Normally I have no problems at this food lion besides the outrageous prices. But today I wasn't feeling well and decided to do a grocery pickup instead. First time doing it and after today, it'll be the last time. The main thing I needed was tissues. I'm sick, (coughing, sneezing, runny nose etc) so they were a necessity to me. I get home and notice no tissues. I call the store and let a female associate know I didn't get the 3pack of tissues and because I don't feel well I'd just like a refund. She says with an attitude, "you really want a refund for tissues?" I said yes because I didn't get them. She starts talking to another associate then proceeds to HANG UP ON ME! I wish i had gotten that associates name but I called back and Andrew answered and was very polite but told I'd still have to come back to the store for the tissues or the refund. *sigh* He did say that I could come back when I'm feeling better and that's the only reason I'm giving two stars.

I sure wish they carried some of the Christmas specialty items. It would really be nice if they would get in some more of those green grocery totes with the hard bottoms. I use self service checkout in this store most of the time, they are usually pretty short on cashiers and they are not the nicest of employees. That way, I can avoid the hassles. It seems everywhere you go now is mostly self checkout. If we ever want to apply for a cashier's job, we all already have experience!

Depends on whose working as to whether the store functions right. The workers in the deli are terrible, though. One hit me with her cart, didn't say excuse me or nothing.

If you go early in the day you can usually find anything you need but if you go late in the evening there's a lot of stuff that's not on the shelves anymore. It's a clean store nice produce very friendly and helpful associates.

Per Bakery/Deli Dept. (on behalf of Shaunte, Heather & Samantha) hope I spelled names right? What an amazing staff. All have been super helpful in various ways. Down to ordering a cake and a speciality order for my beloved Ukrops spoonbread (LOL). All have been courteous, kind and have gone above and beyond. I can't thank you enough. The store is always clean, staff always helpful. One of the managers (Effie) was more than understanding a few years ago to me and for the past 4yrs I've grown a great respect for this Food Lion. Thank you, Keep up the great work!!

They never have the healthy food I want. The lines for checkout are always long. The store is sort of clean but not the best. The only thing good I can say is the sushi is pretty good.

On Sunday afternoon, 6/11/2023, I was shopping with my 3 year old son and we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Food Lion employee Armando --who is probably the most pleasant customer service person I have ever met. I had a huge cart to checkout, and my son was growing impatient. Armando took advantage of the opportunity to strike up a conversation with my son, telling jokes and totally captivating the 3 year old boy-- discussing everything from favorite sea creatures to favorite movies. Armando then took the time to review my self checkout screen to make sure all eligible coupons were activated. I watched as he tended to other customers the entire time, all the while keeping my son engaged in conversation. An absolute professional. My son had so much fun with Armando, he even talked to me about him after we left the store. Armando is a really special guy, and I'm thankful I had the opportunity to meet him today. His positivity and care for the customer is a tremendous representation of Food Lion and he's an example of not only great customer service, but a great man.

So my overall rating was a 2 outside of customer service. For starters they literally watch me go down every aisle as I shop every singke time. It makes me feel super uncomfortable as If I'm going to steal something. Plus the shelves are never fully stocked, at no point and time do they everything on the shelves. These 2 points are my main concerns and considering this is the only grocery store in reach of my home I have to shop here. As far as their customer service it's outstanding if I had to rate based off that it would be a 5.

Long lines never enough cashiers. Need smaller carts for the online orders because the isles aren't wide enough, and the employees doing them will try to run you over - remember that you are in our way, not the opposite.

Everyone who shops at any food Lion beware we just left food Lion is now they have a new donation program that flashes up on your screen when you go to pay that is so confusing you don't even know it's there we tried to pay for something using EBT it was K-Cups coffee EBT let that go through K-Cups tea would not go through they asked us for cash the customer front of me want to load up a gift card have money on his debit card to do to do it and it charge his card took his money and put it in the donation section........ Customers watch out check your check

It's a grocery store, in 15 miles in all directions fast easy to get in and out of the staff are friendly in the store is relatively clean and well put together not a whole lot more to say about it. Not a whole lot of competition so the prices are generally slightly higher and don't think you're going down to Dollar General or family tree because you're spending just as much if you ask me they come and buy the stuff here and then sell it there LOL

I've been going to Food Lion for years and some experiences are good and others are not. Today, however, the best young man was working putting away the shopping carts. It's over 90 degrees outside and he kindly came over and helped with my groceries. Nobody asked him to, he was just being kind. Thank You!

This is the perfect place to live. The only downfall, Food Lion is the only grocery store within 30 minutes and it’s awful. It’s a very clean store and the sushi is some of the best I’ve ever had but that’s about it.Never enough cashiers, long lines especially during the weekends and evenings. A lot of the cashiers and in store insta cart shoppers don’t know you’re not supposed to bag raw meats and household cleaners with anything else, especially produce which is something they should learn on day one.The picture is of a pepper selected by an in store shopper. Someone needs to train these people. If I push on that spot on the pepper, it’s so mushy my finger would go through. There needs to be higher standards when selecting produce. It’s annoying to go in the store but you also can’t rely on the pickup service to select good produce.There is no win shopping here. I did a pickup order yesterday, supposed to be convenient but now I have to go back to day and get more peppers, grapes and lettuce. Not so convenient after all.Lastly, the store is always restocking during busy hours making it difficult as a shopper. However, they seem to always be out of everything. It’s common that each time you go in there, you will not be able to get half of what’s on your list.This store can put you in a bad mood, usually leave there feeling very frustrated.

