OMG! Their Gelato is so good! I got their brownie sundae with peanut butter Gelato (pictured). The warm brownie was thick and rich, and the fresh whipped cream was light and sweet. It was all tied together with their delicious hot fudge! My wife got their Black Forrest Gelato (chocolate with cherries and dark chocolate ganache). The Gelato is so fresh and creamy, yum!The staff were very friendly and they let us sample a few flavors so that we could decide what we wanted. The Banana Split Company is a great place to stop for a sweet treat!

So, I had just had a big lunch before I walked by this shop. One look at the flavors and I had to go inside to see it for myself. The decor was like a 50's ice cream parlor. The case had so many amazing fluffy gelato and sorbets flavors to choose from. The staff were friendly enough to let us try as many flavors as it took until we chose the right flavor. I will add this into the rotation of stops when visiting Staunton. Fair prices and amazing flavors!

Cute, relaxed atmosphere - 24 delicious rotating flavors - (seasonal availability or just themed depending on the time you go!) fresh, handmade waffle cones - homemade toppings - beautiful specialties.Give it a try any time, and let the staff recommend flavors if you're not sure what you would like.They also have a little something for everyone - including options for Vegan, Dairy free, Gluten free, diabetic safe, nut safe, etc. Just make sure you ask ahead of time!

Great deserts after walking around shopping in the old downtown area of Staunton. Some of the best gelato I've ever had and we will be back on our next visit into the area. Friendly staff with great AC.

Cute gelateria with lots of fun flavors. We got the brownie batter flavor and wished we’d tried more. Next time I’d go back for the toffee coffee. They have some seating inside and even a window to order from - just press the bell!Vegetarian options: They have vegan sorbet too

Awesome spot in downtown Staunton. The kids loved the selection and wanted all of it! The cones were fresh, we have m&m birthday cake, maple, chocolate and peanut butter. I missed the Sunday selection but will go back to get a banana split we saw on the way out. Love seeing and supporting the transformation that’s happening in this area.

It was raining, i was walking & had been for quite some time, 5 hrs away from home, (car issues) phone was dying trying to book a last minute motel for that evening. I seen an ice cream sign ☺️, went inside, wonderful smell & all looked very tasty, As My assumption was right! But not only was my gelato & lBlack raspberry sherbet & cherry cheesecake ice cream very delicious 💞But everyone working so friendly & nice props to the young gentleman server whom was very welcoming with his positive energetic vibes (allowed me to sit in there for over an hour even after I ate all my ice cream. as i was able to get a charge & make my reservations) & wished me a great evening as i left (has he had done so to everyone walking in & out the door )Keep putting out that positivity & kindness & trust the universe will bring it back to you tenfold ❣️ Thank you all again

Whoa Nelly, that's some good gelato. The ancho chocolate and white chocolate grishi are an excellent partnership, highly recommend. I really appreciate that they have junior sizes for my little ones. Handmade waffle cones and bowls. The little waffle cone piece on top of the cups is sweet and I love little touches like that, makes it special. Plus the waffle cones smelled so good, but I had no room for one after dinner, but still got to try it! The service was wonderful. I love to see the biodegradable cups. We came in the evening when the street was closed and sat outside while listening to a little live guitar and fiddle band. Just heavenly.

Yummy! This is the absolute perfect little walk up ice cream parlor for a warm day roaming around in Staunton! They offer a rotating menu of flavors including local favorites such as Virginia Peanut Butter, Sweet Cream, and Cherry Cheesecake!Aside from some local flavors are of course you traditional, vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, butter pecan, as well as sorbets, gelatos, milk shakes, banana splits, sundaes, and take away items!You can call ahead for larger orders, or order at the walk-up window and take your treat on a walk or sit down right outside the shop!A must try while stopping by Staunton for the day!

They have a nice selection of ice cream and several sorbets. We tried the sorbet and it was delicious and very refreshing for a hot day. You could also smell the fresh waffle cones when you walked in the door, which (as a person who has worked in an ice cream shop myself) is one of my signs of a great place. I also watched them mixing a new batch of chocolate ice cream while we ate.

The staff was super friendly and answered all questions nicely. Gave samples quick and helped pick my Gelato favors! The gelato was supper good and mindblowing awsome flavors. The daily flavors change so you get to try new and tounge blasting flavors. Also their waffle cones and Bannana splits are out of this world perfect. Want to try their Hot Chocolate next time looked amazing!!!

Good Gelato, my sister works there and is very good at her job. The Gelato is not normal ice cream, so for all the people saying they wanted normal ice cream, don't come.

Delicious and nice variety of flavors! You must get the waffle cone or bowl, they are all handmade right in front of you. I enjoyed the habanero chocolate with a scoop of sticky rice vanilla......I want it again but I'm 600 miles away! Yummy!

In a word… yum. Once I had gelato, there was no turning back to ice cream. Well, I do still eat ice cream, but how can you turn down something as thick, dense, and yummy as gelato?Icing on the cake, this store sources their milk locally from grass fed cows. No extra additives or fillers. And, they make their own stuff.I sampled a few flavors before settling on sticky rice and peppermint bark. I was happy with both flavors that were clear in taste and texture.The shop was small but fun. Fast and friendly service. They have window too if you just want to grab something on the go. Will definitely be back!

I can't say enough about the place! The staff were extremely friendly and generous with their samples of gelato. You could tell they enjoyed working there. Katherine waited on us and she was amazing! She prepared the most decadent banana split I've ever had. She was even particular about making it look perfect for us. She was just delightful. Cannot wait to return (if my figure can handle it!)

Delicious! I love the cute diner vibe and the variety of flavors. They had some really creative flavors which I love to see (like pineapple basil and sticky rice). I tasted three flavors and all of them were wonderful. Bright and full-bodied flavor and smooth decadent Gelato.They've changed their pricing a lot, apparently, because the pictures on Google reflect a wide range of prices none of which were up-to-date. (Just be aware in case you're looking at those menus ahead of time like I did)

Holy cow! The Split Banana Co, is probably the best gelato in the States. The gelato is as good as any gelato in Italy. Very smooth and the flavor is super intense. I had the chance to try the Chocolate hazelnut, key lime pie, mint stracciatella, and blackberry raspberry sorbet, every single one was delicious.

Omg, delicious! The icecream was soooo tasty, every flavor we got. I love that they tell you where their ingredients are from—mostly local and LOVEEE that the spoons and cups are biodegradable! I’ve never seen an ice cream shop do that and so appreciate it.

The ones who know me know that I love Italian ice cream very much. Yesterday evening while strieving trough Staunton I discovered this place by chance. My choice out of roughly 20 flavours were Pecan Butter and Espresso. Both were delicious. Pricing is not low but fair since you get one of best ice creams I've ever had. They produce in house after Italian tradition eventhough they use modern equipment. The flavours they make are adapted to the American taste which is fine for me since it opened a new range of tastes to me. And they did an excellent job. It is definitely worth to go some extra miles to get that. Is there anything I didn't like? No, may be except the name of the shop. It would not have expected that in a shop named as it is.
