Excellent staff and great customer service. Wouldn’t leave my pets anywhere else during a vacation period. Excellent Grooming Service as well. Thank you OTPR for all you do.

Jason is an incredible groomer!!! We have had our 4 year old Labradoodle groomed at several places and Jason was the first not to claim she was matted - he took the time to cut her hair without trimming down to the skin…. If you want your doodle groomed - he is your guy!

My dog is a very shy girl but she loves staying here and they always take excellent care of her. We get regular pictures of her play time and they are very thorough with their records for their boarding pets.

I moved to the area a year ago, and was used taking my GS to petco and petsmart. Had horrible experience with them two and found Olde Towne Pet Resort. Best decision ever! I love the staff, and how they treat my GS Dog!! The groomer has been the same and she caters for my dogs need, including when she is anxious. She has a lot patience with my dog and even my dog likes her. The place looks amazing, like hotel but for dogs: reception, waiting area, has boarding, different trainings, it is a hotel and has different styles of “room” for dogs with camera you have access to watch while you are away. I recommend 100%

Absolutely Amazing!!! 5 stars all the way! Extremely professional, clean, and attentive. This place is the only place anyone should bring their furry family member. Top tier quality service and the staff is detailed, kind, and most of all caring. They really show how well they care for the pets and treat them with the love they deserve. Thank you Old Towne Pet Resort for not only taking excellent care of my baby girl, but making me feel at ease as well!

My partner and I found this place through a neighbor recommendation, and at first we were thrilled. We took our puppy in for a consultation for day camp and she loved the staff and had so much fun. My partner and I both work majority from home, so we wanted to get her some socialization outside of our house. We even brought her here to get groomed and we’re impressed with the groom overall. She went to day camp for a few hours at a time about twice, and today was going to go for a full day since my partner and I both had to work in office. I checked the webcam at work and at first was watching my dog run around having fun, but it quickly turned to anger after watching her be shoved to the side multiple times by the staff, mostly one staff member in particular. My puppy is a little needy at times and is still learning how to play with dogs, but she’s extroverted and loves humans so she mostly just follows the staff around as dogs especially puppies usually do. At one point the staff member was kneeled on the ground petting another dog, and when my puppy came up excited the staff member pushed her away forcefully and looked visibly annoyed, and that was it for me. I was totally understanding of watching it happen a few times, but after two hours of seeing my puppy ignored and shoved away when she was trying to get attention I grabbed my keys and drove an hour from my office to pick her up. I’m honestly typically not even a complainer, not a Karen, I’m very laidback and easy to please. But seeing my puppy continuously be mistreated and ignored due to the fact that she just wanted to be pet or loved on for a split second was a very hard watch for me and brought me to tears. I mean seriously, I don’t expect anything but for her to be pet every once in a while instead of the staff just bored on their phones. Every single time my puppy approached this staff member she was visibly annoyed by it. I’m pretty upset because we seriously loved this place before. So yeah, only bring your dog here if they don’t like having any attention or love at all.

It was the first time that I was leaving my fur babies away for a week. Old Towne Per Resort in Springfield were very nice, they really cared for my kitties as if they were their own, sent pictures, and called if there were issues with any of them. Definitely would recommend them to anybody!

I have been to a lot of grooming places with my two Shepard’s but Olde Towne Pet Resort is the best. Josephs know how to take care of my Shepard’s and always give me the details on what he did and how the boys did. The staff is really nice and professional.

Had a great experience today dropping off my dog for boarding for the first time. Very clean, the staff were helpful, fast and very friendly. I was impressed with all of questions they asked to make sure they were giving our dog the best possible care.

BEWARE - READ THE EDITED PORTION AT THE END OF THE POSTThis is the largest, most posh, pet care facility I have ever seen. It's very impressive. I always feel comfortable leaving my dogs here. It's a bit of a drive for me, but so far I've been willing to pass other locations for my pets to stay here. That being said, their check-in and check-out process is long. Each time I've placed my dogs here (at least three times in the last 6 months), the check in-process has taken a while. Don't think you can just walk in and walk out. You're going to be waiting. The last time I went to pick up, it took them over 20 minutes to bring my dogs down. No, the world won't end over a 20 minute wait, but between 10+ minutes to drop off and 20+minutes to drop off, plan accordingly especially if you have to get to the airport or you're pressed to get home. The check in/out time is the single reason I give them four stars in stead of five.Updated 12/12/2023This operation is out to rob customers of their hard earned money. I called to make reservations for a two night stay over Christmas and was informed that it had to be a minimum of three nights (at a cost of $178/night). So,1. "Let's take advantage of customers and make them stay longer than they need to. That's an extra $178 we'll rack up."2. Then as I was closing out the reservation I was informed that the dogs (I have 2) have to be given baths ($37/dog). It should be the owner's call as to whether they want their dog to have a bath or not. No, this site requires that for any stay over three nights the dog must be given a bath. So... they REQUIRE a three night stay (more money) and then REQUIRE a bath (more money). Yes, please, take another $74 out of my pocket. This was the tipping point. I (kind of) understood the requirement for additional nights. Holiday stays are in demand so they're capitalizing on that need. But to then force extra services, tied to that extended stay, is blatant robbery.I needed a two night stay that should cost me $356. They are enforcing policies that drive that cost up to $608, a 71% upcharge versus what this customer requires. DOG OWNERS BEWARE.UPDATE: Called my back up location and they weren’t forcing extra nights and mandated baths, so I chose them. Folks, there are other options that won’t try to take advantage of your needs.