I'm totally lost on everyone saying the Food Lion has good produce. Every time we're forced to get something from here it's bad within 2 days. We bought raspberries for out kid yesterday afternoon and we've got mold on them this morning. I can't wait for a different supermarket to open here.

Great staff! Clean store! New layout is still confusing to get use to, but like with all things time will make it better. As with anywhere prices vary but most are reasonable. It seems to be a great place for school-age children to start out. I have lived here for 16 years, this Food Lion has always been my local grocery store. My family and I have bonded somewhat, with some of the staff and can carry on friendly conversations that sometimes seems to raise an eyebrow to some of the on seers, which tend to bring a chuckle to the staff member and ourselves! That's the fun! It's just an all-around great place, locations staff, prices and quantity! CONVENIENCE!

I am extremely unhappy with the delivery service at this Food Lion.I was surprised and happy to discover that the store wold deliver so late. My order was scheduled for 10:30 pm. No mention of Instacart up to this point. At 11pm I contacted the store and was redirected to Instacart who would not answer the phone and I got no response to email.It is now 11:30 pm. I kept trying to contact someone…., Anyone to tell me what’s going on. I was able to speak to no one. Finally I got an Email that implied that my order was still coming and gave me the option to change time of order or cancel order. When nothing happened by midnight I canceled the order and put in pick- up order for this morning at 10 am.Let me be clear1. No one called to say the order was not coming last night. I was told over and over via a automated message that if my order did not arrive at the scheduled time, someone would contact me. That never happened.2. I have not been able to pull up a receipt for today’s pick up order. Was not advised about all the fees being returned in addition to the actual order price on the original order.3. I will never use your delivery service again. I had a problem last night and you assured me that my order would be here I paid all the extra fees.. Instead, I got blatant disregard for my problem and was promptly forgotten about.Terrible job.

Costumer service there needs to be refresh I pass tru someone that works there not even a good morning or how u doing went tru cashier i was just talking to him saying how are u , and how to sign up for the rewards card , that's when I notice he scan an item twice so I said that's rang twice he's answer was u are distracting me I said excuse me so I apologized but I guess talking interacting with a member cant rang items I the same time

The store has improved a lot over the years. There are some great employees working there. There are also some employees that clearly don't want to be there.My only honest complaint is that the produce isn't always as fresh as it should be. The meat selection has really improved in the last couple years.

This store has really improved since undergoing the most recent remodel & re-structuring of the aisles! Things are in an order now that makes more logical sense, in my opinion. They have a fairly good variety, especially of clean eating and vegetarian/vegan options I'm looking for, even if they are pricier than most other stores I'd purchase many of those items from. In a pinch it's still more cost effective for me to pay a few cents more here than make a trip to Fredericksburg or south of here to get those items for a better price (but I have become better at planning ahead to get certain things online it on trips to nearby cities to help with the budget in this area).They have always had friendly service and employees in the 12 years I've been shopping here (especially Ms. Sue whom I do not know personally but she has brightened many a shopping trip/day for me with her awesome personality & smile!).The store is clean including the restrooms (on the infrequent times I've used them), immediately outside the store, & in the parking lot. There are always carts & baskets available inside even during bad weather.If the prices were a little better here I'd honestly rate this location even higher - although I can't really complain for the convenience of having a grocery store in town to shop at.It should be noted that this is, in my opinion, the best Food Lion store in quite a large area (over Thornburg, Bowling Green & some even farther north and south).There's one problem at this store I've noticed and it's been this way for a long time now & I can't say whether the other 2 stores I've just mentioned have fixed this issue in their locations yet since I'll never be confident to find out because 1 trip each was bad enough! There is a lot of loitering in the parking lot here by non-shoppers after dark, especially on the weekend and especially in the specific area in front of the Food Lion. I applaud the Caroline County Sheriff's Department because I've definitely noticed a lot more presence during these periods in recent years, but it's still a little unsettling when they aren't there. I've avoided the store during these times as much as possible which sometimes does mean they've lost business because I choose to pick up needed items elsewhere on trips out-of-town.

The employees are nice and helpful. That being said, Food Lion corporate knows this is the only game in town and they eek a few extra pennies out of you because of this. The produce is not of the quality I would expect. The tomatoes are almost always pink hothouse varieties and not tasty red ones. The pre-packaged pork is almost always a 12%+ solution/water weighted product.They do much better dealing with the 5pm rush than they used to and they staff better on weekends now as well. After the remodel things seem to have improved. The lines are generally short and the staff is reasonably well trained at checkout.

Decent prices, very nice kind employees, not as fancy a selection as wegmans or occasionally giant, but they have most things. Even organic and wine. They can make a decent cake for a quick need or bday. Occasionally organic produce goes bad quickly, bit that's most anywhere. Overall a good value. Plus is clean bathrooms for customers.
