Excellent visit here. Very friendly staff. We enjoyed the tour and had 2 flights after the tour. The back story is really cool- motel turned distillery! The whiskeys we sampled were very solid. The tour was well done and had a good flow to it. One thing: our tour guide used a couple of 4 letter words on the tour. We prefer keeping it professional but that’s just us. We’d recommend a visit here and will definitely be back.

What a wonderful find! We were heading back home from a weekend adventure and happened upon this distillery during the Sperryville Festival we spotted as we were passing by. Our drinks were superb and the atmosphere so relaxing! Thanks Rick for your hospitality. I recommend you stop in if you enjoy unique beverages, good people, and comfortable atmosphere.

Even though it was just myself, I had a great time trying the different whiskeys Copper Fox provided. They had a wide variety of flavor profiles. So I’m sure visitors will find something they enjoy. I enjoyed the Chestnut American and bought a bottle while I was there. I also bought an Age Your Own Whiskey kit that I can’t wait to do. The atmosphere was great and will be more enjoyable with friends and family.

Copper Fox Distillery was a very cool find! My boyfriend and I enjoyed delicious cocktails during sunset after hiking Old Rag. We were the only ones there and enjoyed sitting by the river watching the cat roam around. The inside had some of the most interesting decor too. Their Old Fashion was one of the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend!

We stopped in for a mid-week tour and tasting and were not at all disappointed! Sean was a delight to spend time with as he talked and walked us through the story of Copper Fox, as well as the processes they employ for making their incredible whiskies. We also met Rick and he was such a kind and generous host. We enjoyed some flight tastings out back overlooking the flowing stream on a lovely day. Time well spent! We will be back.

A delightful, unassuming location. When you pull up, you might think your GPS took you to the wrong location, because you will be surrounded by old warehouses. Rest assured, you're in the right spot! Follow the sign to the distillery, and head in the main doors to be greeted in a rustic space that pays homage to the building's roots. If it's a nice day, head out back for a nice surprise - a cocktail garden alongside the river! The menu is loaded with tasty cocktail options for you to enjoy, as well as a couple spirit flights. I'd personally recommend the premium flight because it contains some of the best local whiskey expressions I've had. While you're in the garden, you may be joined by one of the distillery's cats, which can provide extra entertainment if they're in a hunting mood.

Nice little surprise along our drive today! This distillery had a nice cocktail list, beautiful view out their back door with a babbling brook, and the atmosphere inside was also very inviting.The four of us enjoyed a couple hot totties and old fashions. These were the best drinks of our whole vacation. If you have the opportunity make a stop at Copper Fox, you won’t be disappointed.

We discovered an absolute hidden gem here! Despite arriving just an hour before closing, the manager (whose name escapes me) delivered exceptional service. He led us on a delightful tour, enlightening us about the whiskey-making process. I can't wait to return with friends and family to share this cozy and inviting atmosphere. Went on a tour last Sunday at Williamsburg location and had such a nice time. Gabriel was such a good tour guide and has a great sense of humor. We truly enjoyed learning about the Whisky making process and touring the distillery. Such a great date! Seeing the process and smelling the aromas of freshly distilled spirits was quite nice. Ending up our tour with a stop in the bar and enjoying a flight of the Whisky and one of the best Whisky sours that I have ever had. We truly had a great time!

Had gone for what seemed like a never ending hike before coming here and all we wanted to do was sit and have a cocktail- it didn’t disappoint. They have tables outside right along a creek/river/stream/babbling brook- I could have sat there all day. It was so peaceful. The cocktails were strong and delicious. We’re in the area for a few more days and we’ll definitely return for another drink.

Visited the distillery in Sperryville. Really cool place to relax and get a whisky flight or cocktail. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and super chill. Loved the inside decor- comfortable and welcoming. They have some games and cards you could use and a nice place outside to sit. It was very cold when we visited so we opted to stay inside. We both liked the whiskey flights. My fav was the Copper Fox original Rye. II would have loved to try a cocktail too but was driving. Give 'em a try if you are in the area!

One of the best distilleries in VA!Been here twice now and I'm never disappointed. On the recent visit the inside seating was closed but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had expanded to outdoor seating along the stream out back.As expected their spirits didn't disappoint and the staff were as friendly as I'd remembered them, even pouring me and extra taster to help aid in my decision of which bottle to bring home with me.If you like good liquor and happen to be in the area don't miss this place!

This quaint distillery is an awesome experience. From the incredibly friendly service to the amazing set-up to the awesome spirits. Located along a babbling creek, one may enjoy quality spirits in a tranquil environment with the Shenandoah mountains along the horizon. The whisky tasting is divine with flavours that truly engage the palate. Truly worth it. Slàinte mhath!

I spent a week in the Shenandoah mountains alone, a true getaway. While exploring the valley to see what there was to experience, I came across this place and decided I had to check it out. I have rarely made a better decision. The whisky was phenomenal top to bottom, I tried both the regular flight and premium flight and was disappointed with none of it. The staff was warm and welcoming, service was excellent, and the setting… the setting was unbeatable. The riverside bar was everything I needed. Prices are excellent, quality is absurd, and I can’t recommend this highly enough. I’m now on a quest to get the state of Alabama to try to bring this into distribution so I can buy it at my local liquor store instead of driving 950 miles! Do yourself a favor, try Copper Fox… You gotta do it!

Some of the best whiskey I have tried in one of the most serene locations. The staff at the distillery were friendly and knowledgable. I tried the premium flight to experience their more interesting products. The port style rye may be one of my favorite whiskeys to date. We sat out back next to a trickling stream that made for a fantastically peaceful experience.

This is a must stop place to see and try if you are into distillery/tastings. I got the flight and pirate lemonade. Everyone was nice and the atmosphere was just perfect. If I had to be nit picky, I would add a bug attractor away from the guest area to deter the disturbances of bugs. All in all, will definitely return!

Loved this place great drinks awesome outdoor seating on the river.....friendly staff.....only issue is we paid our bill of $35.00 and purchased a bottle of whiskey......tipped 15% which we assumed would be on the food/drink bill of $35.00 but realized after that we tipped on the bill INCLUDING the $40 bottle of whiskey so the tip was $12.00 instead of $7.00. Not okay.

This is truly my favorite micro distillery in Virginia. if you like handcrafted whiskey and rye based whiskey's this is definitely the place you need to go. they have two locations but the one in Sperryville Virginia is hands-down the most interesting to go see as it's in an old Apple processing facility. During the warmer months they also have a great outside area by a stream for cocktails and just relaxing.

What a great experience. We were greeted at the door and explained about the distillery. The shop was nice. We went outside to enjoy a drink and discovered a relaxing river view. Steve the cat joined us and kept us company. We were very impressed and will be back.

My friend got a bottle from them at the whiskey wine and chocolate festival and the event staff lost her bottle. Copper Fox quickly resolved it and made she she got her bottle. Super nice staff and great whiskey 🥃

This is a cool distillery! They give free tours and offer cheap tastings and some unique bottles for purchase in their gift shop. The building is architecturally beautiful and historic as well. As of 05/2017, if you check in while you're there and/or post a picture, they will give you a small tumbler/tasting glass for FREE!

Went by this great distilled and surrounding shops with friends who live locally. Their gin is awesome and owners/staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Get a tasting so you can pick your favorite spirit.

We enjoyed a wonderful tour of the Copper Fox Distillery led by the owner's daughter, Darcy. It is truly amazing the heart and soul that does into making a craft whiskey. We then were treated to a sampling of a number of terrific artisanal whiskeys and a beautiful botanical VIP gin. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever anywhere in Virginia or the surrounding states.
