and stained. They take zero pride in maintaining this business. Seems like you’ll be better off staying down the street at Fairfield for a few extra bucks if you want a room that is better maintained.Rooms: Outdated, dingy and overall below standard. Carpet was disgusting, mold in bathroom, faucet and shower in general was not connected correctly and so stained and gross looking. Curtains don’t close in the rooms and are sheer so zero privacy. Uncomfortable all around.

How this place could be ranked 4 Stars is beyond me. After reading the reviews after check-in and the managements comments, they obliviously don't care or have any intentions of remedying the problems. From the start at check-in and then at checkout the staff have an uninterested working attitude. Sitting on their phones when they know people are there. 🤦🏼‍♀️After a long trip and getting ready for bed we pulled back the sheets and they were stained with blood in multiple places and maybe even fecal stains. The sheets were barely pulled over the old mattress and actually didn't even look laundered. I wanted to move rooms but we were so tired. The toilet seat was disgusting and peeling and the bowl was stained and just not cleaned. There were stains on the wall that looked like roach poop drips. The shower too was so grody that we didn't even bother using it and let's not forget about the poor reception service for the cable TV. It was so bad we just turned it off. Honestly, the young woman at the desk when we were leaving didn't want to hear a thing or Even give respect to listen to what a Hilton GOLD member once Diamond had to say or the decency to look at me or express an apology. Simply astonishing. She just got defensive when I asked her if she was even listening to me. 🤦🏼‍♀️Overall, this hotel is Not even close to Hilton/Hampton properties standards and for $160.00 that is the slap in the face. I wish I had gotten a refund and gone next door. I will be reporting this hotel to Corporate. Hands down the WORST Hilton property we've stayed in worldwide!

This is a pass thru location set off of I-95. I am a Gold member with Hilton and am very familiar with their standards concerning Hampton Inn properties and this location is very below standard. The location itself is older and somewhat run down. I was shocked to see its condition quite honestly. The grass isn’t even cut evenly which is a bit embarrassing for a Hilton brand. That’s the least of the concerns though. The back entrance has no walkway from the parking lot to the door so a path made by guests walking on the grass and dirt is forming instead. One good rain and someone slipping is definitely a liability there. The hotel entrance at the back of the property has a smokers smell when you walk in and the back door only works when turning the handle upward- I originally thought the door was broken until another guest showed me when they saw me struggling. We had the back corner room so we could smell the smokers outside as well. Everything is older inside the hotel from the carpeting to furniture, with some pieces even coming off (see photos). The bathroom smelled a bit off as well and the shower looked like it needed a better cleaning. The worst part though was the customer service. I had indicated on the Hilton app that I would be arriving approx 1:45-2:15 and would like to check in early (before 3pm). I work remotely and needed to be online before 3pm. Upon arrival the front desk attendant told my son we will have to wait until 3pm. I then went in and was told the same and that there was nothing that could be done. Mind you, the whole lot was empty, with only a few cars there I assume were that of staff. So it’s 2:15pm, 45 min before opening, and no rooms are cleaned in the entire hotel?? The math didn’t add up. I pushed again and let them know this is not about my comfort but about necessity for work and that i did not have this problem on all of my other stays when asking to check in a little earlier. I asked about cancelling and was told I would be billed the full fee if I cancelled. I then asked for anything, even a mobility room on the first floor, and the attendant finally got up from her chair by the back wall (yes she was sitting there, phone in hand the whole time) and decided to help book us in at the front desk. Why couldn’t that just be done from the beginning? About 11pm-ish the wifi stopped working and i had to tether to my phone to finish my shift. That was the last straw since I couldn’t have that happen the next morning for work I decided it was better to check out and drive the last leg of my journey exhausted. We gathered our items and went to check out by midnight and they refused to check us out. We were old that the manager isn’t in until Tuesday and that the audit reports send out at 3am so they can’t give us any kind of receipt that we are leaving at midnight or send us any email to confirm we left the property or even a hand written note on letter head and also said they had no business cards to offer so we can revisit this issue when someone was available. It was an entirely insane to say the least. I called Hilton’s main customer service line for help as soon as I left in order to check out with them officially and let them know of this entire experience. They were shocked and apologized and confirmed the property never checked me out and gladly did that for me over the phone. I know for a fact this is not the normal experience for a Hilton owned property, or even a Hampton Inn since I have stayed with dozens, but in fact an exception to the norm. Hopefully they can clean up their act and deliver at better standards in the future.

