Peanut loves going to Healthy Hounds and this is how he looks upon return. He is happily tired. The staff is wonderfully friendly and very loving toward him. Peanut loves his spa baths from Alex and his haircuts from Tonya. I personally feel so comfortable leaving Peanut for his playdates and spa days. After touring several Grooming/daycare facilities in the area, Healthy Hounds was were I felt most comfortable and anxiety free when leaving Peanut.

We took our Goldendoodle puppy Tucker, to Healthy Hound Playground in Herndon for his very first grooming. We let the front desk know what type of cut we wanted, not knowing who would be grooming him. When we picked him up, he was perfectly groomed just as we requested! We were so happy we asked to meet the groomer so we could personally thank him. Alex has been grooming Tucker since! We would highly recommend Alex if you want a perfectly groomed, happy, clean, fluffy, and great smelling pup!!

Healthy hound is one of the few good boarding facilities that actually take the dogs outside to potty regularly. The staff is friendly and efficient. My dog happily goes into the facility and is tired when he comes home, so that tells me he has had fun in doggy day care! We have also used the overnight boarding with no issues and the grooming salon is top tier. I highly recommend them.

We have been bringing our dog Charlie to Healthy Hounds for over 3 years for daycare and have boarded him a few times. He can't wait to get there when we are on the way and comes back home happy every time. The staff are very friendly and caring and the groomers there are the only ones he lets trim his nails and brush his teeth. I highly recommend Healthy Hounds!

Healthy Hound is great. My dog Eddie loves this place. All the people they hire are fantastic and love dogs. Also love that they take the dogs out during the day to do their business so they don't develop bad habits of going inside. Every employee knows the name of every dog and Eddie goes running to them when we get there. Twice I've been to the dog park when one of the employees from Healthy Hound was there. Eddie immediately recognized them and left me and spent the next 45 minutes hanging with the employees. They really do love dogs at Healthy Hound.

I’ve been using Healthy Hound Playground in Sterling VA ever since we got a puppy 7 years ago then added second one 3 years ago. The staff members are always fun, kind, caring and can tell they all love dogs they look after. It’s grate to have a doggy spa on site so we can always pickup our pups nice and clean after their boarding. Our pups loves when they go HHP and come home tired – good sign of having lots of FUN! We are lucky to have good dog daycare nearby.

We have been taking our dog here for daycare and boarding since we got him as a puppy 6 yrs ago. Every time I bring him in the door he is so excited to go play with his buddies that it’s hard to hold him back while I check him in. We have boarded him numerous times for out of town trips over the years as well. It’s well organized with an easy to use website to book usage. Great place. Highly recommend.

We’ve had a great experience at Healthy Hound. We adopted an adorable dog with terrible separation anxiety two years ago. We weren’t sure if we could ever leave her alone. Luckily she loves other dogs and has a great time playing at daycare. We love that she can also get grooming services while she’s there. Healthy Hound had the longest daycare hours of all the places we looked at. The staff are very friendly and our pup is always happy to see them.

We absolutely loved Healthy Hounds Playground and Grooming! We have been customers for years and have never had a bad experience. We take both of our dogs for grooming/full haircuts every few months. Both dogs look amazing when we pick them up! Daycare is awesome as well, lots of attention and walks outside. We love Healthy Hound grooming. The groomers always take time to talk to me about our expectations before they trim our very large friendly and often matted Goldendoodle! Our busy household schedule often doesn’t include time for daily brushy doodles need when their fur starts growing out. Nevertheless, Every time we pick her up after grooming, she looks beautiful, smells amazing and is always very happy!Prices are reasonable and drop off pick up is super convenient and fast!

This was an amazing experience for Bailey. She is not realty use to be away from home, but here she had a wonderful experience and looks like she plays a lot in the daycare. They take care of here with wash, nail and ear cleaning. I will definitely will recommend Healthy Hound.