Wonderful staff and thoughtful care of our pet Ruby when she boards. They have a variety of packages at reasonable cost, but they book up quickly, so call as soon as you know you will need boarding services.

They've taken very good care of my dog. She's always happy to go back, which is about the only review I need to keep bringing her back.

Really loved this place for my pets. Friendly service. They sent pictures of my kitties, daily as promised...some hotels say they will but don't. Met the Crazy Cat Lady, the Director, and she loved my babies----even the persnickety one. They'll be my first choice next time for sure.

My pup, Ellie, loves the OTPR front office staff and her counselors. She's always very excited and happy when we arrive to the lot and never wants to leave! She also received her basic obedience training here, as well they offer boarding services. Our family loves OTPR - Springfield and have been going here for the past 4-5 years and will likely continue for several more years!

Olde Towne Pet takes fantastic care of our two cats! One doesn’t love getting groomed and nails clipped and they are always so gentle with him. Our most recent adoptee has some skin challenges, and they work him over so well with the medicated shampoo, it really makes all the difference!!

Reservations were made without any hassles. Also got all my questions answered. Brought our 2 pups in today and they came out super ecstatic. They got the uptowne packages and a few other things. They have a great shampoo selection and the groomer is was very professional and caring for Cannoli & Biscotti. Thank you so much!!

Last weekend (labor day) was the first time I have boarded my two whippet dogs at any other boarding facility rather than our breeder. This place was very professional and clean. Checking process was great and they did a health check. They labeled everything and asked a lot of questions about feeding and play time. Lots of options for play time, cardio, etc. When I picked up my two whippets they were clean (I paid for the bath and grooming) and happy. I will be back here for 100%, everyone was so nice and so was Diamond that talked to me when I picked up my dogs to explain everything and ask me questions. Great place.

This place is amazing! Even if you do not opt for the kennels with cameras, their staff will send you photos of your pet during their stay (you can ask for some, too!).They kept records of Steve’s eating and bathroom habits, had everything clean when they returned Steve’s belongings to me, and even spoke to me about Steve’s stay by breaking down what he did, his eating, and his bathroom habits. Then the manager spoke with us as well!I booked this facility based on a friend’s recommendation. I also saw the quality of air filtration, water filtration and 24 hour staff which made me even more comfortable with my dog staying there. When I checked in, I was impressed the staff asked so many questions about his diet, what they could and could not supplement, and did a full health exam.I highly recommend this location!

Dropped off our 3 dogs and picked up 3 puppies. They enjoyed their visit, I enjoyed spying on the webcam, and their bath was awesome. All the undercoats were gone. Pricy but worth every cent.

We had video and we’re able to watch the staff interact with our pups. It was heartwarming to see them treat them as if they were their family. That’s why I love this place so much and we drive 45 minutes to board them there.

Love their services, the people there is very friendly and helpful. My dog goes to daycare 3 times a week and we have the chance to watching during the day through the cameras they have, also we bring his meal and he gets fed for free

Painful & Hurtful Experience. We’re a military family, and what started out to be a pleasant and relaxing 4-day weekend away at Camp Lejeune turned into the worst nightmare a family could experience. We choose OTPR to board our healthy, vibrant family pet, “Little Miss. Calypso”, a Lhasa Apso, who was vibrant, healthy, happy, playful and just turned 12 and had several good years ahead of her. I decided to board Calypso in at OTPR in a 5-star suite, alone she she’s a little shy (which had been relayed to the staff). The OTPR is a palace for pets, thus, we were planning for her to have a wonderful long weekend experience too. On Sept 4th, we packed up her Dish food, trays, treats, bed and favorite toys; completed the vital check-in procedures, gave our little girl a kiss, took a photo, then turned her over to the capable hands of the OTPR staff member, and off we went. Little did we know, this stay here at OTPR would be the last time we would see her happy, healthy and playful again; and her being full-of-life quickly turned fatal. Calypso was picked up from OTPR and almost immediately admitted into ICU at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center, Emergency Room, just a few blocks from OTPR, to undergo a series of costly x-rays, ultra-sounds, lab work, fluid drips, etc. The demise of her death was caused by Calypso not eating food during her 4-day stay, which lead to extreme stress and anxiety.During her stay, the staff failed to contact us to inform us of this situation, and the severity of the matter, nor did they follow their protocols to give her their food and along with a calming medicine that I agreed to give her, if she became overwhelmed, so she could relax then experience her happy and best life. Then, upon picking her up late Tuesday, Sept 8th, the staff never informed me of anything out of the norm, i.e., not even the important fact that she had not eaten in the past 4 days, yet expressing that she had a great stay.Sadly, immediately upon seeing Calypso, I noticed her reserved and unplayful, and loss of weight. On Wednesday, Sept 9th, Calypso began experiencing diarrhea, then vomiting large puddles of clear bio. I was devasted. I took her to the best hospital I could get her to (her 1st visit to any hospital in her lifetime), with the exception of regular preventative maintenance checks. She was diagnosed to have a serious intestinal infection, then came heavy bleeding in her intestines, heavy weight lost, weakness, and fatigue. There was also heavy bleeding that could not be controlled. Then came with the devasting news that the ICU doctors have done all they could do. Our little girl was euthanized the next day, Wednesday, Sept 15th, as I held her weak body in my hand while she took her last breathe as her heart stopped beating suddently, while her mother, who is an active duty soldier, who raised her from a puppy, watched this heart-breaking moment, via FaceTime, and cried heavily. She was picked up for cremation on Friday, Sept 18th, and yesterday, Sept 29th, I finally got the strength to go to UPS, at 8200 Alban Rd, in Springfield, VA; to retrieve the little brown cardboard box, that contains the remains of our little girl. What made this moment even more painful, was that directly across the street from UPS was OTPR; the place she was check in as a healthy dog, and now she lays in a lifeless box….. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this We choose the best resort for her safe care, and had we been contacted by the staff that she was stressed and hadn’t eaten, we could have possibly saved her life. Since her death, the staff changed their policy to contact the owner within 48 hours or sooner. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the call. I’ll forever miss the love of my best friend too. RIP Calypso. Our home will never be the same without you.

