If I could give Heather & The Well Balanced Paw 100 Stars, I would! My 14-year-old Yorkie mix "puppy" is having mobility issues so we took her to the Vet, who discovered she has Lyme Disease that is affecting her kidney function. He advised a change in diet & a round of meds. We grabbed some food at the Vet for convenience & I immediately contacted Heather about what food she would recommend for kidney issues. Heather asked a few questions about my pup's palate and immediately gave some recommendations. Even though I reached out on a day they were closed, and because she was in her (adorable) shop waiting on a delivery, she bagged up some items & left them for me to pick up. She also wrote a lovely note with instructions & heartfelt message for my fur baby. Thank you, Heather, for your knowledge, expertise, and your love for animals that shines through for every customer & client. We are customers for life!

One of our favorite places when it comes to treating our greyhounds! Great variety of hard and soft treats, foods, plus much more. The team is always friendly & helpful. Our greys have visited a few times inside- better than kids in a candy shop! They also have a frequent buyers program there. Although we live elsewhere now, they STILL recognize us and were given special samples. We will always stop by when in town!

A great little shop in Staunton that is one of the best I have seen. A wide variety of high quality products and staff is very pleasant and helpful.I get everything from my gently cooked raw turkey and salmon to quality treats. My dogs are very happy.

Helpful and friendly! I love their selection of quality dog products. They consistently make sure to have my dog's special food in stock when I need it. Which is super helpful since I'm the last minute type of person and big box stores don't carry this dog food. 💜

We visit almost every weekend and the owners are such kind people! We love having a local pet shop that we know sells only good things for furry family members. Barley loves coming in and getting a treat at the “barkery” and loves the “raw” bar. We definitely recommend this place to anyone who lives in the area or is visiting.

You can take your dog in! Let my dog pick out what she wanted, and the workers gave recommendations that were mostly helpful, they underestimated a GSD puppy’s strength though.