We took George, our new rescue puppy, for his first ever grooming appointment at Healthy Hounds in Sterling, VA, in February, and we’re absolutely thrilled with the outcome! Not only did they do a super cute job, but the staff let us bring George into the lobby for a short sniff-around to lessen his anxiety on three separate days before the grooming. It helped us all feel confident, and George loved meeting everyone and took happily to his groomer on the day of the actual visit. We immediately scheduled our next appointment. Couldn’t be happier!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Healthy Hound! We’ve been boarding here for 3+ years now, and I have such peace of mind from drop off to pick up. Every time we walk in, they greet her by name, and she acts like she’s at her second home.My dog is fear reactive, and we use their individual care option for overnight stays. She receives just as much love and attention as dogs doing traditional care, if not more! They even make sure we can enter and exit outside the main lobby to reduce her anxiety around other dogs in close spaces.It can be hard trusting people to care for your dog, especially when they feel like family, but I have had such a great experience and am happy to recommend them to others!

Where do I start with this place?! This place is hands down the spot to take your pup to for daycare/boarding. I have a 6 month old pup and I’ve never gone through an experience like this but they sure made it a comfortable one! From start to finish, I felt so comfortable leaving my pup there for a few days. I highly suggest getting report cards of your pup bc oh my goodness! The detailed report and pics that is uploaded is the cherry on top! From what my dog did during the day, to how he ate, to how his night routine went. It made me so happy to hear my puppy Karl was having an amazing stay! Did I mention they add adorable pictures too!! I definitely would recommend this to anyone that has to use a daycare/boarding facility!

My pup is always well taken care of at Healthy Hound. We can utilize the same groomer every time and find it very easy to schedule online. My pup is always so fresh and happy when he leaves. He is an aussiedoodle so it is a time consuming haircut but they work wonders on him. Our favorite place!

Anytime there were any issues, they were able to handle it promptly and professionally and we were satisfied with the communication. Our dog,Fang, is a BIG (115#) baby when it comes to being groomed and the staff at Healthy Hounds has been extremely helpful and patient with him. We have been going to Healthy Hound for years and have never had an issue with daycare or grooming; one issue with an overnight stay. We drive 30 minutes to bring our dog here because, historically, they have done a great job with her. However, this most recent time we sent Nala for a grooming that we have done numerous times, nothing new: spa bath, whiten and brighten, and face/feet/fanny. Whenever we send her, they have ALWAYS sent her to daycare to dry off, rather than a blow dry, because she has a lot of fur, and the groomer would be there for hours trying to dry her manually. We then bring her home and give her a good brushing. We have done this every single time.This time, Alex decided to take it upon himself to take an extra hour and a half (according to him) to blow dry and brush Nala and charge an extra $40 for his work. My wife picked up Nala and I called her when I noticed it on the invoice they send immediately. Keep in mind, when you book a spa bath, there is a separate line-item request for "complete brush out" that charges $1 per minute, which is what we got charged by surprise.With me listening in on the phone, Alex proceeded to try to tell my wife that by their policy, they are allowed to charge extra if the brush out takes "longer than normal." In their agreements that we signed it says no such thing. Alex came across quite rude, speaking over my wife when she was trying to explain the situation that we have never been charged that before because she always goes to daycare to dry off and gets brushed when she gets home. We know how long this process takes, which is specifically why we have never requested this service. According to him, we would have needed to request them to NOT brush her out. So, we received a $190 bill instead of the usual $130 bill, $30 of which was for a half day of daycare, most likely because my wife arrived 10 minutes outside the grace period. However, if you asked Alex, he would say "we've always done it this way" and "I need to be compensated for my time." The concern here is: there is no clear line of where the charges stop. If he takes two hours to brush her out, do they tack on that amount of time without telling you?I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or what, but the fact that Alex treated my wife the way he did, by talking over her and more loudly than her to get his point across, Healthy Hound has lost my business. Last time I checked, if you bring your car to the shop for specific work and they decide to change your oil without telling you, any customer will have an issue with that. We used to go out of our way to bring her here, not anymore.