This review reflects my experience with Kristen JonesTrainer & CGC Evaluator at OTPR (Springfield) for the Stay & Train.Kristen was very responsive to call for the evaluation on 11 July 21 however, everything went downhill after that. I emailed her the same day after the evaluation and got no response until I made a complaint about her a few days later.I boarded my babies Angel & Aaron on 11 July 21 and Kristen was to begin training on 13 July 21. I emailed her with a question after the consultation and got no response. She called me on 13 July 21 to tell me that she had trained my babies and would send pictures and a video the same day however, I got nothing. I emailed her after that call and again, no response. As a result of the aforementioned, I felt it necessary to watch my babies on the video camera in their room the next day, 14 July 21 and NOT to my surprise given the initial inconsistencies, I found that Kristen had MERELY taking my babies out for a 15 min "training session" however, the cost of training was $200 per pet, per day for 1.5-hour sessions each.Upon my calling to complain about the lack of training they were receiving, I promptly received a text from Kristen stating among other things "I have also been keep in the sessions relatively short to ensure they are having fun because they tend to get overwhelmed with the longer sessions". This was ONLY the 2nd session and she had already decided to "keep them relatively short".... when would she inform me? If she had to "keep the sessions relatively short" when would the sessions be made up to total 1.5 hours per day?... Just as I shared with her during the consultation, my babies had already completed both beginner and advance training thru other services, so they were not a stranger to training, I was merely looking to enhance their knowledge and possibly include some new skills. My babies had already received a total of 16 training sessions in which they all were over 1 hour long per session so her decision to train my babies for only 15 mins a day was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE for a total of $400 a day.The services, inconsistencies, and lack of candor of Kristen JonesTrainer & CGC Evaluator at OTPR (Springfield) did not work for me and as a result, I found it necessary to promptly pick up my babies and to share this information with others. This review is NOT a reflection of Maria, Fernando, Albert, and the other staff at OTPR (Springfield) who had provided us with 5-star service given a situation that occurred with Aaron during Day Camp and even afterwards given the unprofessionalism of Kristen.Unfortunately, as a result of Kristen's overall actions, I cannot in good faith or conscience return to OTPR.Respectfully I am.Natalie.

They do an amazing job with grooming and my dog has never had any issues. Always comes home happy. We used to go to PetSmart... he always seemed traumatized and really jumpy and clingy when he came home. It is worth spending the extra money.

We have been coming here for years and editing my review from 5 stars to 4. They have raised the prices and made the cat vip cages smaller to fit more cages I assume. The camera in the cat room is trash and has been outdated the entire time we have been going. Every time we check the camera the cats seem to be locked up, this has been a common occurrence over the last year. We now have to pay additional money to ensure our cat is let out. Our dog still loves this place, so we will still bring him but we most likely will not bring our cat here any longer.

I have boarded my elderly cat Bella here many times and she loves it! So do I!The staff is so caring and friendly. They love Bella like she's family. We take Bella here (we have 2 other cats) because she had medical issues and likes (needs) attention. They take care of both. She comes home looking better than ever. It really is a resort.I will always recommend and use Olde Towne Pet Resort. 😻👍😻

I took my 8 year old labradoodle for a full groom this morning. Mark did her groom and did fantastic! She was such a happy girl when I picked her up. I will be back and can’t wait for mark to take care of my baby girl again!

The people here took great care of our dog. The room was much more comfortable for our dog than a typical border, and the common room dog-day-camp was incredible for her. All times where the dogs were interacting has multiple staff members watching and ensuring safety, and both her room and the playroom had easily accessible web cams to monitor her care. The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We will definitely use them next time we need boarding.
