We’ve had our sweet bernedoodle for nearly 2 years and have struggled to find a groomer we like. Everyone we’ve tried has been overpriced or has ignored our style preferences - or both. But the search is over! The team at Sittin’ Pretty did a beautiful job with our sweet girl. They are wonderfully kind, very responsive, and very reasonably priced. They kept me updated throughout the grooming process and sent me home with a perfectly groomed pup who showed no signs of stress. We won’t be going anywhere else for our grooming needs from here on out!

I am super picky with who grooms my dog after having a very bad experience from another groomer in Stafford. I won’t go anywhere else anymore. So glad I found these gems so close to homes. It’s easy to make an appointment that’s convenient to me. They do an amazing job on Lucy Woo every time! Picture was taken not after grooming but of who they take care of.

Kathy is the best! As well as being a great groomer, she loves her dogs seems to actually understand them. All I have to do is tell my four-legged best buddy that we're going to see Miss Kathy, and he races to the car.

Staff was courteous, helpful, and friendly. The place was clean and since it is a renovated house it felt cozier. My favorite part was since my dog stayed over Valentine’s Day, they did a paw print valentine with him to give to me along with a few treats. It was the sweetest idea ever.

This was my first time ever using Sitting Pretty Pet Salon and I honestly will be using them all the time from now on! Being fairly new to the area trying to find a good spot where I know my fur baby would be in good hands. I’ve tried a couple places and this is it. My pup gets separation anxiety and would come back home sad but this time she was so happy and cute with a bow. Kathy was amazing and explained their whole process. She even called 30 minutes before she was done so we were able to pick our pup up.

Sarah is nothing by amazing with my Dood! Poor girl was abused by a groomer at one point and has had grooming anxiety since. She’s still nervous when we arrive, but Sarah is nothing but patient with her to get her calm and groomed to perfection every time.

I love Sitting Pretty! My girls have gone here for years and Sarah does an awesome job! I just picked them up and they are so soft and pretty! My husband can always tell when I take them to the "good" groomers because of how soft they are and it lasts. With two lab mixes they shed like crazy and I find the shedless program to be worth the extra cost. I've taken them other places and as soon as I pick them up they are shedding like crazy already, with Sitting Pretty they don't start shedding again for a couple days which is a nice break! I've even used them for house sitting and everything was great!

No matter who grooms Tilly she comes home looking fabulous and always prancing around like she knows she looks great. I would recommend Sittin’ Pretty to anyone that is concerned with the welfare of their beloved pet while being groomed. Tilly gets treated as if she lives there and loves to go visit her friends.

After being shown around the shop and seeing the excitement from the pets on hand I have nothing but great feelings about this business.....Love is in the air when you bring your pets into the front door of Sitting Pretty. If your considering this business as the place you want to bring your pet do so and realize that some people just may not get the great vibe I got from this place and some people are just filled with so much hate in their bodies that no matter how much a business bends over backwards for them they just are not happy. Please use common sense after reading these reviews and know there has to be more to the story then what some people are telling. I am a Vet of the USMC and I know an honorable business when I see one and this Pet Salon is top notch.

Took my older Golden Retriever in for a grooming. What an amazing job they did. She looks great and she enjoyed the trip. I will do again never any issues with Sitting Pretty.

I had my dog groomed here and he was cut in multiple spots. The groomer cut my dogs ears WAY too short and when I asked the groomer about it he said “I’ve been doing this 15 years and I’m just not good at ears.” Mind you, my dog is a golden doodle and when I made the appointment I was told this groomer was the “doodle guy.” Would not recommend especially if you have a poodle/doodle or anything else like that.

I love this place. My toy poodle always comes out looking pretty and smelling really good. They always listen to what I want and give me their suggestions. I think my dog has fun too while in there because she always look so happy when I pick her up.

