They have terrible practices in their produce and meat department. I've had multiple times where I get vegetables or meat that has slime. Carrots, mushrooms, slaw outdated often. Totally careless.Always just threw it away because I don't have the time to drive back there and complain. Should have known better, because now girlfriend and I are incredibly sick after eating beef and peppers from here.Thanks a lot Ruckersville food lion.

This food lion i think isnt as good as the one in Louisa co. Not far fro. Ruckersville, the prices are higher there at this one, the meat selections arent as good, i asked the meat guy if they carry chicken livers, he just shook his head no. The employees in Louisa are more helpful and willing to help, i know prices vary in locations, but there meats are very high compared to Louisa, i couldnt belive it, id rather travel and go to Louisa than this store, the entire atmosphere makes u feel like ur on ur own trying to find something.

The treatment was not good with customers. I bought 11 trees, but there was a dead tree. I went to return this tree. He did not accept the return of this dead tree, but I asked to return my money. He did not accept the replacement of this dead tree.

I save a lot of money here with shop and earn. I have the app on my phone, and I either scan my MVP card everytime I go or use my phone number. Yesterday $7 came off my total from shop and earn. I don't buy anything extra to get the rewards from shop and earn, they are just automatically earned by buying the things I need. Yesterday I got a great deal on Sirloin steaks but that was the last pack they had at $6.99 per pound. That's the only bad thing about this store, they do not stock a lot of the meat they have on sale. However I still give them 5 stars because one time the Boston button were sold out, and I called later in the day and they said we're getting ready to put out some more and they held one for me. I believe the cost was 49 cents per pound!! When they have deals like this they will go fast.

I wanted to thank Mikka in the deli department who was so kind and helpful, pulling together a large order of fried chicken for a church event for us! It was delicious and we are very grateful!

The store overall is pretty good. However, Leslie is the rudest employee I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. I went to Customer Service to inquire about when the meat department closed. They were completely out of every meat that was on sale. The woman at Customer Service did not know when they closed so she asked the cashier at the express lane which happened to be Leslie. Leslie stated they normally closed at 7 PM but they closed at 5 PM today. I asked when the meat department would re-open and she got an attitude saying the man in the meat department was the only one there today. I told her that didn’t answer my question and she cut her eyes at me and stared me down like I was one of her children. I told her that didn’t change anything and I only wanted an answer to my question to which she rolled her eyes and laughed. I own my own business and if any of my employees treated a customer in that manner, they would be terminated immediately.

They are comparable to Harris teeter. As in prices. Not selection. On the app. I have often not received credit for my purchases. Plus Charlottesville/ Albermarle.. food lions charge for plastic bags. They do not at the Ruckersville. One. Get in and get out staff is not the friendliest bunch. I stick to self check out. But they employees have the gargoyles look going on.

Kudos to the Deli team! The fried chicken 8 piece special is awesome, and the crew has the chicken recipe perfected. Great prices in store, especially if you have an MVP card. Always check out the Managers Specials in the meat department. Even if the sticker is marked ending today, put it in the freezer. Lots of good d3als if you take the time to look.

In the last year, this location has worked hard to update their store and what they offer.It was not my favorite grocery store three years ago, but is becoming a much nicer place to shop.The staff are kind and helpful, and the quality of produce has improved quite a bit. The product range has also expanded to lesser known brands and those offering gluten free and vegan/vegetarian foods.

Great people are working here, friendly and smiling! Good deals and very clean. Thanks to Kevin at the self-checkout for doing his work above and beyond. It is my happy place to be social while distancing myself with masks and sanitizers available too. Got my sweet coupon and would definitely be back for holiday shopping.

Still a very pleasant experience compared to Walmart. This particular Food Lion tends to have some items for sale after they are expired, based on my perception of some of the bagged salads and meats. I also wish they would stock the ready made sandwiches that the Food Lion a few miles south of this one does.

I really like this one, all the carts are in good condition, and they have a special walk-in produce section that's really nice. Especially on a hot day, you can just go hide in there for a few minutes and cool off. The bathrooms are also very clean.

I have mobility issues and the staff at this Food Lion is always ready to help. Wendy assisted me with getting my groceries ready to take to my vehicle despite not being the cashier checking me out. On other visits I have actually had management approach me and ask if they can be of assistance. Staff working in the different departments usually smile and offer a greeting. The staff here offer a consistent positive level of customer service.

I run up to this location very frequently for this and that ( in between our regular shopping trips ). Also, it has my specific type of pipe tobacco. The employees here are ALWAYS helpful and friendly. I really can't think of much, if anything, I'd change ( of course, if you want to lower your prices, have at it ! 😄

This is the first Food Lion that I've shopped at due to the bad reputation the brand has, but honestly, I am pretty happy with this site. It's clearly pretty old, but it's always clean when I've been there and the fresh food looks good. The produce could be a bit better, but it's certainly not terrible.

This is a very good store most of the time it's got everything you need it's generally pretty clean people are friendly the meat mgr ought to be quiet sometimes and not think he's funnier than what he isn't but my only complaint I can think of is they quit carrying wolf brand chili no beans
