Convenient local hardware store. They have a lot of items that you can get and not have to drive all the way to Charlottesville or Zions Crossroads. The people are all helpful! The amount of feed they get in for different animals is amazing and their prices on feed are competitive. Earl is helpful about talking about the different types of feed and getting in special feeds if you need. I switched from ordering online from a different business to ordering from the Scottsville store. It saves about $30 a month in pig and goat feed. It’s nice to see a lot of the same ppl working there after several years. They know their way around the store and are helpful.

Nice hardware store. I go here mainly to buy feed for my livestock. It's the only place around that carries the horse feed I like, Nutrena Proforce Senior and the Nutrena supplements, Topline Balance and Boost. It's worth the hike to Scottsville to keep my horses in excellent condition. They even deliver and have accommodated us for emergencies on several occasions (needed same day delivery of gates one time, they were on point). The staff is friendly, especially my favorite guy, Earl. He is always super helpful and we go way back to before ACE and Augusta Co-Op merged. The other staff is nice too. Friendly folks. Always helpful each time we have gone in for necessities. For all the things we have required they have had a good selection. Beats driving up to Charlottesville for the one off quick trip to the hardware store. The only thing that took some getting used to was the hours of operation, for dinner reason we usually find someone we need just after they close.

Spent a good while looking and no one ever asked if I needed help. I finally found the item I was looking for but it could have been a quicker trip. I started to ask one associate for help but then I realized he was talking w someone just like all the others. I assumed they were helping the people so I just decided to find it myself. The store had lots of choices with a large variety.

Great hardware store. Usually plenty of folks to ask for advice which normally falls into the category of “where would I find <insert odd item such as a hose adapter>? And, for its size, you wouldn’t think you’d need that kind of assistance but you do… it’s small but they have EVERYTHING!

This is a small town store. Casual locals try to be helpful. I was able to find parts for a plumbing project, however it may have been cheaper to travel 30 miles to a big box store. Clerk overcharged me for a few loose plastic parts. They would have been less than half what they charged me. ( Actual price listed 14 cents each, I paid 20 cents each). Still gas would have been $15 +. Plus my time.

Love that we have an ace nearby for our random projects. It can be a little hard to find what you need, but the staff are helpful when you flag them down. I wish the process for buying lumber were more user friendly for everyday folks, but it seems to be more geared toward contractors.

Don't waste your time, not much stock. People aren't much help. Unless your looking for a nut or bolt. prices are on the high side for what you get.. Take the drive...Go to Palmyra ACE you'll be happy you did..

Small town charm and small town prices. This hardware store is great for saving you a trip to town if you live in Buckingham, Scottsville, and surrounding areas.They're dog friendly and very nice. I always get a warm welcome and it no need help they're happy to assist.Pros: excellent staff, variety of products, cute and homely summer garden supplies, locally owned by Augusta Co-Op, local job creator.Cons: hard to compete with corporate prices.Overall, I love ACE.

The ladies especially, are short and snippy. As long as I have been around Scottsville I have tried to avoid going to their store but once in a great while I have no choice. They never disappoint. If they aren't being rude to me, they're being rude to someone else.

I used to love the Augusta co-op, but since they merged with the Ace hardware it has been a disaster. Terrible service- the employees have little to no knowledge of livestock and feed, and the customer service is lacking. They will sell items that are not in stock in the yard, then you have to go back into the store to get a refund. The quality control went way down, too- I've gotten moldy feed and hay more than once. Avoid this store if possible.

Is it normal for a part time employee to buy a gift card for a female coworker there and not tell his wife? Then his wife find him and coworker texting from personal phones on Christmas? I called ahead of time to ensure they had a 4 inch cap for 4 inch schedule 40 pipe and someone went to check for me and when I got there all I had to do was ask someone to show me where it was and it was easy in and out.