This place is most definitely the worst place to take your dog for any type of grooming. I originally scheduled an appointment to have my dog shaved , not trimmed, and the gentleman I spoke to was aware of what I wanted. I warned him about the condition of my dog, being that shes old and has many undiagnosed bumps and lumps on her to be careful with her. He suggested I bring her in beforehand to "meet them" which was odd and I declined that offer because my dog always gets anxious going anywhere. I didn't want to put her through that twice. Because of this he said we couldn't do an appointment later in the day and it would have to be in the morning because it would take all day to do what I had requested. I rescheduled and I was unable to take her in myself because I had to be at work all day. I had my father pick her up and he was unaware of what I had asked for so he paid and even left a tip. I paid $100 total for what I thought would be her getting shaved as I normally do when I take her to the groomer. When I went in today to talk to the manager she said the man I spoke to wasn't a groomer and that when you make an appointment over the phone you have to tell them again what you told them on the phone once you drop them off because usually the person on the phone is not a groomer. The man I spoke to however, was a groomer, and he didn't seem to have any memory of our phone call when I came in today. I told them why I came in today and immediately they were all annoyed at the fact that I told them they did not give me the service I had scheduled and requested. They were quick to dismiss the whole issue as not my problem because we already got paid. They didn't try to help or understand in the least and even told me they had other things they had to do today. As a paying customer its unbelievable to me how much they dont care about their customers. I cant help but wonder how this business still thrives with such terrible service and high prices. Definitely would not recommend to anyone in the area as there is plenty of other places you can go for better service and cheaper prices. Not to mention their trim or haircut they did on my dog was so minimal it looked like they didn't even cut her hair at all.

This place was recommended by a friend. When I first pulled up and walked in there was a women at the front desk, she was shuffling papers around and was talking to one of the groomers.I explained to the front desk women this was the first time my dog has been, we typically go to CoCo clips in Vienna. I informed the women as she took my dog that I wanted her nails filed down. The women was unfriendly and I noticed she and the groomer were having a disagreement as I was leaving.When I picked up my dog the cut was so bad it was shocking. They didn't file the nails they cut them but they were left jagged. Looking past the gate you could cut dog hair on the floor and several dogs running loose threw the dog hair. This was the worst dog grooming experience, no only did they do a horrible job but they are about $10 more than petco who does a fantastic job.

This review is two fold. First I'd like to say that my dogs groom was excellent. I had written a post after our first visit praising the quality of our Old English Sheep Dogs groom. Unfortunately after multiple grooms I soon realized that Sitting Pretty really was not interested in keeping me and my two Old English Sheepdogs as customers. I took my fully coated OES in for a summer clip that I knew would be a big job. I had them put him on the table so I could run my poodle comb through him to show the groomer that he was not matted and that I didn't want to have to pay additional de-matting fees. I signed a piece of paper that stated the cost would be $95.00. A very reasonable fee for the job that needed to be done. I had budgeted $150.00 for the groom. They called me 2 times in the course of the day to tell me that it would be longer than expected. When I finally got the call that he was ready I came immediately to the salon only to find all the groomers had left and my dog was in the care of the daycare worker. When the day care worker presented me with my bill, it was for $175.00. No $95 as quoted. I felt that this was very unethical on the part of Sitting Pretty. They charged me a $20 dirty dog shampoo fee (huh?? it's a groomer for gosh sake, how many clean dogs come in there? My dog was NOT dirty), an additional de-matting fee, even though it was proven he was not matted prior to the groom. Sitting Pretty had multiple opportunities to tell me my dog would cost extra each time they called to say he would be longer than expected. They did not do that, and then they left before I could get there to pick him up. You see, they can make a lot more money grooming multiple little dogs in the time it takes them to groom one Old English Sheepdog, I understand this and was prepared to pay more. I had planed on giving a good size tip, however after the unprofessional way I was treated I will never go back.

As the owner of Sittin' Pretty Pet Salon I typically don't respond to on line comments people are very quick to write a negative review, as at the time they are angry with us and intend to hurt business.I wish they were as quick to write a positive review! Sittin' Pretty has been in business for over 20 years in the Stafford area so we must be doing something right! Ms. Long could not get her comb through her OES which is why she initialed next to a dematt fee at the rate of $40 per hour also her "summer cut " was a 3 inch hand scissor all over. Extra work is extra money! Hand scissoring is time very consuming (also done by the hour) therefor the cost will be more than a haircut done with clippers! The $95 was a base price for a large dog haircut, not a quoted price for the complete job. Ms. Long also failed to mention how pleased she was with the completed groom! The flea one is to crazy to respond to, as we would not groom a dog with that many fleas without a proper flea bath first. We hate fleas as much as anyone! The one about the ears; sadly its true, the groomer ignored my instructions and trimmed the ears anyway. Thank you in advance for considering our business. Miss Kathy

Prices are an object for Sitting Pretty. One expert groomer, the owner. However others appear to be high school girls with limited on no professional training. Poor ventilation has various breeds of dogs in the air and littering the grooming areas- looks like sweeping is only done daily.