The staff were nice but this place needs some serious updates. My room was fairly dirty from stains, the furniture is very worn, and the shower was in bad shape and had bad pressure because the bottom faucet won’t fully turn off. From other reviews it seems like it isn’t just my room that has issues. I would recommend another place until they implement some updates.

The reception was adequate but that is where it stopped. The room was not up to date or clean. All the furniture was beat up, the rug stained, the fridge had half drank drinks inside, the bathroom hard water stains were so thick it was hard to tell what was dirty. I should have left immediately and moved on but we were exhausted. In the morning, the coffee was undrinkable and I watched the staff pour from an auto drip pot into the carafes from the dirtiest pot I’ve ever seen. Our room had one hand towel, two bath towels and two washcloths - we made due but everything in this place screamed they were cutting corners. We looked at the breakfast area, it was only 1/4 food full and that was 6:45 with only two people eating. This was NOT the expected experience, we are Hilton Diamond members and this was not up to the Hilton brand we love.

Where to begin. We were traveling late night on our way to Myrtle Beach. Checked in late, went to sleep, awakened for breakfast.Went for breakfast and two employees were talking loud and cursing in the back room where the food was prepped. Patrons were speaking about the foul language because kids were present. Ate some breakfast returned to room to get ready for some more driving. Went to take a shower but bathroom was dirty...uncleaned since last patron. Still dirty water with a bar of soap, in the tub. We immediately tried to use the room's phone but it did not work. Used cell to call front office, spoke to manager and asked for her or staff to come up and view the untidiness of the room and the sitting water. She immediately shared she would not do that but can come up after we check out, very dismissive of our ask. We asked for her name and she sharply responded that she will NOT give her name and we can call the GM on Monday for her name. Huh?We immediately grabbed our items, I attempted to check out on my app but needed to stop at the desk for receipt. We came downstairs and asked to be checked out of our room. The manager is one of the ladies who were cursing during breakfast. 😔 My husband asked how will this situation be addressed and she became defensive. Moving her neck and speaking sharply about what she's not going to do! She then said, I'm calling the police. She did. We spoke to the sheriff's. They apologized. We will be calling the GM on Monday. All we asked for how it will be handled and for her name. I've only come across a few people who are negatively dismissive when interacting with them professionally. It is sad that the Manager on duty didn't understand customer service, resolving issues, addressing concerns and communicating with paid customers. This was horrible!!!

I felt they deserved 1 star since they let me borrow a vacuum cleaner to clean my room. Yes, I had to vacuum my own room. There was food all over the floor. I couldn't spend two days walking in fried chicken crumbs from one end to the other, all over the room. I've always liked Hampton Inn, but after this being 2nd bad experience in 2 months, I'm done with them. I will pick another hotel chain to try. Maybe Holiday Inn or Best Western.

I was surprised at the condition of this hotel..not in a good way. Our room was gross, beds barely made, stains in the carpet and on the boxspings. The bathroom sink hadn't been touched. I cleaned it myself. The girl at the front desk was OK. Didn't go out of her way. The hotel was old and needed upgrading but the Christmas decorations were nice.

We checked In on February 16 the desk clerk that was checking us in was on her cellphone at the same time we went to our room the tv didn't have a signal so we went back to the front desk she was still on her phone saiding we would have to leave the room so we did . The room was not up to our standard we could not move because my wife got the room thru a 3rd party agency so we had to stay in that room then we find out that the toilet was loose and to top it off the bathroom light went off and they still wouldn't move us to another room every time I went to the front desk the girl at the front desk name Tia attitude got worse but she was still on her cellphone so we had to call the Hilton hotel hot line we are still waiting on a call back....the room was dirty and the front desk worker Tia attitude was terrible and as we was checking out on February 19 I ask a different lady at the desk was she the manager she said no with a attitude I would never stay at the hotel again to add Tia told me the hotel did not have an ironing board! ..the owner will post as if she is concern but if you check the hotel have been like this for a long time if you check all the reviews I call the number that she put on the review that I posted and she is never in and she will never call you back . All the reviews are true if you need to stay in that area there is a sleep inn and a Fairfield by Marriott next doorRooms: Not very cleanNoteworthy details: IWeekend Manger was very rude

A hotel off of I95, to rest at wether you are traveling or visiting the area. You also get breakfast in the morning with various selection of items. There is also a outdoor pool and fitness center on site, however we were traveling in December so we were not going to be swimming any time soon. The rooms can do with some updating.Overall we got a good night's sleep and checked out the next day.

