I love this location (Lakeside, Salem VA). It is clean and well organized. Employees are helpful and friendly. I look forward mostly to seeing Rachel. She is so helpful, knowledgable and kind. She was the first friendly face I met there 30 years ago, and has never wavered. 👍

Your pharmacist is rude and laughed in my face when I handed them a written prescription for my boyfriend’s medication I was trying to pick up before he got out of surgery. The doctors system was down so they had to do it old school. She was also rude to the kind nurse that called to get it sorted out. I understand there are times to be skeptical of scams but I felt undermined and stupid. Several other customers around me were also experiencing the same kind of attitude that she was exuding. I get that people have bad days but that doesn’t mean you take it out at your job. Everyone should be treated with kindness and respect and I would think twice about keeping your current “pharmacist”. I was never rude to her but she continued to be snide and act like I was some sort of drug addict trying to swindle her. Sad. Will not be back to your pharmacy! Otherwise I love this Kroger and those who work there are always helpful and kind. All the other people that work at the pharmacy are good as well I just feel bad for those who have to work under her. Thanks!

Cashiers are rude and self checkout wardens are even worse. Went through a regular checkout and the cashier said he doesn't bag groceries. Played on his phone while my daughter and me bagged our groceries. I asked for a manager and was told they are in meeting. Also neighbors kid used to work there, front house manager(in a text message said you need to choose work or school, you can't afford not to work.) The kid is 15 and it's her 1st job. Needles and crack pipes in the parking lot and grocery getters will run you over.

This Kroger sucks! There’s always rotten food in the produce, theyre often out of basic items, and I always end up regretting the experience after I go. How can the produce be this bad, ALL THE TIME?! The staff is very nice however

I've been shopping here for years but I'm giving up. Half the items I wanted were missing from the shelves. Not unusual items. I'm talking a bag of yellow potatoes. Why would I shop here even if it is the closet store if I can't get what I need? This is terrible.

Only Kroger that refuses to pickup a phone. Been ringing 25 minutes. But you walk inside nothing but kids standing around with hands in their pockets listening to it ring.

If I could give them no stars I would. The staff is fine, store needs some cleaning. Always out of things like they don’t order items? This store needs to sort out the pickup orders. Placed an order that night, next day get a reminder email to pickup. Drive across town to a canceled order and no answers. Your system sucks.

How does someone from Lakeside Kroger call me to come pick up my order later than the expected time but when I get there & have been waiting for 20 minutes when I call the best thing they say when I call is to cancel it’s still not ready. I mean if y’all can’t provide this service then don’t offer it. The lady I talked to on the phone wondering what was going on terrible customer service, cancel it well I wouldn’t have placed it if I didn’t really need it.So update… after an hour waiting my order came well a lot of it they didn’t have but the lady I actually talked to on the phone was also bringing them out. She did apologize for wait & she did take off some for my wait plus they didn’t have have stuff I wanted & didn’t try to substitute ex. eggs they just said they were out but I feel like after talking to her in person she made me feel better about the situation I still had waited an hour & I didn’t get half my items cause they were out of them but she did give me some coupons off my order & was nice so I’m going to up my stars & that was definitely better customer service!

Stopped to buy 2 packs of cigarettes at gas area that was all. I was charged 32.66? So later that evening I go to customer service to where the guy said I'm going to lunch it will be 30 mins. Well 45 mins later I'm accused of lying. I said no. I didn't park at a gas pump. Then I was accused of buying propane. I had no receipt because I wasn't given one. So eventually after fuming and an hour of wait the manager called the gas attendee thankfully he admitted that he made an error and that I did only purchase cigarettes and was wrongfully charged for gas. But still I must wait 3 to 7 business days to get that money back on my card that should have never been taken off. The brown headed young frizzy haired office boy told me they can't pull up my kroger card transactions and can't review cameras without police reports. It's a good thing the manager stepped in because I thought hard about taken an assault charge once I was treated as a liar an theif. I'll be giving food lion my business here on out.I swear that kroger hires anyone and YES I CONTACTED COPERATE

Since we moved here from Charlotte, NC this has been our grocery store right around the corner which at that time was filled with long term employees who took PRIDE in everything they did! Especially since the start of the pandemic this store has gone downhill DRASTICALLY! Countless long term employees got out or refused to be treated like garbage and paid peanuts to do it! I read a recent review about the frizzy headed boy they have working in Customer Service... BEN ...A teenager with way to much authority yet despite his power CAN'T EVER complete whatever transaction he's presented with EXAMPLE spoiled hamburger WITH the receipt yet wasnt able to get the $ only store credit. I was always under the impression KRISTEN/KIRSTEN @ CUSTOMER just condescending unprofessional as it gets advising that I had been lucky despite it being done at 3 different Kroger's about cashing my 16 year old son's PAYCHECK and Kroger's Store policy rude as hell. I went down the road to RIDGEWOOD and never had to say a word except why I was cashing it explained he had no id and a 34 year employee told me that's how it was SUPPOSED to processed. THANKS KRISTEN for setting me straight in thinking you were professional, nice and knowledgeable!! I contacted corporate and was assured this was correct process despite KRISTIN talking down to me like i intentionally was doing something shady.Questionable people and activities in the parking lot are a norm and only getting worse! INSIDE and you'll REALIZE this is truly the most disgusting store in the NRV. The deli arbitrarily closes anytime it feels like it. Believe me it's alarming the entire store EMPLOYEES and customers

By far the most absolute worst kroger in roanoke/salem area. New staff and management is a necessary change this store nees to keep the quality ideals kroger usually stands for.Allways stocking yet never stocked and half as equipt as most other krogers.Several terrible employees work together to make a terrible team.Save time and make the drive to foodlion on peeterscreek

Lakeside Kroger is the best. They have a great supply of different things and their prices aren't actually as high as the Salem Kroger and employees are much nicer Salem one actually need some customer relations classes not being ugly just saying. 😇
