Not a great grocery store but the only one in town. They don't have certain brands of chips and things like that, like Funyuns. The counter food is decent and well priced, they carry breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches, chicken, and sides. There is a Redbox in the store.

Nice local store and convenient for Stanardsville residents. Could use some upgrades. Mostly clean and priced what you would expect for a local store. They do have handicap parking and everything inside the store is set up for wheelchair. I go there from time to time and always friendly atmosphere. Recommend giving it a try and stay away from the main stream of Ruckersville.

This place is your small town grocer. They don't carry everything out there but have decent meats, produce & wonderful employees. I use their curbside option and very seldom am I disappointed. If visiting locally, stop by for your grocery needs. Thanks Great Valu employees!

Came for heavy whipping cream and was blown away by the price. $8.05 for a 32oz essential brand. All other places are less then $5. Absolutely insane to me

I visited this store while on a small weekend trip in Lydia Mountain Virginia. I had a list of items that I needed to go out and acquire. I was unsure if this store would have it all...but I was astonished really. The area seemed pretty dead and I had my doubts about if I'd end up being able to get what was needed.However, from snacks to liqour/beer(The small Johnny Bootlegger bottles are dangerously smooth) to coffee and energy drinks they had what I needed and what really made my day was how kind the staff and even the customers were. I definetly felt welcomed.

Pretty good place to shop in town. I love the deli clerk Mrs. Cynthia she always greets me with a warm pleasant smile and excellent service. There are quite a few nice and friendly people in the store and deli department as well.

Nice local grocery store. Nice variety. Prices a little higher than the bigger chains but easier on the gas tank. Very helpful and friendly staff.5.26.2022 update. Great small town grocery store. They carry lots of items that aren't found in most other grocery stores. Good deli for ordering chicken for parties or grabbing breakfast or lunch during the week as well.

Great store to buy meat! The steaks, hamburger, and pork chops are always fresh and reasonably priced when I shop here. I usually carry a cooler and stock up on meat. Usually don't buy too much in the produce department unless it's cabbage or potatoes. The deli department has delicious fried chicken!

I stop in here several days a week for a salad made by the ladies at the deli counter. It’s always fresh. The salad dressing is good and the price can’t be beat.While there may not be a huge selection, I really appreciate having a grocery store and place to pick up a salad or fried chicken in Stanardsville.

Has almost everything a larger store has and some things they don't. The deli and meat areas are consistently very good. Produce is more hit than miss. They do carry LOCAL produce items but seem to run low or don't restock enough..

I would like to see more stringent mask wearing requirements. In Greenbelt, MD no mask, no shop. Regardless, some yummy looking WV small farm eggs I'm looking forward to trying. Some good looking sausage I think they made in store. And, some good looking locally baked bread.

Cashier did not have a mask. Seemed indifferent to risk. Other than that, it's what you would expect from a local grocery store. Sale item prices are very good, most everything else a bit high.

The produce is in very bad condition every time I go in. Also, it pays to check expiration dates before making a purchase.As they are the only grocery store in Stanardsville, it would be great if they'd try a little harder to keep products fresh and the store clean!

It is a small business, so you can't expect much, but I'd say it's OK. It looks shady, and it is, but it's better than some of the other joints around here.Cheap prices, all right products. Of course, I have some complaints. Products sold here are often expired, or not taken care of properly.

Excellent store. Staff left a lot to be desired. Cashier, a guy, put things in bag all together and a tub of Cole slaw played over on its side and dumped. Not real smart.