This hotel is a disgrace and managed by incompetence. There’s a giant roof leak in room 306 and the front desk accused our team of ‘wetting the bed’ despite abundant reoccurring evidence in the ceiling of roof leaks. They said they would charge us for a new mattress despite multiple occasions of rain and continued roof leaks. My team was sleeping on the floor multiple nights. Since they are defiant of an obvious issue, we have to report to corporate Hampton, BBB, Sussex County department of health. And consult with an attorney as well.

This particular experience has rated the point that I will be reaching out to Hilton directly to further my concerns. On to the review: Seriously do not stay here. I should’ve probably took more time in reading the reviews before I booked my stay. I usually stay at Hilton hotels. The cleaning staff friendly the groundskeeper friendly the front desk person(s) not so much! rude is putting it mildly.. Greeting people with a smile a friendly hello or how can I help you? This was not the case occasions with the front desk (persons) A couple of heavyset woman probably about 5’4 in height, With what do you want attitude. Apparently I was disrupting her from the very first time I checked in. I arrived approximately 45 minutes before 3 o’clock which I believe is the normal check-in for this hotel. There were no cars there when I arrived I asked if it was possible to get my room, she said check-in was 3 PM. Obviously, she was very firm saying the rooms weren’t ready. I went back to my car, till three came back in, I returned at 3 she was with another lady. The other lady. The beds were rumpled not quite made up one would expect from Hilton hotel. You could see the dust behind the TV and on the shelves of the dressers. The phones aren’t working in my room and a lightbulb was missing from the nightstand stand entry area. Considering I waited an additional 45 minutes because the room wasn’t ready I had an expectation that the beds would’ve been made nicely. The pillows were on the bedspreads were crumpled like somebody had sat on them. For me, not enough to go back out and say my room is not ready but enough for me to raise an eyebrow on the type of service that was ahead of me. Ex 2. On day four of my stay I went to the front to ask for room housekeeping. I said hello when I came to the desk and again she looked like I was bothering her. No hello, no how are you. I asked if I could get my room clean and she said probably not because I should’ve asked the night before. I said well the other day I bumped into the housekeeper and asked her to clean and she said she was going to get to my room. (Which she did) She said oh well, you bumped into her. She further stated that they had been busy and probably wouldn’t have time to get to my room. I also let her know at that point that there was a lightbulb out and the phone wasn’t working. She didn’t say anything I walked away. Ex.3. When returning to the room it was not cleaned. Please see attached picture of the “Hilton” promise. Now that you have seen this please note there is nothing stated about calling the night before. Actually quite the opposite. According to the “Hilton” promise I should’ve just been able to call and they would’ve been happy to help. Ex. 4 after returning to my room and not having it serviced I asked My Son to go to the front desk and just pick up a couple of extra towels. Clearly simple request two towels not a big deal. Right?! Nope he was actually asked “Why do you need them?” My Son then had to explain that the room had not been serviced and we needed fresh towels. Why?! I need to say that again why?! Ex 5. Upon checking out I asked for a copy of my bill. She told me right after the batch she couldnt do it because I had booked through Expedia. I stated since I put a card down for exponentials, I would expect that I could get a copy of the final bill. Clearly not the case. I asked for a copy anyway because I did want to attach to my review the check in time and check out time and have it for my letter to Hilton. In hopes that they can distinguish who is working at notable times. Obviously, this leaves entire experience has left me quite irritated. This level of service or lack of service is unacceptable. Dear reader, there other hotels in the area Fairfield Inn is right next-door. If I stay in this area again, I will definitely not be staying here. And pick some other random three star hotel because there’s not much other choices in the area.It saddens me that this is a representation of Hilton Hotel.

Friendly reception and quick check-in. In general, the hotel is a bit dated in appearance and in need of repair and updating. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. But, the microwave didn't work, and the walls are so thin that conversations and bathroom use above use could be heard. The complimentary breakfast was ok. We were disappointed, however, that the coffee and "hot" water were luke warm. But, there is a Starbucks nearby that saved the day 😊

Maxine @ check-in was fabulous! Our room was not the best. It was “mostly” clean. There was ice-cream spots on the curtains, coffee cup spots on the desk, the AC unit kept blowing hot then cold air, and they had the tiniest two pillows we’ve ever seen in any hotel. On the bright side it was a very nice large room, both the bed & bathroom were clean(very important to us), it had a nice large mini fridge that actually had a little freezer in it for my icepack! The other pro was the manager the next morning was so pleasant, understanding & helpful.
