I enjoy shopping at the South Hill location during the evening hours. It's seems like this location is less busy and quiet. The store normally seems to be clean and organized. The prices are much lower than the Dinwiddie Food Lion. All of the workers are friendly!

Typical food lion chain grocery store.lines can get long at times but the checkout goes faster than some I have been to.Most of the cashiers are very fast and welcome you to the store.

Ah. Good ol' Food Lion. A good way to save money on groceries. I kinda wish there were some food lion stores up north but what can you do?Anyway, a lot of renovations has happened since my last visit home but I am NOT complaining. I got what I needed and was able to get out rather swiftly. Definitely a go to store for my food shopping.

SHOUT OUT TO T.J. Hate going to grocery store on weekends, BUT NOT TODAY. I was standing in a LONG line as only 2 registers were open, YIKES, people in line were already getting frustrated knowing how long this would take. Then a HERO walks in from the parking lot. T.J. was hustling carts and when he entered the store he quickly noted the huge issue and opened a register!!!! WHO does that?! He could have easily returned to the parking lot, but NOOOOO. Like a good team member and a kind and considerate person he jumped in to ensure a great customer experience. I was blown away. Attention Food Lion, this young man is management material - he has vision and heart!!!!

This is my favorite Food Lion to shop at, staff is always helpful, they always have everything I am looking for. One time a jar of pickles broke on me in the parking lot, all I was asking for was someone to come clean up the glass and not only did they clean up the glass but also replaced the pickles. I did not expect that. Keep up the good work.

This is a great location. I can't think of anything negative actually. Only positive things. Clean store, nice employees. The best thing is that it's hardly ever crowded. It's a great location in my opinion if you want to get in and out without navigating through a million other people who are In a rush hitting you with their carts.

This Food lion in South Hill is very clean and staff are friendly. The store is brightly lite so you don't have to strain your eyes to see what you are buying. Fast service and enough registers open when needed.

I can't get passed the fact that Food Lion was all about quality and fresh.What is going on? They're packaging spoil and rotten meat. Second time buying chicken wings that soon as you open the package it stinks and not safe to eat. The mandarins, potatoes, that mold on day 2 of purchasing them. You are letting me down Food Lion.

Good Customers service in general( except the Deli) good prices and high quality produce and meats. Super clean bathrooms and the look of the store is neat and organized.For some reason all the above fall short with the deli.. yes the quality of the cold cuts are very good but to get someone in the deli to wait on you in a polite manner is rare. Almost impossible to get deli meats/ cheeses cut to the desired thickness you ask for and when you do get it cut thin it is put in a big clump that you can not get apart. A few of the deli staff( young boys) will put paper between the layers of cheese when you ask them to but most refuse or say they will but do not. Very disappointing to come home and find that the first 2 or 3 slices of meat or cheese are how you asked for it and the rest are so thick that you can do nothing with them.. same goes for the cheese.. Deli workers look like you are bothering them everyone you walkup to and have to wait for them to decide to wait on you. None of the other departments in the store treat customers that way. Meats,Fresh produce and dairy bend over backwards to get you just what you want and with a have a nice day and a smile.. cashiers always friendly and helpful.. just the Deli needs a lot of help.. A store can have great product but if those who serve you act hateful and unhelpful then why put yourself through it..Over all a great and good store to shop in but stay clear of the deli..

Wish that the check out was self service. The persons bagging must not care if bread or chips get smashed or crushed since always put those with can goods or heavy items. I understand that there is a recommended number of items per bag but common sense should also be applied. Most of them also don't know how to smile or interact with customers.

Seems much better managed than the Walmart down the street. Registers move relatively quickly, and when a crowd forms, they open up more registers promptly. It is on the pricey side for many items though, unfortunately. Good to shop for sale items, and an in and out shop!

Store is larger then the usual food lions with a better selection. Wait times at cash registers is fairly short. Front end staff could be more responsive when lines do back up though. Store accepts NFC payments (Google pay and Apple pay)

They no longer have a deli to offer...salads etc..too fast service and the deli associates are very un interested in helping you. Extremely not friendly. The Food Lion in South Hill is higher in their flyers price than other near by cities or towns.

Nice, clean Food Kitty. Mush fresher produce than our other local produce store, Walmart. This isn't their biggest store so I noticed they don't quite have the selection of, say, a Richmond store. For instance, Richmond Food Kittys carry diet A&W root beer, diet cherry Pepsi, etc but this one doesn't. Still, it's a nice store that's stocked well and has friendly employees.

I was able to get what I needed which ended up being on sale along with some other items. My cashier, Amanda, was great in bagging my items accordingly and put them in my cart. I enjoy shopping in this store.

I only visited this store for milk and creamer because I didn't feel like going to Walmart to get the creamer I use. I went into the store about a month ago and this lady had her dog in the cart barking at everyone. I have nothing against pet owners but I feel animals should be allowed in grocery stores unless they are medical dogs. I was in produce section when she pushed her cart towards me and I had to move away quickly because I'm allergic to animals with hair. People were complaining and management didn't want to do their job. They finally told her she had to take dog out, but that dog barked and spit on the produce. How nasty and gross is that.

Food lion is a great substitute for Walmart especially in the area of South Hill, VA. Great savings and a lot of their branded items are sold there. Staff is nice and it is clean. Would recommend.

Trying to find items was difficult, even when the isles had the signs. But the food looked veru freash. It was also difficult get to the freezer section as well. You had customers trying to get meats, and some meats was not out there. The BUTCHER was already out there putting meats. His cart in the way& having to wait while this process take place. Not only when they're restocking they need to keep the carts& 📦 es out of the isles as mu h as possible, before someone has a ACCIDENT. Thank you for letting me voice my experience!