My dog Shadow loved going to Health Hound. She would get so excited on the ride to HH. I could hardly contain her. Shadow also was groomed at HH many times and they always did a great job. Additionally, the staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and well trained. Feather, the manager is wonderful to work with as well.I have had an excellent experience at HH. When Shadow my black lab passed away a few months ago, I started bringing in my daughters pug when she visited us. My experience was just as wonderful. They go out of their way to make sure that your furry pet is treated well. They are also flexible as you do not have to make reservations, you can drop off your dog any day of the week. I highly recommend HH.

Thankfully I have found a great boarding and day care facility for my dog that has a convenient location and superior staff. You see the same people, who know your dog by name, and that consistency and quality care translates into me not worrying about my furry family member when I’m at work or on a trip.

Prior to finding Healthy Hound Playground, I took my pup to another local doggie daycare but when I realized they did not take the pups outside for walkies and potty breaks I knew I had to make a switch. HHP was the only daycare I found that took the pups outside during the day - crazy! We've been going there for a few years now and my pups absolutely love it. The staff is phenomenal and I know my pups are happy because their wigglebutts are out of control when we pull up and they get to see their favorite HHP people. My 2 aussies are very different and HHP recognized that my little guy was ready to move to a different playgroup. The staff talked to me in advance of moving him to the bigger play room and gave me an update of how he did once he made the move. I appreciated the clear communication and it showed that they pay attention to the needs of each dog. I've also boarded my pups there on several occasions and while they are excited to come home, I think they would be just as happy to stay and keep playing with their pup and human friends. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about HHP and always offer this recommendation to friends and neighbors.

I have been a customer of Healthy Hound for over ten years and would never consider leaving my beagles in the care of any other kennel. HHP provides everything I am looking for in a kennel. I am happy they are open every day of the year. The most important part of this review should address the care of my pets, and this is where I feel that HHP really shines. Most importantly, I appreciate the daycare that HHP provides all day. There are three separate play areas based on a dog’s size which is important as my dogs are smaller. I also like the fact that staff are always present in the play areas. My dogs are always excited to arrive at HHP and are picked up tired yet happy. Just as important as daycare to me is the boarding at HHP. I know that my dogs are in a safe environment when we are apart. Having a staff person onsite with the boarders throughout the night is the big reason I never worry about my dogs when they need to be boarded overnight.Finally, I feel no review of any business can complete without a mention of the staff. The employees at HHP are obviously well trained at their jobs and experienced. The reception area always offers a warm greeting and moves you through the check in and check out process quickly. In closing, I absolutely recommend the daycare and boarding services provided at HHP. I have experienced a lot of kennels over the years and feel that HHP provides everything I am looking for when it comes to the care of my dogs.

Woaw! Very well managed and great facility. Granted, one must be looking closely for the place and GPS helped. 2nd haircut for Lexi and once again, Jessica did an amazing job. The place is huge, machines galore and front desk admins are very pleasant. Pricey but, you get what you pay for. Highly recommend. Here is sexy Lexy 🤣😉

I am so glad I found HHP! The staff is super friendly and always cheerful. They communicate with you if there are any issues or concerns. I like their concept of slow introductions on a dog’s intro/evaluation visit. I also like that they take dogs outside for potty breaks - no potty training regression at home for us! It is also convenient that they offer grooming services. Their hours are very convenient as well. I highly recommend HHP!

We absolutely love bringing our dog here for grooming! We’ve tried several groomers in the area and they are the only ones who can clip our boy’s nails. Everyone is so kind and the haircuts are perfect every time.

Kenji has been here twice now. The first haircut was fine, but this second one was PERFECT. I forgot the groomers name, but they did a great job. The only problem is kenji had a lot of little hairs on him afterwards that got all over me and my car, but I'll just ask them to make sure to clean him next time I go. Other than that, it's great and I reccomend this groomer.

We have used a few different grooming facilities and Healthy Hound’s Tonya is the best we’ve found! She does an excellent job of keeping our Australian shepherd beautiful, soft, and mat-free (even after she romps around in mud and ponds)!
