This Petco is a large store with a good selection of items. The sales people were helpful but not pushy. When I was at this Petco, I was having trouble finding two different things, and the sales person walked me right to where both things were, even picking up the bag I needed and handing it to me when I had too many things in my arms to kneel down to get it. Although this store is not real close to my house, I will still visit here again!

We have many different pets in our home and can always count on Petco for our needs. Petco is the only pet store selling the dog food we feed and their Vital Care program helps to offset some of the cost. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

I recently scheduled a grooming appointment for my dog, hoping for a smooth and pleasant experience. However, I encountered some difficulties that I believe are worth sharing.Initially, the grooming salon called to inform me that they were unable to proceed with the grooming due to knots in my dog's fur. They proceeded to shave half of her body, but it became apparent that the process would take longer than anticipated, potentially due to their impending closure. Despite their attempts to expedite the appointment, the previous day I was unable to move my appointment time up. Leaving me to believe they did not want to invest the time in my dogs appointment, that I had book a month in advance.Disappointed by the situation, I decided to seek grooming services elsewhere. Fortunately, the second grooming salon, provided excellent service without any issues.My advice to anyone scheduling a grooming appointment would be to avoid booking it towards the end of the day. This experience highlighted the challenges that can arise when time constraints become a factor, leading to potential shortcuts or excuses from the grooming establishment.I hope sharing my experience can be helpful for others in similar situations.

Been here twice since moving to Ashburn. 1st time fish tasks so dirty felt bad for the fish. One employee tried to justify it by saying holiday rush was rough. Went back a second time. No change but daughter wanted some glo rock our the fish tank. Grabbed a bag that was labeled $5 then went to check out it went to 7.40 didn't notice until she gave my daughter her change back and I asked questions about it. Was told 10.40 minus 7.40 is 3 so what's the issues then I told them their product was mislabeled. She then responded none of the prices on anything in the store are accurate and they could care less about it. Go some where else. They could care less about animals or service. If your there for fish there are a couple of smaller locally owned stores in the general area that have much better service and care for their animals. Wish I would have visited them first.

This is the first time i’ve been to a pet store in loudoun county where everyone knows what they’re doing. The workers that helped me were highly experienced and answered all my questions! Ash in aquatics was very knowledgable and passionate and helped me pick out the best fish and plants! Nanette was also very friendly and let me and my friend watch her handle some animals which was very cool! I learned a lot today about animals and couldn’t have had a better time:) From the experience I had today, I will only be coming to this pet store from now on! Love this place!

I shop here pretty regularly for aquarium and cat supplies, as well as for treats for the office dogs. The staff is knowledgeable in the areas I’m interested in (mainly the aquaria, though they love chatting about any other pet too), and always friendly and helpful. The store is cleanly kept and well-stocked, and the merchandise is of excellent quality.I was pleasantly surprised to see they had tanks for surrendered fish, all of whom looked as healthy as one could expect (no obvious diseases or injuries, but would benefit from getting proper homes), and that they put a lot of focus on sustainable practices for saltwater fish, and list which ones are bred in captivity (which was most, if not all of them) as opposed to selling wild-caught fish.Attached photo is of a small tank I recently set up using supplies mostly purchased from Petco. The tank, substrate, filter, heater, thermometer, light, rocks, driftwood, Java ferns (tall plants on the left), and the anubias (broad leafed plants on the right with a much smaller variety tucked in the rocks) came from Petco. The ground cover plants came another vendor and I’m trying to save them.

A great store for all your pet supplies! Not sure about other Petcos and their services but this location has very helpful and friendly employees. I remember once, me and my wife had to return a few items we bought and Chris (the store manager at the time) helped us even though we lost a few receipts which was very accommodating. Overall, nice experiences for the few times I've been there and recommended!

I found everything I was looking for in the dog department. The fish department was a little disappointing. I know the fish are usually delivered on Wednesday, but there were less species of fish that were normally there and some were dead in the tanks. There was also low supply on the fish food I usually buy. Just a disappointment for the fish.

The management of this store completely neglects the Green Cheek Conure birds and the area where the poor parrots are placed is completely blocked by the dog training setup.Even when the training is done, one of the employees threw a fit about a year or so ago when I tried to go see the birds with my wife; they left the dog training wall/fence area there not being used and not letting customers approach the window to see the birds. Another employee noticed this and tried to assure the rude employee that we were just trying to see the birds but that didn’t stop the rude employee from pushing us away.Very disappointed. I wasn’t going to write this review but the constant neglect of the birds is very disappointing.

Today I witnessed someone bring in an eastern box turtle they had taken from the wild. An employee encouraged them to put it back but still showed them supplies they needed. They should have been kicked out of the store as taking a box turtle from the wild is ILLEGAL!!!also I can never find any ALIVE dubia roaches for my gecko here and they never restock them because they keep the dead ones on the shelves for months and months.

This store has a wide range of aquarium fishes , which are maintained properly and they have friendly staff too, They have freshwater fish as well as marine too , they have snakes , geckos, dragons, hamsters, Guinea pigs, parrots , love birds , many more , they do have medications for every issue you face with the pets , once I had an issue with my clown fish, a staff member have helped me how to treat my fish and suggested some medication which worked . I would highly recommend petco. Thank you .

No one was at the aquatic dept to help and I had to hunt somebody down to help me then no one was at the register and after waiting awhile I had to go find someone again to checkout then the price was wrong….terrible service from the beginning to the end..smh

I bring my Bulldog here to get his nails clipped and they do a great job considering how stubborn he is!The price is super reasonable and they always have availability when I walk in.We will continue to come back for his clippings and for toys and treats!

Just took my shiba inu here today. They groomed him and he looks so nice, and smells great. They took good care of him even though he's a little butthead. They were also super quick, a little over an hour and they were all done I loved it. Thank you guys for taking such good care of Nero, I appreciate it!!!!

Birds with no perches. At a minimum these birds need perches. I did mention it to the cashier who said they would talk to their manager. As a parrot owner and certified avian specialist I’m saddened at the conditions these birds are not even give the bare minimum. Hopefully a manager resolves this problem.

Petco has an incredibly impressive selection of cat products, especially for being a much smaller store than PetSmart. They've got everything from Fancy Feast to smaller, more niche and expensive cat foods. I appreciate getting to see it all at one place while admiring their forest of cat trees!

I have been coming here for years. The convenient location isn’t enough. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and transparent. I feel part of a community of pet parents rather than just a customer. All of the folks who are in grooming greet me whenever they see me enter. Even the obedience training staff and staff doing restocking offers a friendly greeting and an opportunity to ask questions or receive humble guidance. The selection is great and much like a certain large retailer, I always leave with more than I thought I needed. Cannot say enough good things

Good people willing to help with a positive environment towards animals. I take my Python inside everytime I go. And yesterday Kate I think/hope her name was, was willing to hold her, as in the snake and talk to two younger men about the snake. While I went around and grab some stuff. Of course snakes are a threat to many people, but it's great to have a place I'm free to take the snake, and kids are amazed to be able to actually touch the scales of a snake. That probably means more to them than plastic toy from a random store. +Great job Petco+
