I can't say enough good things about Franklin County humane society, they care so much about all the animals in their care and helping the community.I've adopted from them and I've used their veterinary services and again both are absolutely outstanding. We're very fortunate to have them in our region and I try to donate to them as often as I can.

Visited the Franklin County Humane Society today looking for my special buddy. Found him there. I have been to many shelters looking for a long time now. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The animals looked well taken care of and my adoption process went very quickly and smoothly. Very pleasant experience, thanks to all of the staff! Great job guys! I adopted Boogie. A male Terrier mix. Very cute and so smart! Boogie has a sweet personality that you can't help but to fall in love with him. I look forward to many years together with him. Thank you all for what you do!

We had an awesome experience adopting from this shelter. The process was super easy and we were even able to take our cat Swiss Miss home the same day. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to take our cat in a separate room so we could get a better idea of how she’d act alone with us (and we are super glad they did!). The animals there were well cared for and you cannot beat the amount of friends they have available to adopt. We are so thankful we went here!!

I have always loved animals, especially dogs and cats. While I have had dogs in the past and while growing up I always wanted a cat. I found the Humane Society and fell in love with two kittens. They are perfectly healthy, spayed, microchiped and fully vaccinated. Knowing that I saved not just one life but two is amazing. If you can please donate as they run off of volunteers and donations to take care of all the fur babies. I know I will be continuingy support because with out them I wouldn't have my girls.

Adopted 3 precious cats in one day! After a couple of miscommunication hiccups (mistakenly taking down wrong phone numbers) we happily found 3 adult fuzzballs who were more than happy to come home with us.The staff were all amazingly informative regarding adoption info, as well as making sure we understood the particular personalities of the cats we were chosen by.The staff were all also incredibly accommodating of my young child who had to help with everything.TL;DR - Great staff, facility and pets. Come take one to their furever home. (A pet, not the staff..)

My fiance and I adopted our puppy from there a few weeks ago. They were rude to us right from the start and made the adoption process awful. We had another puppy in mind and told us we could adopt him and when we went to to see him they said he was adopted already. We got lucky with our puppy but they forced us to neuter him at 3 months old. He is a large breed mix so neutering that soon could cause health issues but they didn't care when I brought it up. They practically said other vets are dumb and they only rely on their vets info. The vets were nice but the adoption people were extremely rude and treated us like we knew absolutely nothing. Christina was in charge of our adoption and was the most rude. Definitely would recommend other shelters before theirs! Good job deleting negative reviews as well!

We had adopted A kitten from Franklin Co. and had her for over a year. She was nothing but amazing for us. I had a job opportunity that I could not refuse, and we have to move across country. Where we are moving too, I can't take her with me. We had tried asking family members and friends first because we did not have to return her to the shelter. Unfortunately, no one that we knew could adopt her from us, so I had contacted Franklin Co and let them know our situation. They emailed back and said they understood the situation, and that they always take their animals back.This situation was already tough, but the staff at the front desk did not make us feel any better about having to do this. We had already felt terrible and my girlfriend was tearing up as she was signing the papers. A lady at the front walked out saying that she can't stand when people return animals and that she could not watch the situation. The other workers at the front were making rude comments and being very passive with us the whole time that we were there.We took every single step to make sure that our Cat would get re-homed/adopted and taking her back to the shelter was our last resort. We already felt absolutely terrible, and the workers at the shelter made us feel 100x worse. I understand that they never want to see an animal get returned, but I do think that the situation could have been handled in a more professional manner.

We bring our 5 dogs, & our foster dogs here as well . . .Their ENTIRE STAFF is nothing short of INCREDIBLE!!! We're especially fond of Dr. Werner & the vet tech Karen; they're insightful, SO unbelievably kind to our animals, & they're absolutely hilarious too!! We won't bring them anywhere but here!

I didn’t use their services. However, I broke down in their parking lot and the staff there was super understanding about my vehicle blocking some of their spots. Once I figured out what was wrong an employee helped me get back on the road so I could get my vehicle to a garage and I am so thankful. Super nice staff!

Wonderful place had Mom and 3 kittens strays and they took them all in free of charge . Unlike some organizations that charge finder a fee to take them in and a fee for them to be adopted. Many thanks to Jenifer, Anita and the rest of the staff for taking the cat and kittens to find forever homes for them.

I love how FC tries there best not to kill any animals. You can call Planned Pethood to spay or neuter any strays at a discounted price to help keep the population down. Visit them to just play with the animals, even if f you can't take any pets right then. Talk to any of them if you have questions about your pets or strays, like I was given a 3 week old kitten someone abandoned and they helped explain about how to feed at that age. Love FC Humane Society/Planned Pethood!

Very impressive animal shelter with many caring staff and volunteers. My family is now fostering an 11 mo old lab pup we hope to adopt. She is so smart and lovable. Spayed, shots, heartworm meds all taken care of. Looking forward to training her to fill in for our retired service dog. ❤️ Go see who will adopt You. 😊

This is an amazing place to take your dog or cat!I brought my 2yr old beagle mix, in to get fixed, a few shots, and a dental cleaning. They called me after I left, to say they didn't need to do the dental cleaning after all, but that they'd clean a little without charging me :) I really appreciated this!!! They also trimmed her nails for me which was a huge help!I picked up my Lucy, an hour early, and it's now the day after...and she is doing great! Just tired and slow but that's to be expected after SURGERY lol.I can tell they treated her very well, and I can't express enough how grateful I am for that.Love this place and would definitely recommend!Great prices too! 5 star for sure!

This was my first experience with adopting a pet. I am so happy I chose here to find a pet. All of the areas I saw were very clean! Everyone I met was extremely nice and helpful, if they didnt know the answer to a question they were happy to go find that answer. The other thing that stood out was that the dogs were all called by name and spoken to as their area was passed by each person there. No dog was left out and the volunteers and employees all seemed to take that extra moment to pat a head or scratch an ear. The trainer was awesome, she met with us and gave us her advice and opinions on the dog we chose. We found that so helpful. We are so happy to have our Bentley with us now and so thankful that he was taken such good care of!! Many thanks to everyone at the Franklin County Humane Society!!

Went to get my cat back after someone dropped her off and got denied because they throw records out after 4 years. They told me she has bumps on her skin. That has happened to 2 of my animals after being seen by this place. 1 dog and 1 cat. But continue to tell me they didn't feel safe letting me adopt my cat back. This is not a habitat. It's a skin disease breeding ground and I will be getting my cat out of that hole if it's the last thing I do.

We adopted our Lucas (Luke) from here. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We went back to the clinic for his check up and we were so impressed how clean the facility was and how professional every person we interacted with was. We are giving this facility a 10 of 10. We are so glad we came here for our Luke and adopted him. Did I mention how friendly and helpful everyone was and how well they care for the pets.Thank you Franklin County Shelter for the work you do!

My mother had been looking for a small dog to adopt. We were having no luck. We finally found one here. The people were very friendly and by the time we left we had been approved to have the dog. My mother is 78 and had lost her beloved dog Maddy and so longed for another four legged child. I can't thank them enough for making her so happy. Tho an older facility it was immaculate. The cats have entire rooms to themselves so they can roam freely. During the age of covid it is more difficult doing anything including getting in to see pets up for adoption. This facility made it easy.

Wonderful caring staff. The facility is clean and the animals were all super friendly. Wish I had room to adopt like 6 of them. We took our friends kids and it was a great experience and they learned a lot about the animals that need homes. Even if you're not in the market for another animal please swing by and show these animals some love!!
