My first visit. I'm looking g for a convenient, comfortable store to shop in. I'm getting prepared to paint at my house. The man in the paint department was very good to explain the paint selection. My main issue that this will not become my new hardware store since moving from another town is they have no public restroom. It may seem superficial, but small kids and doing multiple stops in one errand run requires a public restroom. I really would avoid this one for that reason. They were kind enough to suggest a nearby business, but it's an almost deal breaker.

I walked into Smithfield true value and right off the bat one of the clerks assistant me and trying to find what I needed.When he was unable to locate he quickly employed another who was also very knowledgeable. Alas, neither was able to assist me as the product of my inquiry was no longer there.Both people took me exactly to where it would have been if it had been there.I am thankful for Smithfield true value for hiring these individuals has they are an asset to your company.I'm sorry that I did not get their names.But if you check the cameras I was in there right at 9:05 9:10 this morning. Striped shirt and shorts.

I am new to this area and have found True Value to be very convenient. There is one employee, who is always friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember his name. Until today, my experiences have been great.I decided to bring my hubby today to buy some paint. He has health issues and has to use a cane to get around. He needed to use a rest room and when we asked where they were, we were told they were not open to the public. I have never been to a store that size that didn't have one?We are customers, not loitering vagabonds. Very insensitive! I will not be going back there!.

The store usually has what we're looking for but the customer service is non existent. There are maybe 2 guys who are helpful, the rest are lazy gossip gals. Always standing around the register like its the hangout spot. The girls their make us feel like we're an inconvenience on their time when we check out.

Great service and very helpful owner. The only place we could find the cabinet stain we needed. Clean and well stocked, with a good selection of outdoor/patio needs. Glad we found this place, will definitely be returning.

I am not local to this store, I traveled here looking for something special in the gardening department. They had what I couldn't find anywhere else. This was my first visit. I was greeted at the door and I was offered help twice. The store was well kept and the employees were nice. I would shop here again.

Place carries a ton of different bolts but alittle lacking in the lumber department. Does carry some basic lumber, 2 by 4s and the like. Staff is always helpful. Has had what I need for my small projects.New visit for plumbing supplies, has alot of flange repair kits, pipe kits, faucet kits, tank parts etc. Had what we were looking for, even with the strange flange installation the house builder made.

I have found their pricing competitive with Lowe's. I have never had any negative encounters with staff, in fact they have been repetitively helpful in special ordering material I have needed. I hope in the future they will sell lumber as there are no lumber outlets close by.

Lawnmowers, bird seed, cleaning products, nails, Gorilla Glue!, plants, tools, Felts hams, plumbing supplies, I could go on and on about the things I've bought here over the years. And if they don't have it they can probably order it. Great customer service too!

I've been in this store a few times, being new to the area, I'm looking for a good hardware store. I will never go back after my experience this morning. Every time I've been there, there are several employees that don't wear a mask, even managers. This morning, when I asked 4 young men in the hot house room to mask up, one guy said he didn't even have a mask and when I walked away.. he coughed. I will go Tractor Supply, where all employees follow safety protocols. If they don't have what I want, I'll order from Lowe's online. Upper management REALLY needs to have meetings about positive customer experiences.

Love this place. Lived there 30 years ago when it was a small family owned business, then moved away. Found myself back in the area for a work related project and needed some u bolts and other bits of hardware. Now it’s a big, and I assume, family owned business and nothing has changed. Still friendly, helpful people, that walked me to everything I needed. I really miss this place!

This is a great hardware store that carries quality merchandise. The fastener inventory is way better than Lowe's and Home Depot . When I need stainless steel that doesn't rust , screws that won't snap off etc I go to this store even though it is about thirty miles from my house. Also the staff knows their stuff and is always eager to help.

During the pandemic, they have taken their customers into consideration by doing curbside delivery and other safety measures. The store is well stocked and the sales people are helpful. Recommended.

This True Value lives up to its name. I have been a typical Amazon and big box shopper for hardware store things, but since COVID, I decided to shop local and avoid masses. What a gem I found in True Value Smithfield! This place has everything I appreciate, local business , excellent customer service, and wide product selection that’s organized. I have been three times in the last few weeks and each time I come home raving to my wife about how all businesses should operate this well! You’ve won my business and I highly recommend to anyone else within distance! Compliments to the management and staff, amazing job!

Very clean, well kept and customer friendly True Value. We’ve been going to True Value for a few years now after moving to the area. They always seem to have what we need in a pinch. Their customer service is excellent, with someone on the floor always willing to help you find what you need or answer your questions.Steve A. helped me particularly today, when my husband was unable to go with me to get a few carriage bolts and nuts that I needed for my business. Steve took the time to match up what I needed, measure them, and make sure all the nuts aligned with the thread on the bolt. He went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and got what I needed.Thank you Steve and True Value for great customer service, that sometimes these days is hard to find!
